This might be a very unpopular opinion but I’m having two thoughts about that slap and its claim of domestic abuse, because clearly, people did not get the context. She wasn’t slapped because she was suspecting him of cheating. She was slapped because she was comparing herself to another person she was better than. Yes, I’m talking about Hokuto slapping Chiwa back to her senses! I mean, logically speaking, I might slap a person too if she keeps on comparing herself to another person when countless of times I’ve told her she is enough and even more. so, partly, she had it coming… but hokuto didn’t need to use force to make chiwa realize that, right? so, somehow it’s still off-putting.
Now, what makes me read further? What is it with Happy Marriage?! that just can’t make me get enough? It’s simply the solid make-up after a huge fight. Always this, so I’m not bothered anymore, I just indulge the fight coz I know I’ll have a good make-up coming. I also adore what’s becoming of Hokuto though. I love his smiles in this volume so much, it’s just so refreshing. Becoming weak for his wife? Hell yea, lover boy, using that damned line “my darling wife,” you sure are.
