Jonathan seemed to be just an ordinary kid, but there was something very special about him. He was a latchkey kid, and his parents were always busy. If you were looking for a superhero, you wouldn't give him a second glance, but as his faith grew so did God's power within him. We all face difficulties and loss. How we respond to adversity determines our character. If we love the Lord and we have responded to His call on our lives, God uses all our experiences, both good and bad, to shape us for His service. We can be destroyed by circumstances or we can be propelled to greatness. Most people in the world are alienated from God. A life dedicated to serving God will be alienated from the world. There is a spiritual war going on all around us. It is impossible to remain neutral. This story is about that spiritual warfare. All Jonathan's experiences, many of which were intended for evil by the adversary, God will use for good. What would a person totally sold out to God's purposes look like? To most people, they would probably appear to be an average person. Jonathan is anything but average.
Buddy is the Pastor of Brentwood Family Fellowship in San Angelo, Texas. His first book was a result of research that he was doing for a doctoral dissertation, and it was about how God uses marriage to communicate His truth to the world.
After this first book, Buddy began writing a second non-fiction piece, and when he had completed it, he felt that it was dry and boring. He decided to rewrite the book as a novel. He has since written several novels, but he still writes books that may be used for small group studies and discipleship training.
