Holy Moly, AMINO ACID THERAPY! This book was everything and more of what I was hoping for, being keenly and LASER focused right now on learning as much as I can about orthomolecular medicine, particularly focused on neurological/mental health and healing. I got a great taste of this reading Julia Ross' "The Mood Cure" & absolutely loved "Depression-Free Naturally" by Joan Mathews Larson, but this book has to be the best reference I've seen thus far. Almost every page has some kind of highlight on it :). It also helped me see more than ever how important it is that we always focus on supporting healing by supporting the health and function of our foundational systems and making sure to get a well balanced and VARIED diet and that supplementing just ONE thing to try to target something that is so complex and requires so many cofactors that still we do not fully understand is not going to work longterm at healing the root cause of dysfunction. I am so excited as a nutritional therapy practitioner to start applying this and digging deeper into what I learned from this book.
