This is the sequel to Sharing Harper. I loved the first book and I could NOT wait for more of Ryder. He has his past of course so does Harper but he is determined to make it work with Harper. You see more of Kylie, Ryder's ex-wife and his daughter Evelyn. You will be learning about the things that happened bringing them to where they are. Communication is an issue and things of course go wonky. I mean it can't be candy and rainbows. There are tears, anger and misunderstandings along with confrontations.

This series had me in knots but Stealing Ryder was epic! I was torn between emotions at times. Page by page worrying where V. was going with this. Then BAM! I love Ryder. Swooooooon!!! The man is an alpha but totally sensitive and not afraid to talk and admit what is going on. I know there is no way this is the last of my Ry, because he is just too amazing and I can't wait to see what is coming.

As with Sharing Harper, there are laughs, moments that make you squirm, and those moments where you scream at your kindle hoping that they can hear you and not do something monumentally stupid. HAHA! I love this even more than the first and it is a total MUST READ. After you read Sharing Harper of course!

What the?! How could it end that way? I can't say I saw that coming.

Stealing Ryder lived up to its first book, Sharing Harper. Ryder and Harper are happily together with no secrets between each other what-so -ever. Riiiiight!

Secrets tear couples apart and have nasty consequences. I enjoyed the angst, the love, and the intimacy we see between Harper and Ryder.

Full of drama and juicy sex scenes that were smokin' HOT!!!! Love love loved it! Can't wait for y'all to read the next installment.

Will eagerly be waiting for book three now.

My full review will be up on December 11 for the blog tour!!!

“I cannot live without you. I don’t know how to breathe without thinking about you. You are the center of my world. No, you are the center of my universe.” - Ryder

Picking things up one month after book one, Sharing Harper, ended, we had Ryder and Harper pretty much in love…living in bliss. But just how long can this feeling last if there really is no trust? If there are doubts and insecurities floating around? Struggling with issues from their past, their relationship is put to the test.
“I felt like I had to work to steal him from his past, and I wasn’t sure if I had the gusto in me to continue fighting for him. Essentially, his past was going to win and take him away from me.”

Kylee. Someone that Harper really wished wasn’t a constant in Ryder’s life. But things aren’t always like we want them to be, and Kylee would always be there. She was Evie’s mom, after all. At first, I understood Harper’s fear and anger towards her. It seemed that Kylee wanted nothing more than to take Ryder away from Harper, all while using Evie as an excuse. There were even moments where I felt angry with Ryder. Talk about not handling things well... Grr!!! Which brings me to my next point -- the wedding.

Ryder’s friend from back home, was getting married. Problem? He didn’t know Ryder and Kylee had gotten divorced. Bigger problem? Ryder didn’t think of inviting Harper to go to Texas with him since he didn’t get a ‘plus one’ and she was starting school again. Seriously, Ryder? REALLY! Not the smartest move in the book, Mr.! I was so pissed. Like seriously, angry with him. I mean, poor Harper! No wonder she was so insecure! Having your boyfriend go back home, to a place he hated for very personal reasons, with none other than his ex-wife? C’mon! Hell, I was angry and hurt. Which is why theeeeeen, Harper pissed me off! She forgave him too damn quickly!!! I would have made him suffer a tad more. Hahaha!!! Safe to say that from that point on, it was Harper that got on my nerves, and not so much Ryder. But don’t get me wrong though, I’m a sucker for angst and V. Murphy can sure write angst-filled scenes!
“I was acting completely irrational.” – Harper

Yep. I agree. But let me explain why. You see, Harper decided to go to Texas, after all…to be there for Ryder. Things had been off between them and the distance wasn’t helping. She wanted to be by his side, especially with everything Ryder was going through with being ‘back home’. But as luck or rather angst, would have it, Harper just had to walk in during the worse time. My heart sunk for her. Seeing what she saw sucked BIG TIME. But… buuuuuuuut…. At the same time, I get WHY Ryder was doing what she walked in on. I understand it and agree with him. Obviously, you’ll have to read the book to know what I’m talking about, but I will say that I think Harper over reacted. I get why she felt hurt but if only she would hear Ryder out…. Sheesh!!!!

Luckily, V. Murphy doesn’t shatter our hearts completely. You see, Harper had the very best friend any girl could wish for. You know, the one that really knows you. Yep. That’s how Skye was with Harper. She knew how to handle her. So leave it to Skye to fix things when Harper’s stubbornness was getting the best of her.
“I will pick up the pieces of your past and steal your heart forever, Ryder.” – Harper

Back at a happy place, things were once again great for Ryder and Harper. YAY! In fact, things were wonderful. And then….the end. WHAT! Okay, so I THOUGHT the series ended with this book. So that happy but abrupt ending literally made me freak out! But NOPE. It sure doesn’t end here!!!!!! *shocked face!* Obviously, once I read the words “The End,” I swiped that page like my life depended on it! And then, the beautiful words appeared. Epilogue.

Oh. My. God. To say it surprised me, would be an understatement. *shocked face* uh-gain. I was NOT expecting this little turn of events. I want… no, I need that third book!! Pronto! So yeah, relationship wise it ends great…plot wise, HOWEVER…… Cliffhanger. I must say, props to Ms. Murphy for that ending! It really hooked me even more to the series!!! Go one-click!
“This was the truth. We were forever. No matter what. It would always be us.”

I received an ARC in return for an honest review

Can two people with damaged pasts and lots of baggage, find happiness together or will there pasts come between them and force them apart?

This book put my heart and emotions through the ringer!!! I loved the first book, Sharing Harper, and was so happy that Ryder and Harper found each other. That book ended in what I thought was a happily ever after, but nothing is ever that easy. This leads us to Stealing Ryder. In this book there are even more obstacles in the way of Ryder and Harper's happily ever after.

We start off a few months after the first book ended. Everything is going great and Ryder and Harper are happy together. And then there is Kylle, Ryder's ex ( I love to hate her, but she definitely grew on me in this book). She wants Ryder, Evelyn, and herself to be a family again.

Both Ryder and Kylee are invited to an old friend's wedding in Texas. However, Ryder does not get a plus-one! Ryder and Kyee together in Texas without Harper that spells TROUBLE! Ryder makes so many mistakes while in Texas ( Note: there is no cheating ), and there were so many times I wanted to smack him and say what were you thinking. But he is honest and admits he made bad decisions. Harper also makes mistakes and needs to learn how to open up and trust Ryder and not to run away as soon as things get tough.

One thing that is not lacking from their relationship is sexual chemistry. They have some very interesting and fun sex-capades. There is whipped cream and handcuffs involved at one point and even some more outdoor sex

Both Ryder and Harper grow a lot in this book and learn that you need to face your past before you can move onto your future. I really believe they are perfect matches for each other. Both broken but together they are whole. They can help each move on and put their pieces back together.

Again as we are getting close to the ending, and I'm thinking Ryder and Harper are finally are going to overcome their past and be able to move on to their futures and then......

.......that epilogue!!!!!! Can't they just catch a break??? I'm pretty sure the author is going to make me emotionally explode! Plus, we get another book and more Ryder and Harper. Negative, I'm scared of what might happen and not sure if my heart is going to be able to take it. This is a series I would recommend, and will keep reading until Ryder and Harper FINALLY get there HEA!

Category /Genre: Contemporary Romance
Received from: V. Murphy (in exchange for an honest review)
Recommended for: 18+ due to sexual content
Grammar/editing: B – a few small errors book received as an unedited ARC / errors excused

This is the second book in this series and you do need to read them in order.

A few months later, life for Ryder has settled into a blissful routine of loving Harper and Evelyn. Assumptions and carelessness lead to misunderstandings that once again bring Harper’s trust issues back into their lives. Can they find their HEA?
I absolutely loved SHARING HARPER (see review here:). STEALING RYDER was even better! I was up until 2:30am last night, because I just could not put this down. I did have to take one break for a good hard cry. Then I got to the end and I was smiling, until I turned the page. OMG, prologue, there will be more of Harper and Ryder. I don’t know if I can survive what we see coming, but I wouldn’t miss it for the world.

Ms. Murphy has produced a wonderful cast of characters that are embedded in my heart and the bedroom (kitchen, hotel …) scenes are fantastically steamy. Looking forward to the next one!

I thought I loved Ryder and Harper in book 1, but their relationship is so powerful and intense. I was so sucked in by the two in this book that I could not put it down. This book was filled with passion, heat and some very heart breaking moments. I loved the growth of all the characters in this book. Ryder and Harper both realized a lot about themselves and about their relationship. I however was not expecting that ending and I am sure that some crap will hit the fan in book 3 and I can't wait!!!

***Warning*** If you have not read Sharing Harper you will need to read it prior to reading Stealing Ryder. This is NOT a standalone.

This story picks up one month after the end of Sharing Harper. Ryder comes from a broken past. One where his family did everything they could to destroy his future so he would take over the family law firm. Not a second goes by that he doesn't love Evelyn his daughter, but Kylee is a thorn in his side that won't go away. She's determined to get Ryder back and send Harper away.

Harper managed to save Ryder from the darkness of his life by loving him. They complete each other in every way and they are happy they found one another. Harper has finally moved on from her past with Tye and found love in Ryder, her nightmares a thing of the past.

But just when you think things are going great and they will find their happily ever after doubt creeps into their relationship and starts to take root. Harper knows that Evelyn is the most important thing to Ryder so when Kylee begins to talk about moving back to Texas, Harper fears she will lose him to Kylee and will run to follow his family. In the back of Harper's mind, she always fears that one day Ryder will return to Kylee and they will resume their relationship. To make matters worse, Ryder and Kylee were invited to a wedding together unknown to his friend, Kylee and Ryder are divorced. Ryder doesn't tell Harper or invite her, allowing her to find out from Finn that he's leaving for Texas.

He will return to the last place he's ever wanted to return. He'll leave Harper behind to attend the wedding and confront his past, but the doubt that has already taken a hold of Harper's mind grows and grows until finally it explodes. Can Ryder save his relationship with Harper or will the demons of his past finally destroy his relationship with Harper?

I was a HUGE fan of Sharing Harper. It was one of the best books I've read, but for a lot of Stealing Ryder I didn't like Ryder. He was constantly doing things to Harper -whether or not they were intentional is irrelevant- that made her doubt their relationship. Harper has such a fractured past and is very emotional in this book. Normally I don't like women that cry and complain but come on Ryder did so many things to her that I just couldn't ignore. Kylee was always at the center of the conversation and the issue with that is when your girlfriend sees that your ex-wife is going to be an issue the worst thing you can do is allow her to continue to think that. While Ryder did manage to redeem himself in the end, the way he acted in this book seriously affected my rating for this story. I have another issue I must bring up. Normally I don't because let's face it we're all human and mistakes are mistakes but there were several time that I had to go back and reread a sentence to understand what was being said. Not to mention there were a few times where I was scratching my head because for instance at the beginning of one sentence she's wearing shorts and in the same sentence she's wearing jeans. It was that big of a thing that even after finishing the entire book I still remember seeing it.

I do look forward to the next book however because just went I thought their story was over, there is someone who will return and I look forward to seeing where that leads. Overall the story redeemed itself in the second half, but not enough to save my rating of it. I give it 3.5 stars.

***Stealing Ryder is not a standalone so you have to read Sharing
Harper first***
My synopsis:
Ryder was a typical child growing up who wanted to live and have fun. He dated, went to college, lived that life and wanted to play sports. His father wanted him to grow up and run his law firm. He wanted him to be a “man” and Ryder wasn’t having it. After getting injured he and being tricked into a life of turmoil, he finally found someone that completed him, Harper.
Harper has her demons and a lot of insecurities. There were times when she was too hard on herself and also thought the worst in everyone. The way that she dealt with life was running away. When things got bad, she turn away and ran. Ryder was the person to help her with that but until he dealt with his family, he couldn’t be as strong as he needed to be for her.
They battled everything thrown at them from Harper hurting herself to the nightmares that she had every night. Ryder was there but his ex, Kylee couldn’t let go. She wanted her family back. She wanted security but until he talked to his parents, she realized she was also bullied into something that she really didn’t want.
Stealing Ryder showed us the real Ryder and his journey into man hood as well as becoming an outstanding father. There are a lot of challenges that both him and Harper have to overcome. He has done that but Harper still has ways to go, especially with an ex. I am anxious to see how everything will play out in their lives, especially in book three. The cliff hanger has a lot of things playing out in my mind but we’ll all have to wait and see.
My Review:
I was kind of tired of Harper’s insecurities. I thought she has hard time loving but Ryder was her hero or sorts. Although he made mistakes, he always apologized and tried hard to make sure she was okay. The love that he had for her was beyond anything that he experienced in his life and he knew she was the one for him. He just needed her to see what everyone else saw. His struggle was many but he overcame everything. He faced his demon but Harpers had many and some she hasn’t began to fight. I can’t wait to read book three in this series to see how it all plays out. I loved the dynamic of the book and my mind is racing with scenarios.

I read the first book Sharing Harper and i pretty much enjoyed it. though i wasn't sure wether i would continue on and read this book... I am so glad i did !!! This book most definitely hit the spots the first book missed!! Although a continuation of the first story, it was much more in depth, the characters were not only hot in this second book they were off the charts on fire !!! Both Harper and Ryder were suffering with major issues in the first book and even though they we both in love with each other, the difficulties they each had with their own issue's were making it almost impossible for them to build on what they already had. Throw in a physco ex-wife and disasterous parents and you get the drift. I really enjoyed this book and and how they dealt with things this time around. The chemistry between both Ryder and Harper only grew in this book, and i aint afraid to admit i shed a few ugly crying tears.

thoroughly enjoyed it but THAT CLIFFY BIT AT END?? is there gonna be another book because that was torture !! omg i can't think of her facing him again!!

I was a beta reader on this book..
for an honest review.. I can honestly say that I fell in love with Sharing Harper but even more so with Stealing Ryder.
Harper, Ryder, and Evelyn fall into what seems the perfect routine. All seems well with them. Until Ryder's friend Finn slippes some news that he shouldn't have. No spoilers here ;). Ryder has a lot of explaining to do. eventually all seems well hmmm maybe.. Your emotions are all over up and down. your crying and laughing, you want to smack some sense into him. Ryder confronts his past and you want to high five but at the same time your heart is breaking. your also hurting for Harper and Hoping she will be ok. lots of drama and sadness at the end. your heart breaks for them. Will there love last or will they be torn apart by other people.... Stealing Ryder was another great book by V.Murphy. I cannot wait to read more books by her... you will love this story and characters

Oh my word, this had me on the edge of my seat, talk about wild ride!

Still love Ryder, Harper and Skye, Evelyn is so cute, first off I wanted to bash Kylee and Finn, then came around to them, didn't see that happening, then it fell into place!

What in the world was he thinking about going to his friends wedding without her, oh yeah right he wasn't thinking!!!!!

She has been dealing with all kinds of crazy mad voices, poor girl she's had it rough.

They both needed to see what they were doing to each other to finally realise how right they are for each other. Really pleased they worked through the emotional baggage and both get on the same page!

The romantic beach setting was perfect, a truly lovely moment.

Then you throw that huge curve ball of an epilogue, how could you, didn't see that coming, ohmy need this conclusion fast! my heart was in my mouth throughout the epilogue, its still beating fast!

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed getting to know Harper and Ryder in Sharing Harper. They seem to be made for each other but the two of them have so many issues and complications that keep getting in their way. In Stealing Ryder these complications continue and the couple has to fight to keep their relationship together. There relationship and all of the issues kept my emotions on edge. I loved Ryder, Harper and Evelyn. But along with this love for the characters comes a connection that made my heart break for them as they were going through all of these issues that threaten to tear them apart. Without saying to much I will say that the ending of this book was very nerve racking and my emotions were on edge. Get Sharing Ryder and see if these issues are too much for them to make it work or if they can fought their way though and stay together.

I was hoping that this book would be better than the first with respect to the writing and consistency, it wasn't. It was worse.

In fact, Ryder in the first book had a brother who took over his father's real estate firm and Ryder endedhis NFL career because he hurt his ankle when it turned 180 degrees. In this book, there is no brother and the father wants him to take over his law practice (even though Ryder never finished college or went to law school). And, his career ending injury was to his knee. Despite the crushing of his knee, he can still be a surfer worthy of competition. Um, no talk of rehab. Not possible.

Even the sex scenes were inconsisted. He's in her and never comes out and then she's begging for him inside her.

I skimmed so much of this book shaking my head at the train wreck...which was rea,ly a shame because written well, it could have beena really good book.

But it wasn't.

4.5 Stars!

Loved it! I feel like this book cleared up a lot of pivotal moments that took place in Sharing Harper. Harper and Ryder are still battling issues from their past, and when Ryder and his ex-wife, Kylie, are invited to a wedding in Texas, it causes Harper to doubt how genuine his feelings really are for her. Ryder will always have a connection to Kylie, being that she is the mother of his child, but Kylie threatens to move to Texas with Evelyn, and Ryder is faced with having to choose between the woman he loves and being closer to his daughter. Things only get worse when Harper shows up in Texas and has to face seeing Ryder in the arms of his ex-wife. Is their relationship strong enough to get past the issues that continue to haunt them, or is their relationship bound to crash and burn?

And FYI...the epilogue...holy crap I need the next book now!

Wow I liked book 1 Sharing Harper but absolutely fell more in love with book 2. The story continues and the issues and complications with Harper and Ryder continue. These 2 broken souls are so perfect for each other but it seems circumstances just keep getting in the way!!

However in this book you see how there are some that can grow from experiences and that is one thing that appeals to me as a reader. The story lines flow from one book to the other and this author makes the book so easy to fall in love with the characters.

There is so much emotion in this book that I really can not wait until book 3!!

Better than the first book. Ryder and Harper still have crazy chemistry, they are totally in love. Ryder's ex Kylee, I wanted to slap her so much and Ryder he totally frustrated me at times. I wanted to give him and Harper a shake and scream at them just to talk to each other. When you know Harpers past you can understand where she is coming from and it takes losing her for Ryder to wise up and realise how his actions have hurt her. And then you stick that epilogue at me and I'm like why the hell would you do that to me!

This was better than the first book ~ that doesn't happen often! Harper & Ryder have a lot of issues, things they both need to work out ~ add an ex-wife who wants him back, big-mouthed friends and a whole boat-load of insecurity and you have an angst filled story that makes you tear up and want to scream at the same time. I was not surprised at all by Kylee's love interest and truthfully I was happy for it. Now the Epilogue...ouch, should have known that was coming and I can't wait to see where the next story leads. Thanks for a great Saturday read :)

It was a very good book. I had a hard time putting it down once I got into it. You need to read the first book in the series first-Sharing Harper. It's really great for people who like a little bit of romance but not too much. It's also way more realistic on relationships. It shows how hard and painful life and love can be but that the best moments are worth getting through all that. Then V. Murphy leave a great cliff hanger that is killing me! I cannot wait for the next one!! I feel a book like this could be a movie.

This book was a passionate read that had my heart aching for our main characters Harper and Ryder. The first book in the series I said that I didn't know the characters however all was resolved in this book. It was like the first book was setting the scene and telling you the background introducing the characters. In this book we got to know the characters become invested in them as well as being taken on their journey! Liked book 1 loved book 2 and so looking fwd to book 3 things just seem to be getting better. Can't wait!! Definitely give this series a go!

Woah nelly!!!! This book is better than the first,, in my opinion. Ryder and Harper are both getting use to being together and of course there are miscommunications and walking in on the wrong time, and Ryder makes some really stupid choices and kaylee was very annoying. Of course the epilogue is a cliffhanger!!! I was wondering when this person will show their face and BOOM!!!! Can't wait for book 3.

Hideous NA romance. Ridiculous characters. Ryder and Harper are good, Kyiee ranges from stupid to evil, and Ryder's parents are evil. There's lots of screaming and emotional angst, but rarely any event to support the melodrama. Ryder's long confrontation with his parents to tell them he wasn't going to talk to them any more made me laugh -- I just wanted him to stop talking to them already.

The writing was bad, too, if u know what I mean.

Good story

I'm glad everyone seemed to find their happy their happy places in this story. It seemed a bit faced paced at times but I was still pulled into the story. I wanted to see Harper and Ryder get their HEA. I also wanted to see them work things out with Kylee for Evelyn's sake. The ending seemed a bit cut off to me but the epilogue was not what i was expecting at all. Oh Boy!!!!!!

I love that Murphy has taken this story and wrote it a few years down the road. She gives the feeling of a real relationship. I absolutely loved this book. There is a huge twist to this book. I can't wait to read more from her!!
