At the age of twelve, Dino Springs committed an act that no one his age should have ever had to. The end result was his mother putting him out on the streets, and from that moment, Dino only knew how to be in survival mode. He found someone to take him in, and that man created nothing short of a monster. He taught Dino how to drive and from that point on, Dino was everything from a drug mule to a murderer for hire. He became excellent with putting his murder game down and for the right price, he'd take anybody out. Anybody except women and children. All he cares about these days is making sure his younger sister doesn't want for anything. Dino keeps his head down, minds his business, and stays to himself because he chooses not to get attached to people. Little does he know, that accepting a job from a wealthy client will change his life forever.
Mercedes Blackwell has no idea what she did to be put on the list of most hated by the man above but for the past six years, she's lived in hell. Married to a man that she was promised to by her own mother, Mercedes pretty much lives in a house of horrors and mentally plots her escape daily. Never could she have imagined that her knight in shining armor would be a man that took lives for a living.
Dino and Mercedes are wounded souls trying to make it each day. Dino and Mercedes are both dealing with the aftermath of their trash ass mothers. Dino saves Mercedes and of course sparks fly. Dino and Mercedes were able to find love in each other and finally get the happily ever after they deserved.
P.S I’m not sure if there’s a warning but there is DV in this book
Two wounded souls who come together and bond over their misery. Mercedes was married to a man who was ten years older than her and bought her from her mother. Dino was thrown out of his home by his mother at the age of 12. Where in the heck did these mothers come from? They not only had one child, but had the audacity to have two. Mercedes was being beat by her husband and Dino was a hitman. What a combination! But eventually they fell in love and beat all the odds. The story was well written, flowed well and the character development of Mercedes and Dino was awesome.
There was not even balance in this story for it to an enjoyable read. There’s a different between dark and negative and this story sat in negativity for far too long. The main characters retelling about their despicable mothers and the damage they caused them so repetitively that it was just too much. I heard you the first time. However the biggest offense was the secondary character, Milan. Milan’s purged expressing her despair in detail about her fertility issues every month gave me PTSD. Milan was too unlikeable and cringe worthy. I sighed every time her name appeared. The title doesn’t truly fit this trauma bonding tale. I have several books from Ms. Raynor and this book does not reflect her typical offerings.
This wasn’t one of my favorites from Natisha. It was just unrealistic in my personal opinion but I’m not going to say anything else because Natisha IS one of my favorite authors.
Mercedes mammy was terrible why did she kids because she didn't even like her two girls. Mercedes was beaten six years of her marriage. I think she knew that Theo was beating on Mercedes. Dino mammy took the cake too. This woman almost let her daughter be r**pd, if it wasn't for her brother, he would have succeeded it. If it wasn't for Solomon taking Dino under his wing, he would have still made it. Akilah wanted the best for her brother. The heifer with Tyrique knew what she was doing, that's why Dino busted his nose and everything. Milan is better off without Amon . Monique was jealous when Dino walked in with Mercedes on his arm and when her cousin walked over there and hugged her too. I'm happy for Silva's on his engagement and Mercedes and Dino getting together
This book was great. Loved how two wounded souls connected. Akilah knew her brother needed to feel loved by someone other than herself. Even though Dino loved his sister she wanted him to feel that love from Mercedes. With all the abuse Mercedes indored I'm glad she still oen her heart to give love and reserve it. All and all this was a great read. Way to go Natisha.
I felt so bad for Mercedes they way her mom and Theo treated was just sick. Dino was getting my nerves the way he was treating Mercedes and she was so forgiving 🤯. They definitely were two lost souls that seemed to grow bright when they were together.
The only I didn’t like about this is I hope we get more from these two because the story ended and I’m like DANG nothing else.
This was a really good story right from the beginning. The writer gives us the inside look at the lives of our main characters and we are hooked. The story moves at an pace that doesn't give you time to wonder, you are going to be on the edge of your seat. The characters have been developed so get see why they make the moves and decisions they make. Overall this was really a good read, but the ending needs a little work.
Once again you have done it! I’m Not sure you can write these but please don’t ever slow down. I will continue to need to read your best. I have been through a lot and this book really set some into perspective for me. Just remember God, told me to tell you, he heard and remembered what you asked for. But he also, remember what you said. Keep killing the ink! Kim Underwood
I Loved it...This Was A Great Read 💝 I Really Loved Dino For Mercedes. 💞 Theo Got Exactly What He Deserved. Tyrique Deserved That Butt Whooping He Got. Mercedes, & Dino Mom's Wasn't Sh*t But In Life You Reap What You Sow. I Am Glad Dino & Mercedes Had One Another To Lean On And They Got Their Happily Ever After. ♥️♥️♥️
This was one of those books you never want to end. This was an awesome book. Love Dino, Mercedes and Akilah. My this felt like watching a great movie but better. Nothing was far fetched that’s how real it was to me. Thank you Natisha for writing such a great book.
Dino life was truly violent from a young teen throughout adulthood, Mercedes life was chosen for her she to had to endure so much violence. The duo together created a balance that they both needed in their life. So refreshing to know the both have a second chance in life, wish this wasn't a standalone. Love HEA keep them coming.
Life throws punches you feel as you’re bobbing and weaving. God doesn’t hear, recognizes or rectify your struggles. Your going around on the ferries wheel of life experiencing pain seeking away to find joy.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. I loved reading this story. I felt the pain, the love, the fears and the healing. Such a great group of characters. I wish there was a bit more, but I'm definitely satisfied
Mercedes deserved all this happiness. Theo was so evil and he got just what he deserved. Dino was mean but Mercedes bought out the good side of him. I felt so bad for Akilah but im glad she got better. Great read can't wait to see what's next.
This book put me thru so many emotions. Man I wanted to lay hands on Theo and the momma. I wanted to shake Dino up but I knew Mercedes was going to pull him thru. Glad they ended up together
Wow, Mercedes and Dino had it rough. I’m glad that they were able to come together and make it work. I was rooting for both of them. Hopefully, Akilah will get a spin-off story of her own once she gets older.
Reading about Dino and Mercedes I didn't know how it would go but, you never disappoint! They each have a story to tell, who thought it would end like that? Even the hardest of men cry😀
Two broken souls find love with one another. This was a beautiful well written story of two people who needed love in their lives and through crazy circumstances they find each other. Another hit by Natisha Raynor. She always hits it out the ball park.
Though a new relationship is not what neither of them was looking for ..it was what they needed to to heal. Both mishandled by people their parents and had some healing to do. I would recommend
Good book. This is the second book I have read by this author. Dino was mean as heck but he liked him some Mercedes. They both had gone thru hell as children but they found their happily ever after with each other.
This probably is the best book I’ve read so far this year ! I love the story line , I love how strongMercedes was , she can really be a mirror for many other women, don’t let your situation define you
This book was intriguing and it showed how bad parents can screw up kids and turn them into bed. People we have to do better as parents are in McMindes to be read and Aunt to help others be good parents
I didn't want to see this story come to an end. It was so good. I enjoyed that Dino opened up to love it was good to see. Mercedes was dealt a bad hand, but she didn't give up on love nor Dino.
What a storyline. Mercedes was living in hell but for outside looking in look like she had the greatest life. Dino rescued her and was a breath of fresh air.
The things this couple went through. I'm glad both found each other and came out on the good side. Mercedes and Dino deserved it. Those mothers though, smh.
