Gobsmacked. Utterly gobsmacked on so many levels.

1) If it hadn’t been picked as the to read book for my book group then it would never ever have made it into my hands/ears or universe.

2) A blow by blow explanation of a defamation case against media companies by a war criminal who simply couldn’t or wouldn’t deal with his own shadow, feels as it would be boring as watching paint dry. But no! It was utterly riveting. From start to finish.

3) I have experienced enough narcissistic people and behaviour in my life to not want to read about them (yes I was duped by Lance Armstrong and this had those vibes all over it). Yet I was mesmerised how his behaviour was aided and abetted by so many and the courage of those who chose to speak their truth despite possible negative repercussions. This gave me such a boost in humanity and integrity.

4) I had no idea trials were so detailed and full of fishing expeditions that would make me roll over in an instant. These SAS chaps are brave and very courageous.

5) I just felt devastated for his wife. Media, men and power are an ugly combination for so many women.

6) This all actually happened!!!!

7) Ben Robert’s - Smith is a liar, bully, probable murderer and because he couldn’t take responsibility for his own actions an absolute shit show blowing up carefully contained smoke and mirrors as old as for ever has now been exposed and has a LOT of work to do to clean up the mess.

8) Regardless of a pandemic the law grinds on - fascinating.

Honestly did not see any of this unfolding before I started reading. It felt so good to be shocked out of my lazy mind set and a really good reminder to be aware that comfy wee habits do need to be shown something different and out of the normal more often than not.

Absolute big ups and kudos to Chris Masters.
