Flighty Sage Taylor has never been able to settle down with one place, one job or one man for very long. So no one is more surprised than she when, to please her ailing father, Sage agrees to enter into a fake engagement with sexy Naval Petty Officer Aiden Masters. The only problem is Aiden pesky no-sex rule, but Sage is sure to find a way around that one even if it means losing her heart for good…
A cute category romance but not as good as the first three installments in the series.
The fake engagement trope is well-developed, however, there is something about Sage and Aiden’s romance that just doesn’t work. On the surface, they are perfect for one another. He is an irresistible mix of brainiac and sex god while she is both feisty and free-spirited. The combination should have sparks flying and pages sizzling, but in actuality it falls somewhat flat. Aiden’s affection for Sage seems more fitting for a brother than a lover and Sage’s New Age persona can be irritating at times.
Unlike the previous books, there is very little plot to speak of and no real conflict. As the rest of the series has been very entertaining, I’m hopeful that the next installment will be better.

Very good book. It starts out with flashbacks to the weddings of Sage's friends, with each one becoming more interested in finding The One for Sage. When the most recent wedding has all three of her friends now focused on her, Sage does the only thing she can think of - concocts a fake engagement with her friend Aiden. She figures that she can fake it for awhile, then end it, without Aiden knowing anything about it. Then her father is diagnosed with cancer, and word of her "engagement" gives him happiness and hope.
The first Aiden knows of the engagement is when he shows up on leave and people start congratulating him. I loved how he didn't get angry once he heard the story behind it, and was willing to keep up the deception. It was also pretty amusing to see how he treated it like a military mission in an attempt to keep things under control.
Aiden and Sage had known each other for a very long time and are familiar with each others' personalities. Sage is known to be a bit flaky, unable to settle on a particular job or keep up a relationship for more than a few months. She also has a big heart and cares deeply for the causes she gets involved in. Aiden is highly intelligent and has been focused on his career as a SEAL. Sage's father has been his mentor for most of his life and he'll do anything to make the man happy.
I loved the attraction between them. Sage had been well aware of Aiden's sexiness for a long time, but did nothing about it. Aiden has also been attracted to Sage, but she's his mentor's daughter which makes her off limits. I had a great time with the part where they are setting up the background and rules for the engagement. Aiden is very pragmatic and doesn't see the necessity for the emotional details of the deception, while Sage is quite aware of the things that could blow their story if they don't lock it down. However, Aiden is very determined to protect them both from the dangers of their deception and insists on a "no sex" rule. I loved Sage's reaction to that, and how she was determined to break that rule as soon as possible.
I loved the growth of the relationship between them. Aiden is so focused and logical, and keeps his emotions well hidden. He's always had a thing for Sage, but has seen enough military marriages crash and burn that there's no way he'd try to tie her down. I loved Sage's ability to pursue her happiness. She knows it's out there somewhere and she's willing to keep looking until she finds it. I loved seeing how Aiden and Sage balanced each other. Her quirkiness and positive attitude helped to center him when the stresses of his work bring him down. At the same time, Aiden's steadiness gives Sage the rock she can lean on when her life gets a little crazier than usual.
Even better, I loved the way that each of them accepted the other just as they are. Aiden can see that Sage's causes are an integral part of who she is. I loved his support of her when thoughtless comments by their friends made her question herself. Sage is also very aware that being a SEAL is important to Aiden, that his commitment is a big part of his identity. I liked the way she supported him against those who were trying to use their engagement to change him. Things are going pretty well with Sage beginning to hope that their future can become a real one, when Aiden's self doubts cause him to back away. I loved seeing how it is the "flake" that has the clearer view of who they are and what drives them. She lays her heart on the line with Aiden and says some things to him that give him something to think about. I loved the ending and seeing how their feelings gave each of them the strength to take charge of their own lives. Aiden's big moment at the end was sweet and romantic.

MY REVIEW:
I tell you I’m addicted to this series. The pace of the books are fast and yet so damn fulfilling, that you can think of nothing BUT the fact that the author is that good at creating catching characters, a suspenseful plot, and tension of attraction that will keep you turning pages.
This book is probably my favorite of the series. There was so much going on yet, as the reader, you could keep up. What happens when childhood friends finally are forced to act on their attraction to one another? Shall I go on? I bet I caught you at childhood friends, huh? Everyone loves a good friend to lover story and this is no different.
When they actually make the pact for no sex with each other or others, I about fell out of my chair laughing. Sage’s mental reaction was just great, hilarious, and so very true.
If you want a laugh out read that will make you want a cold shower after reading and yet still melt your heart, pick this up today!

A SEAL’s Kiss by Tawny Weber is one of the best Harlequin romances that I have read in a long while. And I believe this to be my very first Tawny Weber as well. I found myself impressed with the way Tawny drew me into the story right from the very beginning, entertaining me with a wit that I found irresistible, a hero that I could have drooled over forever and a heroine that spoke to me at every single level. more ...

Sage Taylor is known by her friends and family as a bit of a "Free Spirit". She loves to travel and learn new things about countries and people for a few months at a time. She is home in Villa Rosa, California after a disastrous relationship with a wannabe rock star in Seattle. When he threatened to jump off the balcony of their first floor apartment, she decided to cut her losses and headed home for a visit.
Sage is the last of her circle of friends who is not married. She is very vocal about her dislike of marriage and has stated she would rather be "staked to an anthill naked while covered with chocolate." Her friends are ready to end this silliness of hers and find a perfect match. Sage's best counter attack is to say she is in a relationship; which doesn't deter her friends at all. Quickly realizing the source he heads to Sage's home. They have been friends since he was ten years old and was mentored by Lee Taylor, a university professor and Sage's Dad. At ten he was "more IQ than social skills." He has certainly grown up, is tall dark and handsome, with four university degrees. He has loved Sage, for a lot of years but she has never stayed around long enough to reveal his feelings. Her Dad, who was recently diagnosed with Stage III pancreatic cancer, is overjoyed at the news of their engagement, so Mission Engagement is formed.
The wackiness of Sage and the the serious methodical Aiden make for a lot of laughs in this story. He has rules to be followed, and expects her cooperation. Sage agrees except for Rule Four.....no sex. That will be his to enforce, and she is going to do her best to make him forget that rule!
The characters are delightful, the story keeps you reading, and just when you think you know the ending......you don't! This novel is a lot of fun, with sizzling spots included. Definitely a great addition to Ms. Weber's Uniformly Hot series.

I really liked the heroine Sage. All her life she has been moving from one thing to the next searching for her bliss, she may find it where she least excepts it. Aiden is one yummy hero. He comes across as the sexy SEAL known in Tawny's SEALs. Aiden steps up to bat for Sage with their Mission Marriage, fake an engagement to help Sage's ailing father. One of my favorite scenes is the whole set up of the fake engagement and they way Aiden finds out about it. One thing these two didn't count on is the chemistry they ignite when together. Something that starts out simple gets more complicated when they really get to know each other and their feelings are not fake. Can Aiden be the key to Sage's bliss? Or will Aiden's SEAL career get in the way?

Two characters that were meant to be but fear of commitment seemed to override their love.
I loved the storyline of this book, it was sweet and funny. I found Sage to be a fun woman that loved to make Aiden horny as hell and didn’t like following rules. Now as for Aiden he was a serious SEAL but his reasoning for going along with the fake engagement was weak. Now as for him following his own rule #4 that I had to see and he did good at the very beginning but Sage was better. Loved how she was able to taunt him and she got what she wanted but Aiden screwed up big time.
Sage Taylor is a person that has experienced a lot since being on her own. She has traveled a lot and has done a lot for different countries and animals. Only that her friends had a little surprise for them that they did not see coming, they were taken to a hotel where all expenses were paid. The best part of this weekend trip was that there was chocolate involved and lots of skin and nibbling. They were together from that moment forward. Only that happiness could not be reached that fast something happens and someone gets cold feet. Then feelings are becoming too real but the Professor, her father, is making both Sage and Aiden think about the future. The future as in having kids, her career, the dangers of him being in the military, could he be able to leave the military and become a Professor, could Sage be able to stick to one job and settle down. That is when things start going wrong.
A SEAL’s Kiss was a great read. The characters were well developed and vibrant. I enjoyed Sage and her sassiness. Then of course there was Aiden big tough guy Aiden but he melted the minute that Sage got near him and he couldn’t resist her. There were a couple of steamy scenes that were very interesting and hot. The storyline was engaging, exciting and intriguing. Ms. Weber did a great job with the writing as well as making it an effortless read.
I truly recommend this read to all readers. Enjoy the journey of Sage and Aiden in there quest to find love and a happily ever after.

I loved the storyline of this book, it was sweet and funny. I found Sage to be a fun woman that loved to make Aiden horny as hell and didn’t like following rules. Now as for Aiden he was a serious SEAL but his reasoning for going along with the fake engagement was weak. Now as for him following his own rule #4 that I had to see and he did good at the very beginning but Sage was better. Loved how she was able to taunt him and she got what she wanted but Aiden screwed up big time.

Tawny Weber writes a wonderfully sweet, silly and sad story about two people who are perfect for each other. Who have loved each other all their lives but instead of seeing the similarities have always seen the differences.
Sage Taylor is not your typical girl next door even if she did grow up in small town America.. has had the same friends for her entire life and her father is a Professor at the local college. That may have formed her core but at heart Sage is a free spirit, ready to go where the wind blows, find her bliss, save the world. But when on a trip home she gets tired of the matchmaking from well meaning friends and says she is engaged to the least likely person, Aidan Masters.. life gets interesting. And when her father, who is fighting some pretty serious cancer, discovers it..
Aidan Masters.. Jack of all trades.. brilliant scholar, Navy Seal. The geeky nerd turned war hero. What a dream. Everyone's rock. Home on leave he finds himself engaged to one of his best friends. A woman he admires maybe even lusts after but wouldn't even think of getting in a relationship with her.. not in his wildest.. ok maybe in his wildest dreams but nowhere else. But once he discovered how they came to be engaged and how it is making his benefactor happy, Aidan is all in.
I fell in love.. whole heartedly in love with these two characters. Aidan is so strong, but holds the world at bay hiding behind commitment and duty. Sage is a willow she bends. Her life has been one adventure after another looking for something, fighting for causes and doing her best to make a difference. Everyone likes her.. but no one gets her. They think her flaky, flighty and fun. Not one for a serious life.
This my friends is what you call a romance book. No evil to fight.. no underhanded battles to wage. Just two people coming together. Learning that sometimes what you most desire can be found in your own back yard. And that while love isn't always enough.. with love you kind find a way to make the rest work.
A book to make you sigh, to tear up and to smile. A Book that reminds you that love is right there when you are ready for it.

Sage Taylor's friends marry and she's the perennial bridesmaid. She's not looking for anyone special and thinks of Aiden Masters as a nice guy who practically grew up with her. He's a Navy SEAL now, but she knew him as a bright kid who got gifted coaching from her professor father; he came to live with them after his parents were killed. That kind of friendship is too close for romance. Only when her father is diagnosed with a serious illness does Taylor see how she's been avoiding issues. Such as whether her footloose life makes her parent happy. Maybe there is one little lie she can tell to please him... she should have let Aiden in on the secret!
Congratulated by locals when he returns from a tour, kissed by a bikini-clad Sage in front of a crowd, Aiden has no idea what is happening. This seems inappropriate. The lively girl shamefacedly explains in private that the story made her father happy and he is fighting for health. Aiden starts treating the fake engagement as a mission. He lays down ground rules to include no sexual behaviour. Is Sage right to be insulted by the implication that she's not desirable for a girlfriend or a wife?

Light-hearted Sage discovers that it is a relief to have someone to depend on during tough times, though some of her behaviour still seems childish. She realises that responsibilities don't only flow from parent to child. Although she's spent years volunteering, travelling and helping others, now she learns whom she loves. Aiden is a strong part of a team, helpful and intellectual. He has also put off finishing degrees because it's easier to avoid decisions. I thought his intellect seemed wasted, but it's his life. This was pretty much what I've come to expect from category romance: short, fast, fun, and ultimately a little bit forgettable. I don't mean that to sound as terrible as I think it does - like I said, I thought it was fun. But it's kind of like a summer Popsicle. Sweet and perfect in the moment, but it'll never replace dinner.
As for the book itself, I felt like Aiden offered some surprises. I like the juxtaposition of the geek who finds his place in the military and becomes a badass with a brilliant mind. Sage was a bit harder for me to connect with. She was too stereotypically New Age woo-woo for my taste. There wasn't much new to find there, and I was left pretty disappointed that the issue of her friends' dismissal of her life's work wasn't resolved. I mean, I realize that it was just a plot device that lets Aiden demonstrate his own belief in her work, but it still rankled that her friends could be so casually hurtful and no one ever pointed it out.
And finally, can we please ban the word "tummy" from adult fiction? Please?

This is one of those stories like the second chance love stories that I really enjoy. The fact that they had a history of being friends for such a long time. Though Sage hadn't seen Aiden as anything more than a friend and her father's mentee for many years. That is until she comes back home to find her father ill.
One of the things I really liked about this story was the chemistry between Sage and Aiden, it was even present before either of them noticed it. Something that many of their friends had been aware of. Which really does tickle me because the way that Tawny has written it, it's obvious to the readers as well. But they aren't able to deny themselves once they get into the ruse of being engaged.
The self sacrificing character of Sage is incredible, and the growth she shows throughout the story is amazing. Aiden is so willing to do anything for her, but at the same time also shows growth, though his is a bit slower in seeing the best parts of a relationship for them. This story not only has great characters, but it also has a hot and sexy SEAL.

I so loved this story and MS Weber writes the best Seal's, Aiden and Sage have been friends for many years Sage's father has been his mentor and Sage has helped Aiden always, Sage has had many jobs and travelled a lot pretty much known as a flake in a nice way she helps the underdogs she is caring and loving and when Sage decides that she needs a fiance to stop her friends from trying to match her up Aiden is the best choice but he does put rules in place but rules are made to be broken as their releationship hots up. This story is hot sexy and emotional don't miss it.

This was just an OK read. Normally, I really like the geek-meets-flaky settings, but for some reason I could not get into this one. It was funny and charming in the beginning but towards the end everything felt too forced. Sorry, not for me.

The plot was well done. The characters likable. This is the second time I've read this series due to not realizing it was one of the series I've read before. I just forgot to do the reviews for them then.
This was an interesting read because it spans over many years instead of just reading about the current times. It was different. However, you could tell there was something there over the years with the hero and heroine but they just didn't want to admit to it. Everyone else seen it but them. It was an original way for the author to get you hooked into the story. I loved how she made the hero a nerd and a SEAL at the same time. It was very unique.
The heroine did get a bit on my nerves because she was so all over the place and went from thing to thing, but it didn't seem to bother her father nor the hero. I couldn't get over how accepting they were of her ways. Overall, the story line was great and I really did love the hero. The heroine grows up and acts like one which is why I'm giving the five star rating.
This was the last book in the Sexy SEAL Box Set this one was a part of. I'd read that because you get books 1-4 of this series in that one and I loved the whole box set.

Really good book deserving of more than 5 stars! Aiden Masters is with the SEAL’s but lived with Professor Lee Taylor when a teen. As a child, Aiden was brilliant but was too young at ten to compete with young people entering college so the Professor tutored him at home. His daughter Sage Taylor is a free spirit who has never settled down to any sort of real job. When she learns that her father has been diagnosed with cancer, she tells her friends she is engaged to Aiden. Her father has long wanted the two to marry. Aiden goes along with the fake engagement but soon wishes it were real as does Sage but he has his Navy career. Can he have both?
They know each other well and the Professor is right when he thinks they are perfect for each other. She tells Aiden he is afraid to commit. He agrees she is right. He gives her a ring he had designed for her and asks her to marry him. He wants a long-term agreement with her.

well, I've officially read all four in this series, and LOVED them all!! Aiden and Sage's story just kept getting hotter..also broke my heart but it was such a perfect blend. Thank you Tawny for writing this series. I'm so thankful i took a chance!

I do love a good, quick & dirty friends to lovers, fake engagement, forced proximity romance, and this tropetastic read really delivers on all those fronts. The heroine's friends even force her and her hero to bone in a secluded hotel as part of their (fake)engagement party! I hadn't read any Harlequin Blaze books before being gifted some in my Galentine's Day Ripped Bodice box and I think they really deliver on the promise of the premise, as they say in Fated Mates, especially with something like a no-sex pack between the hero and heroine. Anytime that comes up you are guaranteed that sexytimes will be frequent and will be fun; there's no way the love interests will be able to keep their hands off each other. And Aiden and Sage deliver on that premise joyfully, so I'm very glad I read their book.

While this novel didn’t connect with me as much as A SEAL’s Salvation did, this is another solid, sensual romance by Tawny Weber. This novel’s themes are the girl next door, but it’s taken in such a sideways manner and with fun characters who neither trust themselves nor the other where emotions are concerned that the novel comes across as pretty unique.
Aiden practically grew up with Sage when her professor father adopted him intellectually when he proved a sop for knowledge. Because of this, he knows her better than anyone else, with all her failings and quirks. While startled, especially with no warning, when he discovers Sage made up a fake engagement that snowballed, Aiden rolls with it long enough to understand why they have to keep up the pretense, at least for now. Both his willingness and caution make him likeable, but there’s more running under his surface than even he recognizes because of recent losses in his SEAL team and his own unacknowledged dissatisfaction with his life.
Sage might sound like a complete flake, and she certainly doesn’t hang around any one thing for long, but she loves her father, cares for her friends, and is trying to make a difference in her own, unique way, something her friends do not understand. But Aiden does. He gets what she’s about on a visceral level that both empowers and disturbs Sage. She’s a lot more complex than she gives herself credit for, much less the majority of those around her who don’t see past the surface.
The sex felt a lot more prevalent than in the other novel, but this is a Harlequin Blaze so that should have been expected. What makes it work for me is how their physical connection becomes such a part of their natures and their struggles. It starts almost as a dare when Aiden declares it’s not part of the plan, but quickly becomes more complicated.
Looking back over this review, I see the words complex and complicated have a firm grasp on my descriptions, and if you’ve been reading my reviews for a while, you’ll know that’s something I look for. While A SEAL’s Kiss doesn’t shed light on a bigger issue we face as a society, it is true to the characters and their very personal struggles. And now let me eat my words. It does tackle a bigger question: What would you do to shore up a sick elderly parent? Though not intended, her simple lie to get out of a blind date, thanks to the gossip chain, becomes her father’s touchstone as he faces serious treatment to fight off cancer. When she’d thought to come clean, his joy even in the face of this medical crisis stops her.
On the one hand, this is a quirky, amusing story of the pit even a simple lie can dig. On the other hand, though, it delves into the struggles of handling a sick parent as well as how important it is to find someone who understand you even when you might not understand yourself.
So, I’d have to say once again Tawny Weber has proven herself to be a talented author who can address the big issues in such a way that they feel personal, while creating characters and stories that entertain on multiple levels.

I loved reading my second Tawny Weber book. It's, of course, another one about the SEALs and it followed up from Brody ( A SEALs Salvation), who does make a brief appearance in the book which was awesome.
So let's go back a little, we meet our two characters Aiden & Sage, who happen to be lifelong friends, Aiden who is a genius & Sage who is a bit of a free spirit. They rarely see each other and have mostly stayed in contact via Sage's blog and her father, Aiden's mentor. When Sage comes home for another wedding and learns that her friends are gearing up to set her up she comes up with what should be a little white lie but quickly blooms into a big one. Which is made even more complicated when Sage gets some seriously devastating news. Now it's up to the duo to maintain the mission for as long as possible, and most of all don't forget the rules.
I loved reading this story., (Don't I always say that?? Naw not really). He was definitely in love with Sage for longer than he was willing to admit. I loved that even though she was considered the flake she was actually well put together. I likened her to Dharma from the awesome show Dharma & Greg, she was just as fun & new agey. She was seen as just flitting about when she's actually doing a great job making a difference in the world. She has had some misadventures along the way but then again we all do.
I like that she has an alternative life to the 'boring' ones that some of us are sometimes forced to choose (because bills don't pay themselves). In her life she has managed to see a lot, make a bit of a difference and do what many wish they could. It may earn very little money, but it does something even better which is feed her soul. She didn't even have to have the midlife crisis to decide that's where she really wants to go. I loved that they were totally into helping each other even if they refused to see why.
In this instance Sage was the best character because it's her change and transformation we saw more than Aiden's. He was already stable in his career and in most of his life, but Sage needed to find a place to settle, a career she wanted and when she realized she already had all the things she just needed to aim better it was awesome to read.
This was once again a book that was relationship focused and it dealt more with their need to find themselves and each other instead of some big outside influences, even though there were a few, we really focused on the characters and what they needed. I personally loved the choices they were faced with, and how they had to decide what was best for them, even if everyone else didn't agree. It was very quick read and funny in moments, serious when it needed to be, & really smoking hot when the couple finally got there. All in all it's a good read!!

I loved reading my second Tawny Weber book. It's, of course, another one about the SEALs and it followed up from Brody ( A SEALs Salvation), who does make a brief appearance in the book which was awesome.
So let's go back a little, we meet our two characters Aiden & Sage, who happen to be lifelong friends, Aiden who is a genius & Sage who is a bit of a free spirit. They rarely see each other and have mostly stayed in contact via Sage's blog and her father, Aiden's mentor. When Sage comes home for another wedding and learns that her friends are gearing up to set her up she comes up with what should be a little white lie but quickly blooms into a big one. Which is made even more complicated when Sage gets some seriously devastating news. Now it's up to the duo to maintain the mission for as long as possible, and most of all don't forget the rules.
I loved reading this story., (Don't I always say that?? Naw not really). He was definitely in love with Sage for longer than he was willing to admit. I loved that even though she was considered the flake she was actually well put together. I likened her to Dharma from the awesome show Dharma & Greg, she was just as fun & new agey. She was seen as just flitting about when she's actually doing a great job making a difference in the world. She has had some misadventures along the way but then again we all do.
I like that she has an alternative life to the 'boring' ones that some of us are sometimes forced to choose (because bills don't pay themselves). In her life she has managed to see a lot, make a bit of a difference and do what many wish they could. It may earn very little money, but it does something even better which is feed her soul. She didn't even have to have the midlife crisis to decide that's where she really wants to go. I loved that they were totally into helping each other even if they refused to see why.
In this instance Sage was the best character because it's her change and transformation we saw more than Aiden's. He was already stable in his career and in most of his life, but Sage needed to find a place to settle, a career she wanted and when she realized she already had all the things she just needed to aim better it was awesome to read.

I'm not sure why I haven't read a military romance before, especially considering my husband is in the military and I have more friends and family that I can count that have military experience, it's definitely a lifestyle I can relate to. I think I was expecting that this would have more of a military theme to it, but the SEAL in the story was basically on leave the whole time, so if you are expecting more of a military theme this may not be the book for you. But even thought it wasn't exactly what I thought it was going to be, it was still a pretty enjoyable read.
Sage is a free spirit to say the least, she travels the world whenever she wants and blogs about the different causes and things she comes across. It's definitely not the normal lifestyle, but she likes it, even if some of her childhood friends don't necessarily understand it. I liked that she was pretty confident in how she wanted to live her life. I liked that when she found out her father was sick that she was more than ready to stick around to be there for him, and even that she would go along with the fake engagement to keep a smile on his face.
Aidan's definitely a good looking guy, and I liked that he is smart. I really don't like when people portray military people as being less than in the brains department, but this guy is super smart. He's also a bit on the stoic side, but Sage and her father are really the only people that he cares about back at home, so it's easy to see why he goes along with the fake engagement idea that Sage came up with. I do wish he talked more, to Sage or his friends, or really anyone, but then again I know my fair share of military guys who thing one word responses constitute a conversation (p.s. it does not).
I can relate to some of the conversations in this book. I think anyone who has been in a relationship with someone in the military, trying to figure out if the military life is for you is definitely something that should be talked about, it certainly isn't something everyone is cut out for. I liked that they address that. The one thing I felt was really lacking was the ending. I think the ending could have lasted a bit longer. And I really thought the book could have benefited from an epilogue, even if it was only a couple of pages, I really would like to know what happened in their future. Even with that I would still recommend this book to anyone looking for a contemporary romance.

If you think the cover is gorgeous, it's only the icing on this delicious cake of a book. It's a very sexy, romantic read that will also make you think about life and what you make it.
To get rid of some friends who keep pestering her to accept dates, Sage, a free-spirited girl, tells them she's engaged to Aiden, her long-time friend. This becomes even more of a problem because her dad hears about it and he's very happy, but he's deathly ill. This is a risky premise, and where too many writers have failed miserably, in the capable hands of Tawny Weber, it is a success. Sage, all New Age, yoga, and piercings, has been friends forever with Aiden, who lost his parents on 9/11. He had been tutored before by Sage's father, thus was invited to their home after the tragedy when he was 17. He's a "supergeek, a brainiac" and "a grumpy pessimist"; in fact, he's a very serious man who holds a serious job, Sage is "flighty, flaky and emotional", goes from one job to another; she's an artist, really. But, despite all their differences, they are deep down very much alike, or are they ?. So, since they both care so much about Professor Taylor, Sage's father, Aiden decides to go along with Sage's charade until the Professor gets better, or the worst happens. Ms. Weber is such a careful writer that she does not succumb to the usual pitfalls this type of story entails. She has taken care of all the details; she knows where she's going and there are no issues left hanging. Let me gush here for a moment: I love, love, love Sage ! She is such a wonderful character. It's an emotional book, a book that will make you think, that will make you smile, laugh, swoon, and in the end, cry. I seldom cry, but I did. It is a lovely, lovely story. Ms. Weber gets better and better; with every book, she's honing her craft, perfecting her skills. It's the kind of book you want to read as quickly as possible because you want to know what happens, but you still, you want to read it slowly and savor everything. Very well done, indeed !

This is the fourth book in the Uniformly Hot Seals series and like the other books it can be read as a standalone. In this installment we are introduced to Sage Taylor a free spirit, but her friends considered her to be a bit flaky. Why? She has a commitment phobia. This applies not merely to her relationships, but likewise to her inability to remain in one job for too long. Her actions indicate that she is searching for that perfect thing/someone who would make her life complete. She may just find that in Aiden Masters.
Chief Petty Officer Aiden Masters knew Sage all his life. Aiden was a gifted child and he was mentored by Sage’s dad. He became an orphan at seventeen and he came to live with the Taylors on a permanent basis.
All of the Sage’s friends were now married and they were intent on seeing her tie the knot as such, they tried every means to match her up with someone. She however was having none of this as such she pretended that she was engaged to Aiden unbeknown to him. Little did she know that her plan would backfire.
The interaction between these two was rather entertaining. Talk about opposites attract, these two were a walking advertisement for this adage. When Aiden found out what Sage did he agreed to keep the façade going for the sake of her father, however, he was determined to set some rules. However, there was one particular rule, he had a hard time sticking to.
The characters are fun and entertaining. The story pulls you in and you can't help but to continue reading to find out what next Sage had up her sleeve. I loved the fact that the main characters evolved throughout the book.

She has never really acknowledged that she has no idea what she wants to do with her life. She has been content to pour herself into those missions that she is passionate about. Relationships have never been her strong suit.
Chief Petty Officer Aiden Master is a Navy SEAL, first and foremost. He takes his career seriously and he revels in the knowledge and guidance of his mentor. Enter Sage Taylor, the daughter to said mentor and the only female to ever peak his interest in something beyond the physical. Because of the attraction he has to Sage, he knows this scenario has disaster written all over it unless he treats this like a serious mission.
I was intrigued by the premise of this story. A fake engagement is the perfect opportunity for plans to run amuck and control to be tested. Factor in that Sage is the daughter of Aiden’s mentor and you have quite a predicament for two life-long friends. As they attempt to pull off a mission in deceit under the guise of bringing happiness to an ailing man, attraction and desire will add complications to a mission on the verge of failure from the beginning.
Sage and Aiden were like oil and water at times and smooth as silk at other times. The chemistry between them was prominent from the beginning. The occasional banter added some humor to the story. I enjoyed the dual point of view as it provided depth to the characters and gave the reader insight into how each viewed the other. This was an enjoyable read with a swoon worthy military man.
