Overall, I'm rather disappointed in this book. It moved too fast, was too short, had no character development... It had a decent premise and I was excited about it. It simply didn't live up to my expectations.

Here's the story...
Emma is an eager reporter infiltrates an exclusive sex club in order to write a story which well launch her career (and indulge in some of her darker fantasies) only to be introduced to Adrian, a Dom itching for a new Sub (but he needs someone discreet, and doesn't want to train an inexperienced submissive)

Here are the not so good things:
- We know the conflict immediately - Adrian needs to protect his reputation & Emma is infiltrating the club to write a story for a gossip magazine. There you go. We can all see where this is going...
- The story moved way too fast. Either we didn't get to witness the character development, or it simply never happened in the rush to get to the end of the book.
- The trust was too instant. They fell in love too fast. Both of these problems could have been solved with a bit of careful character development. Not only was it not believable, it was absurd.
- We never really learned what happened with

Here are the good things:
- Sexy times were fairly decent: Exhibitionism, voyeurism, and BDSM at an exclusive sex club... Some interesting moments with an electric toothbrush...
- There was no "Series Teaser Cliffhanger"
- There was no time for uncertainty or angst... But maybe there should have been?
- If this had been written as a full-length novel, it would have probably been so much better. The length of the book eliminated the possibility of the reader getting to know or understand the characters beyond their sexual preferences.

Some of my Favorite moments:

Working for a company like Scandal is not easy, especially for a morally conscious Emma. She doesn’t believe in the company’s vision, but she needs the money, experience and the recommendation if she wants to land her dream job. Her new assignment brings her at the front gate of TropiX, a private fetish club, hoping to kill two birds with one stone; after all, where else can you explore your on sexuality and get a story interesting enough to get a new job. Hopefully she can get this job done without exposing anyone. She befriends a swinger couple that gets her the invitation she needs and know a Dom whose coming back into the game after some time away.
Could she be his next eager sub? Or was she a newbie who though she might like bondage only to freak out the moment she had to give up a little control?

Adrian is drawn instantly to Emma, but he has his reservations on training a new sub, he vows to himself not to rush this and to get to know her and her intentions. He has some tests for her on trust and submission, before they can jump into any kind of Dom/sub relationship. His last sub was a disaster, she nearly ruined his career, his work is his life and getting on staff at the hospital is everything he’s ever wanted. As a Neurosurgeon, discretion is crucial for his future.
To have a sub willing to surrender, willing to allow him to push her beyond her limits was what he needed badly.

There is no denying the connection between them, it was "mental, physical and intensely sexual." While they get to know each other, Emma’s guilt about her initial intentions at TropiX is eating away at her and Adrian is finally opening his eyes to a life outside of work that he has missed. But when evil intentions expose her little white lie, will their connection be strong enough to survive?

Summer Sins was a quick erotic read, about finding out things about yourself that you never knew. Fair warning there was a bit of insta-lust and love in it, with light BDSM. For me it was too quick to build any bond with the characters, but it definitely had the potential. One thing I enjoy most about Dom/sub relationships is the interaction between the two, but when commands are summarized without the dialogue it loses its appeal. We get a little bit of it and it was a tease because I wanted more from Adrian. This is a standalone read that is good for a afternoon quickie, especially if you’re in the mood for a little heat.

Emma writes for the tabloid Scandal, a job she hates. Getting an invite to go to the underground exclusive sex club is just the type of story her boss wants on the front page of her rag. Already feeling a slight desire to explore the world of BDSM, she ventures into the club for both a story and the experience. Enter Master Adrian. He's out one sub and not especially on the hunt for a new one, with zero experience. But he wants Emma and he's going to get what he wants.

I just could not get into this at all. There was some problems with transitions in a majority of hte story that caused me to have to pause and then go back a few lines to see if I was missing something. There was also areas of the story when there were an overload of details given, but during the first scene at the club the shifts from one sexual experience to the next was just so clipped and almost clinical in how it felt.

This was a short read, but there are ways to be able to sum up an ending that doesn't seem to give the reader whiplash. The last few pages of this story really turned every enjoyable moment of this and just tossed it out.

The idea of this story had potential. If there was some way to flow the scenes together and extend the ending out a few pages more this might have worked better. Along with a change of dynamics of the way the end played out. We all know that these stories are fiction, but they have to have some reality to them. Adrian's reaction and what he was willing to sacrifice for a woman he had known for two weeks, had sex with like twice was completely unbelievable.

A tabloid reporter + a BDSM club? That's just all kinds of wrong. Aside from the obvious moral issues what doesn't add up in Summer Sins is the fact that Emma has spent weeks laying the groundwork to get inside TropiX, the local BDSM club, yet as soon as she does she begins having second thoughts? If you're going to have a character that's amoral then have a character that's amoral! Instead, she takes one look at Adrian and decides he can change her life through "social sex and sensual exploration" and starts waffling about betraying her friends.

Instalove is so hard for me to read but the whole relationship between Emma and Adrian is fraught with melodrama so, I guess, instalove's par for the course. The development of both of these characters is sub-par and I had a difficult time connecting with either of them.

As far as the BDSM aspects go, I thought the first scene between Adrian and Emma was a little intense for a novice. The word "trust" gets thrown around like confetti between them, but I had this running through my head every time I read it.

description

Naturally, their relationship moves at lightening speed complete with a collaring and a puppy.

description

The writing's not too bad with only a few typos. It would probably be helped by length and more thorough character development.

I really was a disappointed in parts of this read. Adrian is a neuro surgeon and Emma is a writer for a gossip magazine. Adrian is very discreet and has reason to be. The BDSM club that they meet at and with the pretense of an article. It allows Emma to explore her sexuality. Adrian takes her on and I was initially confused. Adrian had turned her down to be her Dom then he is walking up to her and staking a claim. So much has happened and dramatic changes and no story line behind it. This happened regularly through out this book. I had a good feeling of the plot. The fact that BDSM is based majority on trust. The collar is significant AND it is a major symbol and not to be taken lightly. Here, it felt very rushed with in the story and relationship. The scenes were hot, but was missing a major factor to help this story move forward. I would have like to have seen more substance behind these characters and their actions and would like to have seen better follow through.

I received this ARC from the author via Net Galley for my honest review. Thanks Net Galley!!!

This is the story of a Emma who is a writer for the magazine " Scandal". She has been asked to write and scathing article about " Dark Odyssey" the BDSM club in town. Emma is excited to get the invitation to the club but she is not happy about writing the article because she is not interested in hurting any of the people that are using it.

Adrian is at Dark Odyssey with his friend checking some new rooms and they want him to meet a new friend the brought to the club . Little does he know he is going to be meeting Emma and it will be and instant attraction. There is many twist and turns in there relationship that occur.

This story was very fast moving . I think that is because this was a novella. I as a reader kind a wish there would have been more content. I really wanted to reader more about the characters it felt like the story rushed to get to the end.

This is the first time i read this author and will give her another try.

I received this book as and ARC from NETGALLEY.

Summer Sins was a sexy short story but it didn't stand out for me. It was average in a BDSM heavy genre but enjoyable all the same. Master Adrian was sexy and believably dominant, coupled with Emma who was a relatable character that was honest in her emotions and experiences. The BDSM and sex scenes were researched and life like as well as hot. A great quick read for someone looking to spice up their reading and enjoy the world created.

I like the main characters, but not so much the friends. The story was enjoyable (who knew you could do that with a toothbrush) and going along at a great pace, but then the ending was rushed. I thought they deserved at least a couple more chapters. The title didn't have anything to do with the story.

Emma is a reporter who works for a tabloid magazine. Her latest assignment is to infiltrate the local BDSM club TropiX and report on who and what she sees there. However, Emma is a reporter with a conscious. She is hesitant to take this assignment because of who she'll see there, and then have to report about it. Emma is also a reporter who really gets into her stories, becoming an active participant with her subject, which has included bungee jumping and scuba diving. This latest assignment is one that Emma is looking forward to since she wants to explore her sexual boundaries.
Adrian is a Neurosurgeon who is trying to get a staff position at the local hospital. He is also a Dom who has been absent from the scene for 6 months after his last sub was a little too masochistic. His two close friends Carter and Cynthia decide that it's high time Adrian get back into the scene and set him up with their new friend Emma.
Both Adrian and Emma are attracted to each other at first sight, but because Emma is new to the scene, Adrian doesn't want to train her. But attraction cannot be denied, and the two hook up.
Emma has feelings of guilt about her job, especially since trust is a huge component in their Dom/sub relationship and every time the mention of work comes up, Emma changes the subject. She plans on telling Adrian the truth after they have been together for a few weeks, but fate intervenes.
The tabloid world is cut-throat and while her piece on TropiX is good, it isn't juicy enough, so Emma's boss sends in a co-worker who is very hungry for dirt. He not only captures all the goings on in the club, he also captures Emma and Adrian in the middle of a scene. Pictures and names are printed in his article and he gives Emma a co-byline, using her real name, not the pseudonym that she usually writes under. The information is presented to Adrian at a charity dinner, in front of his boss. He is immediately fired, and leaves Emma, after she insists that she had nothing to do with this version of the article, and that she was planning on telling him her real job later that night.
Carter and Cynthia realize that what Adrian and Emma have is worth saving, so they do everything in their power to get Adrian to see that Emma was telling the truth, that she had nothing to do with the damning article. Adrian is head over heels in love and wants to make amends with Emma. He now has to convince Emma that he does trust her after all.
My one complaint with this book that I have is that it was too short! I really enjoyed this book. The characters were well thought out and developed. I so could see this book expanded upon and made into a full length novel, but at least as far as short stories go, it had a beginning, a middle and a conclusive ending. The BDSM was actually quite mild, but I think that aspect actually took a backseat to the love story developing between the two main characters.
All in all, it was a very enjoyable read!

I was feeling a bit over-romanced, so I decided it was time to read some edgier stuff. Anything with “Taboo” in the description seemed appropriate, so I snapped up an ARC from Ellora’s Cave’s Taboo line, which is focused on BDSM (Ellora’s Cave refuses to publish stories that are actually taboo, and stuff closer to “taboo” falls under their Kink line, but I digress).

Summer Sins is the story of gossip-rag reporter Emma, who’s been assigned to find out what exactly goes on at sex club TropiX and who exactly gets up to it. Fortunately she has a genuine curiosity and a convenient in: a couple she’d met on the train who are members. They introduce her to Adrian, a Dom who’s been out of the scene since some mysterious incident with his last sub. Adrian’s reluctant to take on a newbie, though. Also, his position as a neurosurgeon makes Emma’s mandate to expose TropiX to the light a bit problematic when she falls for him.

Not gonna waste too many words on this because I was disappointed. This was one of those books that made me think, “Wow, I could do better than this.” (To judge for yourself, see here. Yep, shameless self-promotion.) I don’t like books that make me think that. These people are supposed to be getting book deals for a reason. Plus, Ellora’s Cave needs to make room in their roster for a better copy editor: me. Ahem. Sorry, enough with the “me” shit. But the writing is technically frustrating, and someone should have caught that. POVs flip back and forth from sentence to sentence; a character’s dialogue is interrupted by long, irrelevant asides; and there is way too much telling without showing. We’re told the characters’ connection is building, but that was news to me. Almost everything is explained awkwardly in dialogue when it isn’t explained as an aside smack-dab in the middle of a character’s speech. And for BDSM erotica, there is very little BDSM. And Emma’s shit at it. From what little I know of BDSM (and almost everything I’ve learned is from books like this, so you’re going to have to forgive my ignorance), Adrian should have bailed pronto. But instead, he falls in love with her. Or so we’re told. Also, we’re told that he can’t explain it. Yeah, no kidding.

Listen, I know this is supposed to be a novella, but it had room to be longer, and it could have focused a lot more on the relationship. And the sex. Wow, so little sex for a “taboo” erotica story. I felt nothing when I read this. No thrill from the sex, no love for the characters; just frustration and disappointment. And loads of relief that I didn’t pay for it.

*Spoilers*
Summary:
Emma writes for Scandal, basically a gossip magazine that will publish anything and everything. It is not really Emma's idea of journalism, but it is the only place that would hire her. The one thing that her boss does love is her dedication to her work and her in depth research. When her boss tells her to go to TropiX and scope out the new addition to the club Dark Odyssey, Emma can't believe her good fortune. She will be able to write a piece about something she has always craved to do.

But this is no ordinary club. This club is all about sex in every shape and form. The new club is really what catches Emma's eye, BDSM.

Adrian Cayne has been away from the BDSM lifestyle for a while, but wants to get back into it. The only trouble he is having is finding the right submissive. His last one almost ruined his career and things went way farther then he wanted.

Upon meeting Emma he is fascinated by her immediately. When she requests that he be her Dom, he turns her down right away. He doesn't do inexperienced submissive. But the more he is around her, the more he entertains the idea of Emma being his.

So he decides to give her a few seductive tests to see how receptive she is and if she will be able to go to places he longs to get back to.
Once secrets are revealed between the two and both jobs are on the line, it is hard to say if the couple will make it out in one piece.

Review:
The summary of the book sounded AMAZING! But unfortunately lacked development in the plot and in the characters.

I felt right the beginning of the book was awesome, great set up, and it had me wanting more Adrian. The descriptions of the different rooms in the club was amazing.

But then it started falling way short.

By the summary you would think there would be multiple tests, right? Well, there were only two! One was very inventive, but landed them in bed right after.

Really? No sexual tension. But lets just jump into bed right away after the first test.

The second test was right away to the club.

I felt that if there had been more tests, more controversy about getting Emma's article in, and getting more in depth about who the characters were, then it would have been an amazing book. I would have given it at least 4 stars then.

But alas, it lacked a lot.

Emma, a writer for a tabloid magazine, is writing a story about an exclusive underground sex club catering to celebrities and other prominent society members that her boss wants to exploit. After receiving an invite to the exclusive club, she uses the opportunity for her story to explore her natural desire to dabble into the world of submission and BDSM. At the club, she's introduced to neurosurgeon and Dominant Adrian. He's fresh back into the scene after a significant absence due to personal and work related reasons. He's not looking for a new submissive, especially a newbie who has yet to really delve into his world. Despite this, he decides that he wants Emma and decides to test her.

After subjecting Emma to numerous tests gauging whether or not they can connect, they delve further into their D/s relationship. Due to Adrian's work, he needs his private life to remain private (who doesn't?). The fact that Emma is writing a rag about the club and its goers causes her a lot of personal grief and she's unsure as to whether or not she can exploit people for the sake of her career, especially since she now has a personal stake in one of the club's members.

This story really had a lot of potential. If it hadn't been so short and rushed, I could have really gotten into this. The length and pace of the story resulted in my not being able to really get into and connect with the story and characters. What could've been a potentially great story, just ended up as something being "Eh... Okay."

I gave this a 3 star rating because of its potential. The writing was good and the plot was promising, it just lacked in substance.

Emma is a reporter looking for that big break anything that'll allow her to hit the big time and be a reporter for a big newspaper. So when she's getting assignment from her editor to venture into the Mecca of all sex clubs she cannot say no to the assignment. Emma is very curious about this lifestyle and is also going through a bit of a sexual drought. To attend the club you must be in invited by a member. And Emma finds a way to get invited to the club where she is introduced to Aidan.

Aidan is very in tune with his profession. He believes that his image will help him advance in his career. But Aidan is a Dom and is a member of TropiX. Aidan has gone through a bit of a rough patch with his previous submissive's. When some friends of his ask him to come to the club so he can see the new renovations Aidan is not aware that there also trying to hook him up with Emma.

Aidan is attracted and drawn to Emma when he first lays eyes on her. Emma is attracted to Aidan but is fearful of her assignment taking lead in her attraction to Aidan.

Aidan must make a choice either continue to be a Dominant, retain a submissive, and not let it affect his personal image or to remain alone. Emma must choose whether she wants the story of the year that could make or break her career or if she wants to be in lust and in a D/s relationship.

This story was short ebook that read rather quickly for me. The quickness of the story did not deter from the passion of the characters and the invitation of the story to the reader. If you are interested and happily ever after and some steam in your scenes, this is the book.

Happy reading.

SUMMER SINS is a brief, steamy story about finding love in the midst of lies, secrets, and indiscretion.

Master Adrian usually doesn’t take on inexperienced or indiscrete subs, but he is drawn to Emma’s natural submission. Adrian is busy with work and hoping to advance his career; training an inexperienced sub will take time he doesn’t have. He also can’t risk his conservative employer finding out about his private life. Emma works at a gossip magazine and has been tasked by her editor to write an article about the BDSM club, Dark Odyssey. Emma has no hesitations in taking this assignment because she secretly craves a chance to explore her own sexual fantasies. When she meets Adrian and things begin to progress in their relationship she realizes she has to change the tone of her article or people will be hurt. When Adrian finds out what Emma has been doing he is devastated and questioning his ability to open himself up to anyone again.

This story was short and, as is the case with a lot of short stories, did not develop the characters or plot as fully as I would have liked. I felt the relationship progressed too quickly and Adrian’s acceptance of and trust in Emma was not believable when Adrian kept referring to his ex-sub and the trust issues he had after his relationship with her. I liked the characters and believe that if they had a little more depth to them then the story would have been much improved. The D/s scenes were hot and Emma learning the rules was fun.

I thought this story had a really good premise; it just needed some more development. I enjoyed reading it and would read this author again.

Aidrian Cayne an up and coming doctor who is well known and respected. He is also well known withing BDSM community. Although the BDSM knows of his professional career does not know of his sexual proclivities and he is careful to keep it that way. Emma Fallon is a reporter for a rag newspaper called Scandal. Her present assignment is to write an inside piece on the BDSM community, she hopes it will lead to a job at a legitimate paper.

Emma, using a friendship with a couple she met on a train, receives an invitation to the new BDSM Club, Dark Odyssey. She hopes to write her article using her personal experiences at the club while at the same time exploring her own curiosity about her own submissive tendencies. It is at the club Emma met Adrian who was just returning to the scene after a six month leave following a hard break up with a long term sub. Adrian and Emma are both attracted to each other, but Adrian is unwilling to take on the task of training a new sub unless she is willing to pass a few of his test first.

It is a story of self-discovery and learning to trust another completely. In doing so you just might free yourself to live life to the fullest. As you read this story you will find yourself identifying with the characters in many ways. Whether it be their hopes for the future or facing the fears to become a stronger person or better friend. The last thing Adrian Cayne needs is a new submissive, especially since he is trying to keep his involvement in the BDSM lifestyle private so it won’t negatively impact his job prospects.

Author Kathy Kulig sets Adrian and Emma on a collision course in Summer Sins. Will Emma’s desire for a story take a back seat to an exploration of her submissiveness?

The storyline follows a typical path starting with a main character who keeps a secret from the other main character. The reader knows that at some point, the truth will be revealed. The only question is how the reveal will happen and what kind of impact it will have on the characters.

Since the story focuses on an introduction to BDSM, the perspective is perfect for those readers who might be new to the lifestyle. Adrian is well-suited to the instructor role and comes across as very patient. Unfortunately, the length of the story doesn’t leave room for much development.

I’ll give the book high marks for the steam factor, but I couldn’t quite embrace the whole undercover reporter storyline. Kulig has all the ingredients for an erotica novella, but I was left hoping for more of Master Adrian. If nothing else, it would have been satisfying to see Emma get punished for her lack of honesty – in true Dom/sub style.

Emma Fallon is a writer for a tabloid magazine & she's on assignment at an invite only BDSM club. She's trying to get the scoop on anyone famous that goes there. Even though she doesn't feel comfortable writing the article she goes along with it anyways as a way to pay the bills. While she's getting the tour of the club she needs to act like she's a newbie to the scene and not a reporter fishing for a story since anonymity is a major rule of the club.

Adrian Cayne is not only a neurosurgeon, he's also a Master Dom. He's one of the dom's at the club but he's been away from the scene for a few months. Since he was busy finishing up his residency & his last sub had caused some issues for him, he thought it was best to just focus on work. When a mutual friend arranges for Adrian to give Emma a tour of the club he wasn't prepared to be attracted to her or for him to want to train her as his sub. They hit it off really well and everything seems to be smooth sailing till an article comes out about the club with Adrian being front and center of the cover story. That's when Adrian finds out that Emma works for the magazine because her name was printed as the author. Even though she didn't write the story. Needless to say Adrian wasn't to happy & there was some fallout to both Emma & Adrian.

This was a super quick, cute, and steamy read. Both the characters are likable & the plot isn't bad either. If you're looking for something thats quick & wicked hot and steamy to read than I recommend Summer Sins.

Emma wants to make it big in the journalism field. She works for Scandal, a local tabloid magazine. The current project she has been assigned is to dig deep into Dark Odyssey…the new BDSM club in town. After scoring an invite to the exclusive club, Emma begins to explore all of the nuances that the BDSM could offer her.

Mutual friends introduce Emma to Aidan. He is a surgeon, Master, and has been absent from the BDSM scene for a while. The last thing he wants is to train a new submissive, but Emma strikes a desire in Aidan that can’t be ignored. Aidan asks Emma to participate in a series of tests to see if she is a suitable submissive. The two embark on a passion filled exploration.

Emma realizes that she wants nothing more than to explore her deepest desires. Scandal is requiring a ’tell all’ write-up about Dark Odyssey. If Emma can’t deliver, she will lose out on her dreams. Exposing those in the BDSM club will cost Emma friendships, as well as the new relationship she is forming with Aidan. What will she chose? Is a career more important than a future with the hot surgeon?

Summer Sins is a quick read. I think it would have made an awesome full length novel. The relationship between Aidan and Emma could have been a little more drawn out for maximum impact. Overall, fans of erotic genres will enjoy this nouvella.

Thanks to the publisher for providing me an ARC of this title for my review.

There is a lot of BDSM-themed erotica out there, and Summer Sins doesn't really stand out from the crowd. It didn't push my rage buttons like some books do (*cough, Fifty Shades of Grey, cough*), as the author seems to understand the fundamentals of safe, sane, and consensual D/s play, but it didn't push any other buttons for me either, if you know what I mean. *lascivious grin*

The premise was predictable: Emma works for a gossip magazine and is assigned to write a story about a BDSM club, she's always been intrigued by BDSM but hasn't really explored, meets handsome dom willing (after some somewhat bogus reluctance) to initiate her, but she doesn't tell him about her job or the story, and eventually the secret blows up in their faces. The sexytimes were fine, but again, nothing that would set this book apart from the crowd.

This might have worked better as a longer novel, since the character and plot development all had a sort of bare-bones, hasty feel to it, and the Insta-Love conclusion strains all credulity (and would have been more believable if the plot hadn't been so rushed).

Bottom line, if you're a relative newcomer to erotica and tentatively interested in BDSM, this is as fine a place as any to get a well-researched, reasonably well-written overview of the lifestyle, but if you've read much BDSM erotica before, Summer Sins probably won't grab your attention.

I give this book 3 stars.....

Emma Fallon is on assignment undercover at Miami's hottest sex club, TropiX, hoping to write a scandalous article about all of the secrets that go on behind the scenes. She expects to see beautiful people, naked bodies, and lots of BDSM. However, she does expect to meet Dr. Adrian Cayne, a very sexy neurosurgeon, who is attracted to her as well. She wants him to train her in the submissive world while collecting enough details to write her story for her current magazine, Scandal.

Adrian Cayne is consumed with work while he tries to secure a neurosurgeon job at his current hospital. His career forces him to give up his Dom life and he is ready to get back into his pleasures. He is instantly attracted to Emma, however he does not want to train a new submissive. He needs an experienced sub. However, by the end of the night he agrees to go on a date with her in order to test her limits and capability of trust.

Will her article ruin their trusting relationship? I liked the characters of this book. I felt they fell in love too early ( a few dates??) and the last quarter of the book was written too quickly. It was a quick and easy read with some hot scenes and the main characters have great chemistry.

This book is just too short for me, it has the potential to be a full length novel but comes across as an extended short story.

There isn't time to get to know the characters or the lifestyle in the depth I'd have wanted. It feels a bit twee in some ways, too neat and tidy and packaged, especially considering it's an introduction to BDSM, it seems confused over whether or not it's a romance.

There's a good story there, but it needs drawing out, expanding on, more history before the story starts and more detail in between scenes. We have two nights at the club, a meal out and then a charity dinner, the time periods in between are skipped. Because there's so little written about the relationship it doesn't feel genuine. I wanted to know more about Jill, having been introduced as a character and Adrian's previous sub I'd expected something to happen there but it didn't.

It's predictable in some ways, and then it throws a curveball, the scene with the toothbrush being one of them. It was totally unexpected, although Adrian had warned he had 'tests' for Emma.

This would have rated four stars if it hadn't left me feeling I had missed half the story, and I think it would have been a story worth reading.

What can I say I'm a sucker for Doms. This was a fast read but fun and enjoyable. The basic BDSM storyline, where Dom is a bit untrusting and meets new submissive. Submissive is hiding something, that she should have been up front with, falls in love with the Dom that has agreed to train her.

I liked Cynthia and Carter, just loved their spirit. BDSM is not stuff in the least, and both of those characters showed themselves as just a fun part of our lifestyle. I loved the themed rooms, Id love to actually visit a club like that. I was also good to see them mention safewords, and that the slave has the power to stop any scene at any time. Also what the job of DMs are.

Will Adrians mistrust keep him from having his own sub? His last sub was close to losing him his job as a surgeon. (I didnt enjoy how even though Adrian was nice, but He managed to put His Ex-sub in her place) Emma she is playing a dangerous game, and needs to becareful that someone else doesnt sneak her job out from under her. But really what lengths will Emma go to, to complete her assignment? Is the job worth it?

Have fun and enjoy...

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in place of an honest review.

Emma works at magazine called Scandal and she has to get juicy stories. Her next story is a BDSM club named Dark Odyssey. She likes to experience things for herself so she gets really involved in her stories. She meets a couple who are into the scene and goes to the club.

Adrian Cayne is a surgeon and he needs to keep a life of no scandal. If he wants the job he wants at the hospital. He doesn't want to take an inexperienced sub but is willing to take Emma if she can pass some test that he puts her through. He has spent six months out of the scene because of his last sub and he wanted to get where he wanted to in the hospital.

I loved this story and the author did a great job writing it. The cover was different and went along pretty good with the story. In this kind of relationship you have to have trust and honesty. Without that you can't have a relationship. I enjoyed the scenes in this book. I don't know if I could be naked in front of a lot of people but Emma and Adrian makes you take your mind off of that when they play at the club.

Summer Sins is an erotic BDSM novel. I was very intrigued by the premise of the book. Emma, is a struggling writer that is currently working for a tabloid magazine. Part of her assignment is to gain entrance to an exclusive BDSM club and expose the more famous members.

Emma latches on to the assignment due to her burning curiosity. She is interested in become a submissive. Two club members introduce her to Adrian.

Adrian is a successful neurosurgeon that has recently been burned by a series of subs. He is looking to get back into the BDSM scene but the burned child fears the fire. Also, his career requires his lifestyle to remain a secret. Adrian meets Emma, but is hesitant to take her as her sub.

I thought the story began really well. We are introduced to each character and see where the conflict may occur. However, I felt the story moved too fast. But this may be due to the length of the story, it was very short. I feel, if the book were lengthened, it would give the characters the opportunities they need to grow and the story develop at a more "realistic" or believable rate.

This is a novella - app. 75 pages long - so like the book, I'm going to keep this review short and sweet.

There is alot of talk but not much action in this story and for erotica that's just... Disappointing. It would've been ok if the talk was titillating but it wasn't. It was like listening to the beginners guide to BDSM.

Was the action - when it kicked - in hot?
I guess so, but for a book that talked so much about BDSM the sex was a bit... Ordinary. Or more accurately, vanilla with a good dose of kinky spice.

Emma and Adrian's relationship had promise but the book was way too short to do it justice.

It felt rushed and as a result the declarations of love and commitment fell totally flat.

Honestly, I felt a bit cheated by it. It could've been great but it wasn't and I think it was because it was so short. I've read some great erotica from Ellora's Cave that is novella length and this just didn't measure up. I

It's a shame because I think I would've really enjoyed watching the evolution of Adrian and Emma's relationship rather than the jump into instalove the story length required.

I was rather excited to start this book. Reading the summery of Summer Sins I was ready for a HOT BDSM book, and in that aspect it did not disappoint but the story seemed rushed I know it was meant as a short story seeing as it took a whole of 3 hours to read, but I wanted more it went from zero to a hundred in no time at all.

This book does have thing that are not for all people I for one am not into reading about needle play and was happy that was only about a paragraph before it went on. The scenes they did we hot and made me want more but it was all over so fast. It would have been much better if we were able to get to know the people more and get more of their story rather then the wam bam thank you ma'am and happily ever after. I don't know I guess it just kind of fell short.

I enjoyed for a quick read just wished there was more to it, and more of a better story to follow all the little questions I had about the transformation from a vanilla girl to a full blow sub.

Although the story of Adrian and Emma had some promise, despite being a familiar trope, it left much to be desired.

There was no real context provided for either of the character and neither ever became more than two-dimensional figures. There was no warmth, no real personality and no detectable chemistry. And even though some of the scenes described where explicit, they were barely able to elicit a twinge, due to the lack of connection and depth.

The entire book was rather flat, written in an almost unemotional, narrative manner more suited to a reference book or instructional guide, making the story simply un-appealing. The unrealistic and fast conclusion did not help matters.

I always try to find redeeming factors in whatever book I review, but I'm afraid in this case there simply aren't any. The writing although technically fine, is cold and without personality, as are the characters.

I'm sorry I wasn't able to get more out of it.

I wasn't sure if this was going to be a good one, but I read the synopsis and along with it is Ellora's Cave I jumped on and started it. It is a quick read and that was nice I had just finished a long book.

I wanted something that was hot and steamy. I did feel that this lacked in the bdsm aspect though. It had one scene really. He "tested" her to make sure she was submissive and that was well, I don't know he did like 3 or 4 things and I am not sure how that proved if she was submissive or not.

I wanted more BDSM and it just kind of lacked there for me.

I have said it before and well, I am not a fan of instant "I Love You's"
So that kind of was ehhh for me. I wanted more of the "training" kind of thing. More of the explaining on how he does it and why she is the way she is and wants what she wants. But that wasn't there either.

I felt like the only thing that made this BDSM was one scene and the fact that they met in a club. (kink club)

Emma is a reporter and her next assignment is about a new BDSM club -Dark Odyssey. That's where she meets Master Adrian.

She always wanted to explore her sexual limits but Master Adrien doesn't train newbies anymore. However, he opens an exception for Emma.

description

So... I'm a sucker for Doms. And although this was a very short story, I really liked it.

The plot was good for a short storie, there were really hot scenes and I loved Adrian.

The only thing I didn't like was the end. I know it's a short story, but it gave a new meaning to the word 'rushed'.
