Short Synopsis:
Kelly has just lot her mom to cancer and decides to move South to start over. As she finally settles in, she decides to take a tennis course that will add to her exercise regiment and spice up the dullness in her life. She wasn't prepared for Patrick, her coach and most desirable man in the area, to be the same guy that would knock her off her feet. As the two get to know one another sparks fly and things get heated. They quickly fall into an intimate relationship where things seem to be going well, that is until one of the town's designated slut and all around hater, Danielle, jumps in the middle in an attempt to make Patrick hers.

Now Patrick will have to figure a way out of the mess that was created and try to win back the only woman that has caught his attention and captured his heart in a long time.

The Best Thing:
I liked the cover and the premise for the storyline. I'm also happy this story did provide a HEA. I liked how the setting was described (especially since I'm very familiar with the location), it made me feel like I was there in the moment.

The Worst Thing:
The synopsis for this book really got me excited! I couldn't wait to read about Kelly and how she would meet and fall for Patrick, but something went wrong. I've read plenty of short stories and erotica, some are able to build a great storyline in a short amount of time, while others just fall a little flat. In this case there were a few things that bothered me personally about this book.

While the editing and grammar were well done, the writing style was definitely off for me. I can't put my finger on it, but it felt as though the words were just placed on the page with no real thought or emotion behind them. I had absolutely no connection to any of the characters whatsoever. There's was a significant amount of time spent on Kelly's mom and her death, and while I understand the initial reasoning behind this, it just didn't balance out with the amount of time that should have been used to capture he reader's attention in regards to Kelly and Patrick. By the time I reached the 'relationship' part of the book, I felt like I was racing with the roadrunner by how fast Kelly and Patrick connected. There was no build-up, no real display of chemistry that got me excited when they actually did hook up, and everything felt mechanical.

Overall:
I must say that I'm definitely disappointed in the outcome for this book. When I was first approached to read it I couldn't wait. I had high hopes because of the synopsis and the cover, and just knew it would be good. Sadly that was not the case for me.

3 out of 5 for this reader folks!

Match Point by Chelsea Dorsette is a short story with elements of erotica/BDSM, a love match meant to be, two “I want to throttle” antagonists and a big side of tennis.

Kelly is our heroine who after taking care of her dying mother has decided she is in dire need of a change. She packs her home up and sets off to pursue a dream of becoming an author. She decides she is going to join a local tennis club to stay in shape and this is where she meets her soon to be soul mate.

Patrick is the tennis pro who soon becomes Kelly’s trainer. He is a light hearted guy, loves his job, is quick to smile and put up with all the ladies who want to dig their claws into him. When Kelly shows up for her first lesson, the sparks ignite, they soon are falling for each other and ticking off two spiteful employees that secretly want them apart.

Okay, so this was a quick read and because of that, character development kind of lacked a little for me. It is so hard for authors to write a short story and give the reader the natural build up many of us crave in our stories. I was a little disengaged and being an emotional reader that kind of sucks. But with the negative, there is always a positive. This was a HOT read, and I was pleasantly surprised to come across a few scenes that I have never encountered before in a BDSM novel. I loved that! I also loved the tennis background. I think that Chelsea has lots of promise in this genre, and I will certainly check out anything she has written!

So again, a short read, and if you need a quick erotica fix, Match Point will certainly scratch that itch.

HAPPY READING! :)
