Wrapped Up In Christmas

Rate this book
New Years resolutions are usually broken by the end of the January sales but with stubbornness on her side and a group of cynical friends behind her Lucy’s resolutions to embrace Christmas in all its glory soon takes on a life of their own. Lucy is determined to make every second of Christmas count but baking her own cake and cooking a Christmas turkey aren’t easy tasks for a girl whose kitchen is used to display her takeaway menus. Getting everyone on board with her Christmas spirit has problems of its own as her reluctant housemate is forced to live in Santa’s grotto and her friends face having to skate on the ice instead of just putting it in their drinks.

Armed with her Christmas Diary Lucy does her best to stick to her daily schedule whilst also discovering the fact that life still goes on outside her Christmas bubble. With one sister falling desperately in love and another falling rapidly out of it Lucy is forced to face her own demands and accept that not everything can be fixed with a bit of holly and glitter.

Lucy is determined to make every second of Christmas count Armed with her Christmas Diary Lucy does her best to stick to her daily schedule. Intro about book this part my review:

Which that is what Lucy did I loved the whole daily diary that started in November and brought you to just after Christmas. The author makes you feel part of Christmas with Luce by doing the book the way she did. It was filled with idea's that even me whom loves Christmas and has lot's of decorations had thought wow that seems like a great idea so too me it was almost so me this book. I loved everything about Luce's adventures with her diary countdown what to get each day or do the places she discovered that she can go too for Christmas events. The detail in the book is spot on about everything. The characters were well written in the book. There is surprises, and laughs I totally found this book hard to put down. Was my first book I read by Ali and I totally enjoyed her writing. Can't say enough about this book also looked forward to the next day in the dairy to find out what was next for the day. One of my favorite Christmas books now. A fun filled proper Christmas book.

This is the story of Lucy and her determination of making this Christmas one like never before. We meet her as she vows to embrace this holiday season in all its glory. Everyone around her is surprised since she is one who isn't one for the holidays she decides this year to try something different and see if it makes any difference in her life.

Lucy does it all shopping, cooking and most importantly she wants to make this Christmas the most memorable and perfect one when it comes to her family. She soon realizes that nothing is perfect so she just relaxes and goes with the flow and for once in her life she simply enjoys the season and time with her family and friends. She soon remembers what Christmas was really about being with the ones you love and those who love you despite everything.

This is one read that was funny and also hits you to your core. It made me remember what Christmas is really about and it’s not the flashy lights or expensive gifts but the pure act of spending time with those you love. Wrapped in Christmas is the perfect little gift and one read that I hope will bring you joy just like it did to me.

A great storyline but a good editor is needed! Very amateur, littered with spelling, grammar and punctuation errors (in fact, punctuation was noticeable by its absence). Three things in particular were irksome - the excessive use of exclamation marks, the way Tom used the word 'babe' in virtually every sentence, and 'yea' being used instead of
'yeah' or 'yes'. If it had been written correctly and more professionally, I would've given it 5 stars.

I would like to spend more time with these characters, maybe wedding planning? I kind of hoped Tom would turn out not to be gay, but a Christmas miracle too far maybe. Wish I could buy a Christmas planning diary
