One that might be responsible for Rockin the Heart.
I’m a Southern princess—haha—nah! I am Southern, but I came from the wrong side of the tracks in a small Alabama town, just 30 minutes from the Florida state line. I have a dirty mind and I’m not afraid to use it. I live in a small rural town on 40 acres with my husband, dogs, a cat with tortitude (aka a tortie American Bobtail with attitude), cows, horses, and chickens. Everyone seems to love my twang even though I don’t hear it. Are y’all sure I have one?
I love all things paranormal and I drop curse words like commas, so I’m not your typical Southern Belle. All the same... Sweet Home Alabama, y’all!

Rockin' the Heart is book one in the Hot Wired series. Hot Wired is a band made up of Jace, Keys, Fang and Derr....and the tag along Sam, Jace's sister.
This was Fang and Sam's story.
Jace and Sam's parents were killed in a car crash and Sam was pretty much raised by the band. She's crushed on Fang forever but thought Fang only saw her as the little sister. Little did Sam know, Fang crushed on her too.
That's all good, great and fine except neither one wanted to admit their feelings or believed the other could possibly feel the same way. And frankly, this got old an annoying.
Sam is a bit of a trouble maker....which I never really got. We're talking getting arrested type of trouble maker. She's never really formed her own identity outside of the band. Doesn't have a lot of friends, her own interests, etc. No real purpose.
Her last bout of trouble finds Sam and Fang in a sex shop almost kissing....don't even ask. Now the world thinks they are together and the band's PR person want to exploit that....fake or not. Which honestly made no sense to me whatsoever.
So now Fang and Sam are fake dating only they both want to be real dating. You following me? But they continue with the ruse of believing the other doesn't feel that way. Blah blah blah.
And then when they do FINALLY agree to date for real they act completely immature. Trying to make each other jealous, etc. I mean Sam was 19, so I guess I shouldn't really be surprised. But still?
Jace was kind of an ass about the whole relationship. He didn't think anyone was good enough for Sam, especially not Fang. Afterall, they are all man-whores and aren't capable of a real relationship.
Really, if you ask me they all coddled her.
Then we have a big event involving Jace....which again I was not a fan of.
But of course this event allows Jace to see what an ass he has been and can now give Fang and Sam his blessing.
There was a bit of a set up as well for Jace's book which honestly, did not intrigue me at all. So I don't think I will be continuing on with this series. Pointless. Zero chemistry between the MCs. The H goes from banging every groupie he can get his hands on for years, all witnessed one way or another by the h over the many many years he spends banging them. But then literally overnight, all of a sudden, he wants only her, he knows he's always loved her and she just gives in to him, bam just like that. Yeah another easy h who makes it all so easy for the whore of a H yet again. You know, cause the second he touches her, she can't resist him at all.
Anyone gets their hands on a strong h who actually makes it hard for the H to get her, please let me know. Sadly, in this story I found the h pathetic.
In the future, yeah this mega manwhore rockstar with the fine layer of sleaze glistening off him, I can see him cheating on her.
“Without you I am a hollow man, lyrics without music, notes minus the beat.”
This is the story of Heath “Fang” Fangor (lead singer of the band “Hot Wired”) and Sam Collins (sister of the drummer of “Hot Wired”). Heath has had feelings for Sam for past few years but never thought it was a good idea to act upon them. When the opportunity occurs, he decides to give it a goal and try to win her heart.
Sam is the absolute rebel. She has lived in the shadow of the band for years and she struggles to cope with the pressure form the fans and the media. She doesn’t know what she wants to do with her life so she does all kinds of stupid things (like stealing cars and bar fights). She has a crush on Heath since forever. But with her overprotective brother and Heath’s record with women…she does not want to get involve with him. Yeah…but due to some misunderstanding she has to! Or least she has to pretend she is in a relationship with Heath.
Okay…so my thoughts:
I didn’t love this book. I enjoyed some pasts of it…but overall it didn’t work for me. The story had a potential but it lacked good execution. Basically it was the same thing repeating during the whole time.. At least there are some really hot scenes but this is not enough for me...
A good rock story ... Heath is the lead singer of the band Hot Wired ... Sam is the sister of the band’s drummer Jase ... Jase is also Heath’s best friend ... Sam and Heath have a thing for each other since they were kids ... One mistake in front of paparazzi and they are forced to pretend that they are in relationship ... Jase is not the fan of the two of them being together, but for the sake of the fans he goes beyond that ... Sam and Heath can not long hide their feelings, and so their fake relationship becomes a real one ... not everyone agrees with that, Jake is furious, he thinks Heath will break his sister's heart ... He was an asshole to them ... and I really didn’t like him till the end of the book ... Sam found herself between the two of them ... she wanted to be with Heath but also she was afraid how her relationship will affect the band ...
FREAKIN FANTABULOUS!!! Full review: A huge fan of Gracen Miller's paranormal books, I was extremely excited to see her venture in to the NA Contemporary genre. Her brilliant writing skills in which she lyrically brings you in to the world she has created. It just causes me to let out a little squeal of giddiness... So, here we are....Rockin the Heart..... Taking my love of music and reading and combining them...Bringing in the HOT rockers that make your heart beat so fast that you ultimately melt in to a pile of goo on the floor...YEP...this is the perfect tale for my fantasies. Falling in love with a rocker god? HELLS YEAH!! BUT...Rockin the Heart isn't the typical boy meets girl and they fall in love... Insert twist in plot and now my interest is highly piqued. How is this going to be the epic romance I want? Well, just you wait and see....Gracen Miller did not disappoint...NOT ONE SINGLE BIT!!!! In Rockin the Heart, she spins a web of turmoil with sexy steamy passion that brings you to your knees dying to know what is going to happen to this couple. From the very beginning you can see the sexual tension between Heath and Sam. It was basically just oozing off the pages. But, their story was so much deeper than the physical attraction. I loved the history that these two shared. I loved how they were brutally honest (yet kept a certain secret to themselves) with each other and the loyalty they showed to each other. Being in the spotlight is a double edged sword that for the celebrity status of the band Hot Wired. It can be phenomenal and bring in the fans and it can also be fatal when it comes to private relationships... Will these two survive and break the odds? Or will they short fuse and die out fast?? With an intriguing, impressive, alluring cast, Rockin the Heart pumps out a scorching tale that will have you tapping your toes, bobbing your head, and swaying to the melody; caught up in the lyrical love of Heath and Sam as they are "rockin the heart"...
Once again ladies and gentlemen, Gracen Miller has made me fall in love with her. She needs to stop with these actions because soon I may resort to stalking her. As you can tell I loved this book and let me explain why. This is not going to be easy because no spoilers here folks. Ahhhh I just want to tell y'all everything lol.
So we meet Sam(Samantha) during a small predicament that she has once again gotten herself into. Now to tell you, I didn't like Sam at first, she came off a little to bratty for me. But then again she is 20, a little spoiled and female. But the more I got to know her, the less I thought this of her. You eventually get to see that she is strong, stubborn, feisty, sexy and a hellion(direct quote here). She completely grew on me. I loved it, I loved her. It was almost like you, in a way, got to see her grow up and mature some in this book. Awesomesauce! Well come to find out she has some series feelings for her brothers best friend, Heath. Sigh, not only is he the best friend but he is also part of the group that helped to raise her after her and Jase's parents died. Oh and the lead singer to Hot Wired, the band that they are all a part of. Now Heath... I bounced back and forth with him so many times. At first I loved him, than I wanted to strangle him and then ohhh but I hated the man. I was ready to cut his balls off myself. Trust me, you will understand my anger when you read. I still haven't fully forgave him for that either lol. What? I hold grudges, serious ones. So anyways, we find out he is the lead singer and quite the man whore. But the whole time he has also secretly had feelings for Sam. He could never dream she would feel the same way, so like any normal person he tried to ignore his feelings. But after an incident in a sex toy(oh yeah) store, Sam and Heath finally get to put these feelings to the test. Are their feelings true? Can they survive the possible fallout that would happen if things don't work out? Can Sam live a life truly in the limelight? Can Heath live a life without her or will it break him for good? Welcome to a story where you will learn if love is worth the risk.
So as I said, I loved this story. I loved the characters. I am so in love with the band mates, Dixon and Omega also(serious swoonage). Might as well call me a groupie now. Oh but Jase did irk me quite a bit. I got the overprotective brother thing but at times he did push it to far. This story had me laughing, crying, getting mad and squirming in my seat. All that wrapped up into one book can kill a person. This book deserves a warning label. I loved how this book had me going in so many directions, right when I knew everything was going to be ok, BAM! Something happened that had me questioning everything. Loved it! Fantastic writing, it slowed a little in some places but it quickly picked back up. And hey Gracen, was that a little set up for another story? Sneaky, sneaky lady. I must also add that I loved the use of the quick almost cheesy lines every guy in this book dished out. I am such a sucker for those. And the fact that you used y'all and "Dear baby Jesus" a lot. I could definitely see the Alabama in this story, made me happy. Oh and only one tiny complaint, the end... well I dunno. I guess maybe I pictured a little bit more. Something was missing from it. But it was still really good. So as you can tell from my crazy rambling review that was not easy to write, I loved this book and I demand that everyone read it, like now. Ok well actually you have to wait for it to come out but you get me.
My song for this book: Through the Iris by 10 Years
Gracen Miller's Rockin' the Heart goes a beat above the rest. This New Adult Contemporary Romance had me hooked at first glance with the main character's monologue in the opening scene. As a seasoned writer, Miller delivers a unique story with the right amount of steamy romance, incredible character development, and a third-degree burning anticipation for that first kiss.
Sam, the saucy main character, is in love with the one man that's off limits—her brother's best friend, Heath "Fang" Fangor. Heath is the sex icon rock star that every girl dreams of, but no girl's been able to claim. When Sam playfully pushes Heath's buttons, little does she know that he'll push hers right back and harder. Is he genuinely interested in her, or is he playing the rockstar game he plays with every girl? Filled with self-doubt and confused, Sam puts up a fight, but Heath won't back down. And as if Sam's life wasn't already complicated enough, she also has to deal with her brother, Jase, who happens the be the band's drummer and her only family. Looks like Sam might be the cause of Hot Wired's band breakup if she doesn't play the right notes. Readers, get ready to have your world rocked!
WOW….Sigh…..I am speechless!!! This book is every girl’s wet dream!!! This book is also a guy’s dream as well, I mean, seriously, how many guys have dreamt about being a famous rock star and sex magnet? I was addicted to this story from beginning to end. This author has a knack for luring in her audience and keeping us entertained for hours of reading pleasure, and this story is no different.
This author set us up in a dream world that we have all dreamt about in one life or another. I love the way the author tied in the HUGE sellout band and the life of a girl, who wants a normal life, but is trapped in her brother’s shadow. I absolutely love the characters in the story. As I read, I felt as if I was watching a movie in my head. Though, I do have to admit that I was dreaming myself as Sam. 'Fang', or Fangor, I can only describe as HAWT!!! This was a phenomenal romance story that will tug at your heart strings and keep you WANTING to turn page after page, just to get a peek at what will happen next. I highly recommend this book to Young Adults and Adults to enjoy, both male and female alike. This book has been deemed my #1 best romance story of 2014.
I received this eARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
5 Rockin’, Super Sexy Stars! Four Hot, Steamy Rockers That Will Set You On Fire and Have You Beggin' For More!
The Review: First off, I want to say how much I appreciate Gracen Miller for allowing the opportunity to read and review her latest masterpiece. She’s a fabulous writer and her talent really shines super bright in this book. I was hooked from the start with the edgy, provocative heroine and the rockin’ hot alpha hero. They burned up the pages with their chemistry and if I wasn’t already a huge fan of this authors work, this book would have cemented her as one of my all time favorites.
Story... Samantha Collins is a twenty year old hellion who’s been trying to live up to her own reputation as the troublemaking sidekick to her brothers band, Hot Wired. After her parents died when she was a young teen, her brother took her on the road with him and his band and along with all the parties, drinking and rockin’ out, there was little time for discipline or the time to suss out an identity of her own. Having been wrapped up so long in the bands orbit, Sam’s never had time to create a future thats away from the paparazzi who are constantly recording her life, so she acts out in a rebellious way. And what's worse, she’s in love with the lead singer, Fang, who is most definitely off limits and who she thinks only sees her as a little sister. She literally has no control over her own life.
Heath Fangor is the sexy lead singer of Hot Wired who’s had an endless procession of fangirls in his bed. He’s no novice to no-hassle one night stands, in fact preferring them. But since Sam turned eighteen and his view of the gangly teenager turned sexy vixen changed, he’s had a hard time watching her move through life and not being able to act on his hidden desires for her.
After Sam gets in trouble once again and Fang has to rescue her and a flirtatious video of the two of them goes viral, the bands press agents decides to capitalize on the media storm, forcing Sam and Fang to play out a fake romance. Only thing is, with both having feelings for the other one, the fake romance soon turns real. But not everyone is on board with these two would-be lovers and soon the band members find themselves taking sides.
Characters... How sexy was Fang? Sexy as hell! Thats how! Wow, this guy totally had me panting between scenes with the way he dominated his way past Sam’s walls. Once he decided to take up arms and fight for what he wanted, which was Sam, no one was going to tell him he couldn’t have her. He charged in and stole Sam’s heart as well as my own. His swagger, his dialogue and his confidence all shined through in the authors phenomenal writing and truly made Fang one of the best rock characters I’ve read to date. I loved him!
Quote Spotlight... "You're all I want, Sam. You're the chords that pluck my heart and create the music inside me. Without you I am a hollow man, lyrics without music, notes minus the beat." -- Fang
Sam was wonderfully chaotic! I absolutely loved her. She was wild, out of control and her loyalty was inspiring. And though she was tough she had a vulnerable side she hid behind all that rough exterior. She wanted out of the limelight desperately but even when she tried to control herself, the media created fanfare so she decided to just go with the flow and really live life to its fullest.
I loved the dynamics of the band. They might have had their differences but they were a real family. I enjoyed all their dialogue, their playfulness and their individuality. The author gives each one their own unique voice and I hope each character gets their own individual story. And with the events that happened towards the end, there was a perfect setup for things to come.
The Wrap Up: Simply irresistible, this book captivated me from beginning to end with its beautifully written prose, sexy and steamy characters and superb storytelling. In conclusion, I absolutely loved it.
*No major spoilers. If you want to know more, read that book. You will not regret it*
I am so grateful to be part of this blog tour and to have had the chance of reading Rockin' the Heart ^^ I simply just loved this book! Every single minute of it. The day I started it before I knew it I had already read over a 100 pages and it was past 4 in the morning due to me not starting until it late that night. Made me kind of sad that I was already that far, less to read the next day -so damn, haha. I loved the plot of the story with the guy being in love with the best friend's sister and her being in love with him. It adds a lot of fun drama to the mix and a lot of that "Oh no we can't do this" -back and forth between them and in this it was even "worse" since they all three were living under the same roof. The great thing was that it didn't at all turn out like I thought, it was even better! Sometimes in these situations there can a lot, even too much, back and forth between the two in love and in the end it gets kind of annoying, but that was not at all the case in this one, I actually liked that it seemed like they both knew pretty quickly that they had feelings for eachother and weren't gonna let anything get in their way, so for once it was nice to actually get a look into the relationship rather than the relationship happening in the end, like with most books. Of course that doesn't mean that there weren't problems that they had to figure out in order to get everything to work. So, adding a hot rockstar to the mix of this makes it even better! I loved Heath "Fang" Fangor. Not only is he a freaking rockstar (lead singer I might add), but the guy reads! *swoon* And he knew what he wanted and went for it! Can't not love that! Then we have Sam. At first you get the impression she's.. well a brat as Fang calls her, but still fun and really entertaining, but as the story moves along you find out her reasons for her actions and understand why she did what she did. With her relationship with Fang she grows up and learns to handle things differently. Her brother Jase on the other hand I could get really annoyed with. I guess in some way he was the "bad guy" in all of this since he stood in the way of Sam and Fang's romance. I actually really liked when there were the chances to look into his mind and see his way of thinking and get things from his POV. Made me like him a bit more in the end of it. The story moved along in a fast pace and were filled with hot and steamy scenes between Sam and Heath, rock concerts and crazy fans, drama and fights. All the good stuff and all of it well written. Great plot. Check. Great characters. Check. All around a great read! My only complaint... I wish it could have been longer ;)
Highly suggested for 18+ Author Gracen Miller has done it again. I honestly do not think there is a genre she cannot write and write it well. Gracen has taken New Adult Contemporary and blown it away!
This is not your typical innocent girl falls for the bad boy rocker story. Oh no my friends. In this book, the lead female character Sam is a rebellious HELL raising "little"sister to the drummer of THE hottest rock band, Hot Wired. Instead of the quiet and peaceful life she craves, she lives it fast, wild and with no regards for consequences because she knows the connections her brother Jase and his band mates have will bail her out. Or so she thinks...
The band Hot Wired: they are young, long haired, gorgeous, not afraid to party with their fans both on stage and off and known for their insatiable sexual appetites. These guys can sing, play music and entertain in ways that have both men and women drooling and panting after their concerts.
When Sam's brother Jase lays down the law and tells her he will not bail her out again, she has to rely on Heath "Fang" Fanger, lead singer and Jase's best friend to come bail her out. Tired of being treated as Jase's poor little sister, Sam decides she is going to take things one step further tonight and really go all out. She pushes the envelope too far with Fang when thing heat up to her surprise. Does she make a HUGE mistake that could destroy the band, ruin Jase and Fang's friendship and possibly a relationship that could have been for her?
YOU will find out once you pick up Rockin the Heart today!!!!
Loved by millions, but shunned by blood, Heath “Fang” Fangor has led his band, Hot Wired, to the top while others have fallen by the wayside. He devoted his life to music, and from that devotion harvested a new family—his band mates and fans.

To have her, he will have to risk it all.
There were a few things to like about the book. Well, two things...Derringer and Keys, supporting cast (until their own books) and band members to the main characters Heath Fangor (really????) and Samantha Collins.
Minor Spoilers:
It’s a combination of Rock Star/Best Friend’s sister romance. Heath wasn’t horrible, but there is a lot of mentions about how he has treated women since he became a rock star and only now is he realizing how poor that was. Even though he’s had feelings for Sam for ages and the band raised her on tour when she was a teenager. Sure, he feels bad /now/ but what about all the stuff they did that she was witness to was okay before he wanted to bang her? Come on.
Sam is the most annoying voice to listen to in the story. She’s immature, selfish, whiny and hard to care about. Especially as everyone is falling all over her telling her how she’s too good for anyone, and no one is deserving of her, all while reminding her and her brother that she’s smoking hot all the time.
That said, the book wasn’t horrible. It had potential, but that potential was wasted through constant and repeated repetition ad nauseum (get it?? Ha!). Sam needed a good smack to the head and for all the mentions of Alabama football, there was not one Roll Tide.
With her killer wit and oh so steamy romance Gracen Miller has done it again. I didnt want to put it down and completed it in two days spread between responsibilities. If you like your heroines sassy and your men devilishly handsome with tats this is a great read.
It said I bought this book January 2014! I saw the new book and figured I'd bring this book back up and read again! I'm so glad I did! I loved it!! I'm on book two now lol I'm a little upset that it's gonna cost me a bit to finish the series lol thank you Gracen Miller for an amazing read!!
This is the first rocker series I have read. I can only say it was amazing and hot. Loved the characters and their connections to each other. I’m sure I’ll read it many times it was so good
Wow, loved the sassy Sam, I really like the banter between heath and Sam. They make a cute couple. So glad Jase gave his blessing. This is such a good book.
I enjoyed this book. A lot. I will admit that when I first started to read it, I was weary as to what to expect. I knew the book dealt with love and music, but I wasn't sure what I was going to read. And though it was slow to get into, it soon picked up and I found myself halfway through the book in a day. This is a unique book, being that it deals with a love that was already there to begin with, but was hidden by just fear. Samantha is a rebel, one we've all come across in our lives; either in ourselves or another person who was too crazy to tame. She loves to push buttons and when she pushes her crush, things spiral and soon she's caught up in a romance she'd only dreamed about. Gracen plunges into the troubles this family has, but also shows how much this rag tag group of friends actually love each other. I wept a bit towards the end, feeling the heart strings get pulled as trouble shakes everyone. I can't explain too much without spoilers. So I hope you all will trust me enough to give this book a try and understand that this is a great book that doesn't deal with supernatural, but with rocker humans dealing with the hurdles of life.
I received a copy of Rockin’ The Heart, by Gracen Miller, in exchange for an honest review. I’m not one for spoilers, so you may consider this review even more of a tease, but I would hate to give anything away that would spoil the suspense and surprise of this awesome story.
Once I started it, I couldn’t put it down. A few nights of minimal sleep, in the desperate pursuit to find out how this story ends, led me down the path to discovery of Gracen Miller’s extraordinary writing talents. She paints her characters and story lines in such a three dimensional way, the reader gets drawn in instantly, and becomes so engrossed in the tale, you can’t flip the pages fast enough to find out what happens next.
A rocker by heart, most of my youth, (and yes, admittedly still today,) was spent lost in the twang and belting out of electric melodies and captivated by the sway of long hair, tattoos and swagger of Rock Gods in tight leather pants. I’m a sucker for the edgy genre and rock tunes from the heart that make you want to live forever. Perhaps, that is so much of why this story resonated with me in the powerful way it did.
The hero, Heath Fangor, is the seductive, enigmatic collective of all the great 80’s and 90’s rock star crushes I never recovered from. From his viral appearance, to his protective, dominating nature and back again, to the uber sensual man, oozing sex from his pores, he is the perfect wet dream come to life on the pages of Rockin’ The Heart.
Sam Collins, the sassy, tough rock sister with an attitude, she is the kick ass vixen I love reading and writing about. Easy to love once you get past her rebellious exterior, I found myself routing for her to move past her reservations and surrender to love, and to Heath. The complications that arise over the brewing lust-fest leaves you reeling with frustration and hope all rolled into one, that the couple can conquer the impossible obstacles and get down to business.
The secondary characters were just as powerful, the conflict; intense, the setting; surreal. Gracen managed to capture and retell life in the limelight as a fast-paced, addictive lifestyle-believable would be an injustice to describe the inter-personal relationships she managed to create and fortify with the group of endearing characters in this plot.
Hats off to author, Gracen Miller, my idol. Your technique, world building and character development, transported me into the long coveted life of rock and rollers I always fantasized about. The roller coaster of emotions you evoked had me laughing, crying and ready to spit nails. And then there was the most unexpected black moment, just when I thought they got through their tribulations, left me devastated and sobbing over my eReader.
Can Sam and Heath overcome and find love in each other’s arms? As much as I would like to tell you, you’re just going to have to get your copy of Rockin’ The Heart and find out for yourself. What I will say, is I would recommend this book, and this sensational author to anyone looking to get invested in fantastic writing and story lines in search of a HEA. Bravo, Gracen, and thank you for the exquisite escape.
'I was given a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review'
Heath or Fang as the public knows him has been in love with his best friend and Drummer's sister Samantha for years. He knows that he can never pursue her however as he knows Jase would not want someone like him with his baby sister. Hell she probably only thinks of him like a brother as he and the other band mates pretty much helped Jase raise her after their parents passed away. However one night she decides to torment him and has him stop at an adult toy store he can't help but almost kiss her. Unknown to them at first they were being recorded. Now their publicist wants them to act like they are a couple until the end of their tour. The only problem is Heath doesn't want to pretend. He wants it to be real.
Sam want's out of this life. She never asked for it. She hates being followed everywhere she goes. So she purposely acts out and raises hell so that her brother will finally just let her leave and go home. She can't stay there and watch Heath with woman after woman all the time knowing he thinks of her as a sister and she is in love with him. When an almost kiss ends up all over the internet the bands publicist decides that they need to be a pretend couple she flat out says no. For one she doesn't want to do that to Heath she feels bad enough for putting him in that position to begin with. For another thing she can't pretend this knowing that her heart will be breaking every day they go through with a sham like that.
My Opinion:
I LOVED this book! These types of books are right up my alley. I absolutely loved Heath and Sam's characters. How can I not like someone with the same name as me? lol. I did not like Sam's brother Jase however. He was probably one of the biggest jerks or have ever seen or read about. This was the first book that I have read from this author and I will definitely be reading more. I think that she came up with a great story. I feel like she probably got the lifestyle of a rock star pretty accurate. I can picture a Rock stars , especially young ones, life being like that. I was totally into the book right from the beginning and couldn't put it down. I highly recommend reading. If you don't like raunchy out of control behavior and steamy sex then this is not the book for you. If you do like those things then this book will be right up your alley and I can only hope that you love this book by Gracen Miller as much as I did!
This is the first book I've read of Gracen's that isn't paranormal, and I believe that is because it is her first time to write a non-paranormal book. Genre did not matter, the Gracen touch is still there, this book is fantastic. It is a little tame for a Gracen book, but only a little. The characters are still HAWT!
What I liked about the book: The characters were fun, real, and raw. For the most part, I felt that this could have been the story of a real band. I've read things about members of the band behaving one way on stage, but in reality they just wanted a normal life off the stage. I can only imagine how resentful one would get after a life that is lived under a microscope.
Sam is a rebel, trouble finds her even when she isn't looking for it, although most of the time she is. She doesn't think about the ripple effect her actions can have on the band or her relationships with the band members. At first glance you think she doesn't care how it effects anyone, but truth be told, she does. She loves the band, and she seems to have a real sense of what it takes to connect with the fans. The few interactions you see between her and the fans makes you think she has missed her calling.
Heath/Fang is a rock god - and women will do anything to be with him just for a moment. He does not do relationships, it is purely for him. In any other situation you would think he was a complete dick, but as you get to know him, you just fall for him. You learn the differences between Heath and Fang, and you want them both!
Each band member becomes important to you, it isn't just how you feel about Fang (and you will have feelings for him because he is beyond sexy) or Jase. Each member is important to the story, each make the story worth reading.
No one, I repeat, NO ONE writes a hot scene like Gracen. I've read many, and some are really good, and some come close but I've never read anyone who can take something that would make Christian Grey blush, and turn it into a romantic scene. She has this ability to make her characters ooze sex, and yet be smooth and romantic at the same time. It is definitely a gift.
What I didn't like about the book: It ended.
Would I recommend this book: Most definitely! If sex scenes offend you, you can skip over them, but you really get a lot of information about the characters in them, and they are rather tastefully done.
My review for: Rockin’ the Heart by Gracen Miller My rating: 5 out of 5 stars Shanna Roberson
Just wow. Being a HUGE fan of Gracen’s Road to Hell series, I was expecting a great read, but damn! Rockin’ the Heart was FANTASTIC! First off, I am not a big contemporary romance fan. I generally stick to the otherworldly romances, but there are no words. I am addicted to Fang and the rest of the Hot Wired crew. Seductive and saucy, Sam Collins is absolutely swoon-worthy herself.
Health ‘Fang’ Fangor is the ultimate bad boy. Sex god of a rock star, he is used to getting what he wants when he wants it. But when his wants turn to his best friend’s little sister, things get complicated. And he might have to deny himself the one woman who could possibly make an honest man out of him.
Sam Collins is used to being in the spotlight. Being the ‘troubled, twenty year old’ sister of the sex symbol drummer of the hottest band around, Hot Wired; she is used to being the paparazzi’s punching bag. They were always watching and waiting for a juicy slip up so they can tear her down bit by bit. And she loathed it. The only good thing about being part of the group was she got to ogle her brother’s best friend, Fang. Being completely smitten with the one guy she can’t have, Sam tells herself that is enough that she has him in her life even if it is a platonic relationship. But as the attraction get too much for either of them to bear, will they be able to deny the overwhelming desire for one another? Even if it means destroying friendships and maybe even destroying the band?
Addictive. Sexy. Swoon-worthy in so many levels. Gracen Miller takes this genre and totally makes it her own. She was the ability to write the sexiest men out there, ruining you for all other guys. Unable to put this book down, it led to one massive book hangover and one pair of not so dry panties. Can’t wait for more Hot Wired . . . Rawr!
Sam Collins hates the fact that she's always in the limelight. It's not her choice. It never has been. She refuses to sit on the sidelines while everyone in the band, Hot Wired, lives their lives exactly how they want to do live them. In her mind, she has a right to be happy, too. Which is why she'll do everything to assert herself when it comes to having fun and calling the shots every chance she gets.
When things spiral out of control, and Sam lands herself in more hot water, the group decides that enough is enough. Though she knows exactly why she does what she does, she refuses to bend to the boys' whims. They just want what's best for her, something she understands quite well. Unfortunately, it's hard to be exactly what they want her to be when they clip her wings so much. If only they'd let her do what she truly wants to do. Perhaps then, she'd settle down some, and stop causing so much trouble.
Her life soon takes an unexpected turn when the band's front man takes an interest in her. Sam isn't quite sure as to what to make of the new turn of events. Granted, she's been attracted to Fang for ages. She's just never said so. Determined to make the most of the situation she now finds herself in, she decides to play things to the hilt. It's her only way of coping with the way Fang makes her feel. The question is, will she come out on top once everything is said and done? Or will Fang break her heart in the process?
This is one book you're never going to want to put down. Rockin' The Heart pulls you in from beginning to end. Gracen has done an awesome job in telling a titillating story that's both bittersweet and sexy to read. It was awesome seeing Sam butt heads with the band, most especially her brother. The scenes between her and Fang were definitely steamy, and their banter more so. I enjoyed this book very much, and know you will, too.
In Rockin' the Heart, Gracen Miller steps away from the paranormal romance we know and love her for and gives us this incredible story of a rock god and his fiery woman. As much as I love all of Gracen's other books, there was something incredibly special about this one. I tip my hat to an author that writes genuinely amazing stories that capture readers hearts everywhere.
What do you get when you take a young, hot-as-sin front man of a successful band and add in a trouble making hellion in the form of a young and beautiful girl? Explosive chemistry and one of the best books I've read in the past year. *sigh* Rockin' the Heart made my heart sing! The story is sexy, emotional, and an all around great read. Gracen will draw readers in with her signature writing style and her amazing story telling techniques!
The set up for this story was amazing. I loved that Heath and Sam harbored deep feelings for one another several years prior to the beginning of the story. It makes their relationship strong and has you rooting for them the whole way through!
Fang is the perfect bad boy- (which earned him the spot as my newest Book Boyfriend!;)) He's far from perfect, but that's what is so great about him. Pair him up with a troubled twenty year old that's just as imperfect as he is and you have the perfect couple. Add in scandals, lots of tattoos, and a group of equally entertaining and hilarious band mates and you have the perfect story.
The rest of the Hot Wired series is going to be amazing and I look forward to watching all the character's stories unfold.
Author: Gracen Miller Title: Rocking The Heart Series: Hot Wired Summary: Loved by millions, but shunned by blood, Heath “Fang” Fangor has led his band, Hot Wired, to the top while others have fallen by the wayside. He devoted his life to music, and from that devotion harvested a new family—his band mates and fans.
A man can desire nothing else…or can he?
Living in the shadow of her brother’s fame sucks! Sam Collins is desperate to have what she wants—a simple and uncomplicated life. She’s no stranger to scandals and how they work. Now that she’s inadvertently dragged Fang into the center of her latest gossip, could the scandal she created in her quest for freedom have gone too far?
Amid stardom the heart stages a new melody…
Fang has more fame and fortune than he will ever need, but none of that matters if he can’t have the woman of his dreams. Years have been wasted waiting for the right moment to approach the woman his heart desires above all others. There’s just one major problem...she’s his best friend’s sister. To have her, he will have to risk it all.
One that might be responsible for Rockin the Heart! Review I loved Rockin the Heart, I fell in love with Heath “Fang” Fangor, totally dreamy, a rock God, who lives like one, so there is plenty of sexual content in this book, so definitely not for under 18’s, but as an erotic fiction it is one of my new faves, I have loved all of this authors work, but I do believe this is her best work to date, really looking forward to book 2, Loved the ending, no cliff-hanger, hate that in a series, would recommend highly to all who enjoy a good love story with a-bit of oomph, 5/5
If you don't like books that make you tingle, then you definitely need to skip this one... If you like hot rock stars, then keep reading... Heath is the lead singer of Hot Wired. Sam is his best friend's rebellious sister. Together, the two sizzle on the pages. Living the life of a celebrity doesn't come without a price. What starts out as a publicity stunt, turns into something more for Sam and Heath. I loved how their fake romance sparked the flame that they had been trying to ignore for so long. There are many obstacles thrown in their way. Obsessed groupies, her protective brother Jase (who is also in the band) and a publicist that will stop at nothing to keep the band in the spotlight. Heath has a reputation as a womanizer. He loves them and leaves them as their band tours the country. Sam is guarded, afraid that she will be another woman that Heath tosses aside. Can Heath convince her that those days are over and that she is the only one that he will ever love? Or will she leave it all behind to save her heart? While the book is HOT, it does have a deeper story. They have been friends since she was a young girl and deciding whether or not you want to risk losing that friendship is the real challenge. I have to admit that I fell a little in love with Sam's brother Jason. While he was an ass most of the time, he melted your heart with how much love he had for his sister. I can't wait for his story to be told in book 2!
There are no words for how sexy and enjoyable this book was to read. From right out of the gate, Rockin' the Heart is fast pace and gets your blood hot, hot, hot! It is not often that I give a five star review for a book, but this one really took that spot for me. Author Gracen Miller created believable, lovable, and flawed characters that you could really feel deep down to your soul. Once you start reading the book, you simply cannot put it down.
Rockin' the Heart is the first book the Hot Wired series. Hot Wired is one of the world's wildest and most successful bands. This heathen reputation is what creates such great tension as lead singer, Heath "Fang" Fanger finds himself falling for the little sister of the band's drummer Jase. Though both he and Samantha Collins try to fight their growing interest in each other, their flirty ways finds them in all kinds of trouble.
The story shows a real rock star world, everything one would think would be there. Wild parties, debauchery, and crazy paparazzi, all while showing that rock stars are still real people. Being from Alabama myself, I loved the touch of reference to the band's home town as well. After all, not all famous people start out in Hollywood.
I have and will recommend this book to anyone who loves sexy romance stories they can't put down. It is so well done that it would appeal to a vast amount of people who love to read sexy stories, and I certainly cannot wait for more.
I have been a fan of Gracen Miller's books for a very long time. When I saw where she was starting a new series I could not wait to check it out. It is amazing!! Sam and Heath are both such strong characters that from their first interaction sparks flew. Heath struggles with his feelings for Sam because she is his best friend and band mate's little sister. Sam struggles with the spotlight on all of them because of the band and can not possibly consider Heath being interested in her as anything but a little sister. She also struggles with balancing her life and her brother's.There was so much banter back and forth between Sam and Heath that was fun. Sam also seems to hold her own with the rest of the band mates and her brother. I did not put this one down from start to finish. There were times when I laughed, times that I wanted to cry, and yes times I was ready to sit them down and shake some sense into them both. Sam and Heath are a good balance for one another. I loved all the band mates and look forward to reading more about them. I am going to recommend this book to all my friends who are interested in reading New Adult Contemporary. Gracen Miller wrote yet another amazing story and I hope to see more in this series. I was provided a copy for review but will be buying a copy to share with a friend soon. I loved it.
