This appears to be an underrated gem, at least in my opinion. If you're a fan of hardboiled detective fiction or noir, this is the book for you. It's very much in the tradition of Phillip Marlowe, Sam Spade, Mike Hammer, etc. It's set in modern times but the stories could easily be dropped back into the 1930s and they still would have worked.

There's nothing incredibly new here as it's the same private investigator fiction we've seen before, but that doesn't mean it's predictable either. The art is great and perfect for this type of story. This is from Archie's Dark Circle line and is aimed at mature readers rather than the all ages material of Archie's regular line. (Although even that line has matured in new millennium.

Overall one of the best crime comics I've read in the hardboiled vein. It's familiar, but still very good.
