The conclusion of The Beautiful Whisper of the Goddess Saga follows Talliea and Arizira one month after their separation. Both women must learn more about themselves and their connection if they hope to reunite and survive the war between their peoples. The past becomes the present, old secrets are brought to life, and the girls are joined by several unexpected allies.
Can the prophecy of Arizira's death be averted? What destiny lies ahead for Talliea? The war between the Esu and the Arnira finally comes to a head. Only the Doira'Liim connection can unlock the past, secure the present, and ensure the future.
I'm a new e-book author and am looking forward to interacting with my readers! I welcome any and all discussion related to my work, or the work of favorite authors/books!
Soul mates, magic, goddesses, lush forests, forbidden love, and feral women with pointy ears...it doesn't get any better than that!
The relationship slowly builds in the first book and the author allows you to experience the thoughts, emotions, and insecurities of each of the main ladies, one a child of the light (whose culture suppresses women) and the other a child of the moon (an all-female nocturnal race).
Talliea and Arizira manage to create a beautiful relationship in a time of upheaval and impending war. Their story merges with several other characters both past and present and I loved how all the threads came together.
I wish the epilogue would have contained some insight into how Talliea's mother (and all the women) were handling the changes within the Esu village, but that did not detract from the story.
Both books were effing fantastic reads. Five stars!
I didn't think it would be possible to love another book more that I did Book One of this series (see my review of "Doira'Liim" on Amazon here: http://tinyurl.com/l6eacdo) but here I am feeling just that!
What an amazing and glorious conclusion to The Beautiful Whisper of the Goddess Saga series.
Just like Arizira and Talliea are two very different peas in a pod, so are these two books. For me, the first book, "Doira'Liim," is a majestic slow burn of love's discovery. The exploration of new, exciting, yet destined feelings. This second book, "Failira, the Tahlet Vahllah," starts out at 80 mph with the frantic pace of pending war. The urgency to fulfill fate and halt doom.
Don't get me wrong, the tale of the love story between Arizira Ahmanae, an Arniran huntress, and Talliea Aldis, an Esu clanswoman, continues to unfold here. But within this book, their story explodes into the greater story. We learn that their love has a higher purpose and expands beyond just the two of them. We learn more about their divergent cultures. We meet more characters. We fall in love with some of them. And we fall in deep, deep hate with others. There are some interesting pairings and friendships. (Golden Girls!!!) An unlikely posse is formed. A posse that is multi-generational, multi-cultural, multi-sex, and multi-tribal.
Things are not black and white here. This saga explores the complications of the middle/grey area. Some characters here do the right things for the wrong reasons while others do the wrong things for the right reasons.
It is an utter joy to read something that is so original and refreshing, beautifully written, and palatably entertaining while containing some life lessons (these are just some lessons that I received from this book & series):
- Being open to truth, living in truth opens one up to full life and deep love. Some of the dangers of being closed-off, single-minded, self-important are misunderstanding, separation, war and death (the last two could be used metaphorically).
- Endless wondrous possibilities are attainable when truth, trust and tenaciousness surround.
- Innocence and positivity are magnets for greatness.
- Respect the past, relish the present, remodel the future!
- Don't judge a book by its cover.
Ms. Orr has written two delicious books over-flowing with strong female characters (I count a lucky 13). Big Yay as I have been told that strong female protagonists are few and far between in this genre. Female empowerment, baby!
The intricacies and musicality of the first book continue here. Flashbacks are used effectively adding to the mystery and tension of Book Two.
There are battle scenes here that are so intricately described it's down right cinematic. I have already started casting the movie. LOL!
Honor and Grace to Krystal Orr! Her second novel is nothing short of amazing.
Since this is self-published, if you enjoyed these two books, please pass the word. Share the magic!
I anxiously await Ms. Orr's next novel!
So yes, you better grab a hot chocolate, a warm blanket, some mints, and surround yourself in the potency of love and the purity of truth.
I really love this story. I read the first book and then was afraid to pick this up because the first one ends on a cliff hanger that doesn't bode well for the protagonists. I'm glad I did, though.
Each of the characters are really well thought out and it was interesting to see how Ari and Tahli switched roles (at least to me) from the first book. You can tell the author put a lot of her heart into this and it's a fun journey.
I agree with another reviewer about there being a lot of repetition in this book that really isn't needed. It was kind of strange to me that the characters would summarize what had happened to them so often...as if I wasn't reading the book and didn't already know. That would be my only complaint of this book. When I hit those parts I started skimming through it until I got to the new content.
Really beautiful love story, overall, and worth the read.
Worth every cents :) i wrote a review about the first book and gave it a 4 stars due to several inadequate qualities, but this book was free from those :D thanks you for written such an amazing series.Everything felt so connected, similar to how puzzle pieces that fit to one another, this book is exactly the same, once again there were no contradiction, the author didn't left a single event unanswered and i love how realistic this book is, fantasy yes but it reflect humans' natures itself. Arnira represent the green lush of earth and Esuval represent the destruction humans caused for earth, it's a fantastic indirect comparison.
