The Corruption Chronicles: Obama's Big Secrecy, Big Corruption, and Big Government

Rate this book
Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton exposes Obama administration secrecy, secrets, and corruption by providing behind-the-scenes details of what America’s leading government watchdog has uncovered in its and successful legal battles to pry loose secret documents from a stonewalling Obama administration.

Judicial Watch, America’s largest non-partisan government watchdog, has investigated the Clinton, Bush, and Obama administrations. Judicial Watch is the group that helped impeach Bill Clinton and took the Bush White House secrecy all the way up to the Supreme Court. Since the beginning of the Obama administration, this grassroots group has filed over 700 open records demands and dozens of lawsuits, including a successful fight over the secret Obama White House visitor logs. In this book, Fitton reveals what Judicial Watch has uncovered in its battles on high-profile issues, such as the bailouts, Obamacare, terrorism, the Black Panther scandal, czars, the ACORN network, illegal immigration and stealth amnesty, the Obama White House’s actions against FOX News Channel, and Obama’s radical Chicago connections.

The book provides highlights of Judicial Watch’s historic role in pursuing corruption and the truth during the Clinton and Bush administrations. The Corruption Chronicles comprehensively highlights how the Obama administration, which promised to be the most transparent administration in history, became the most secretive in a generation, and it exposes the inside facts that the Obama administration has desperately fought—sometimes in court—to keep from the American people. A major feature documentary film is slated to debut nationally in late Spring 2012 and will tie in to and support the release of Secrets . Both the film and the book will educate the American public about the Obama White House’s creation of a government “transparency crisis” in Washington, DC.

Disgusting!!! The corruption in Washington is absolutely disgusting. Something must be done about these politicians that think they're above the law. Thank you Justice Watch for exposing these scumbags. Read if you care about this country. Enjoy!

This is an extremely disturbing piece by a credible source that might make you want to look closer at the domestic spending budget. When I say a credible source, the documentary evidence are records of government offices and officials, gathered through FIOA requests and lawsuits to force disclosure of the FIOA requested documents.

For the most part, I have not looked at the actual documents, but I find Judicial Watch to be active and credible in exposing questionable government activity. I visit their web page frequently, and see them quoted in many news reports. They have been around since 1994, and have exposed Clinton, Bush and Obama administrations. After reading this, you may question Obama's claim to be the "most transparent" administration.

My point is that many of these programs are not constitutionally within the power of the congress and they distract from the defined responsibilities of our federal government, aside from being corrupt.

We recently observed the theater of a "peaceful transition of power" as Barack and Michelle Obama engaged Donald and Melania Trump with hospitality and cordial photo op's. The charm offensive seemed to effectively disarm incoming President Donald Trump. Now evidence seems to be mounting that at that very hour, the Obama administration was illegally wiretapping communications of the Trump team and otherwise preparing an arsenal of bombs to drop on the incoming administration in the first weeks of the "peaceful transition."
The power of government is soon corrupted when the media is rewarded with "breaking stories" leaked by insider sources that are motivated by their own vested interests. "Corruption Chronicles" does the investigative reporting that media, "the fourth estate" of government, neglects. The abuse of office, betrayal of American security, and squandering of taxpayer dollars reported in this book are alarming and disheartening; but will alert the reader to how government is run these days. While 2/3 of the book report on the first term of President Obama, I was most interested in the opening chapters on the Clinton and Bush administrations. As the years passed, career politicians and unelected bureaucrats increased their power, their protections, and their budgets, at the expense of the American people and the national future. These outrages are exposed in "The Corruption Chronicles," and have most assuredly compounded since its 2012 publication. Bear in mind when weighing news reports during the "peaceful transition" that this is the government-media Establishment the Trump administration inherits.

Unlike Barack Obama's promise at the start of his presidency to be the most transparent administration in history, in The Corruption Chronicles: Obama's Big Secrecy, Big Corruption, and Big Government by Tom Fitton, the actual record of stonewalling, secret meetings, creating unaccountable power positions to work around congress, using the various departments of government to intimidate any opposition, and corruption at its core make this administration the most paranoid and defensive administration in American history, on par with that of Richard Nixon. The author, president of Judicial Watch, had to file countless Freedom Of Information Act requests for simple information about the inner workings of the Obama administration because most simple initial requests were met with a negative response followed by legal battles over what the administration was doing. Once some materials were finally released, often more was found later that they refused to release until another legal battle was fought. Many times the information that was released showed patterns of corruption if not outright illegal activity that resulted in more FOIA requests that were also strongly resisted by the administration. Unlike the promised transparency and self-proclaimed scandal-free administration, Obama Inc. proved to be the opposite and probably one of the worst. The author does a nice job researching and chronicling the vast number of shady operations with reference to specific documents to support his findings. If the Kool Aid has started to wear off, you will find some interesting eye-opening facts that you are unlikely to find in the main stream media.

Hilarious if not so tragic. The plethora of detail filled in the holes for the things I knew of prior to reading this. It just goes to show corruption is a prerequisite for those inclined to fill a Washington seat. Opens up with a few chapters with examples of boneheaded-ness from the Clinton and Bush administrations. At times you can tell Fitton hates Obama, but his attitude appears to be uniform for politicians and bureaucrats circumventing law.

This is an outstanding book filled with corruption committed by politicians in the United States. The book supports information about the politician who committed the corruption and what Judicial Watch has done to bring the corruption to light using the Freedom of Information Act and lawsuits. The book is a great resource for anyone who plans to vote in United States elections.

A well documented work detailing corruption of many political figures, especially Obama, a figure the media portrays as angelic. The facts presented in this book leaves me even more skeptical and disenfranchised with politicians. Corruption definitely crosses party lines.

This was a very illuminating and interesting look three of our former presidents, especially President Obama. I would be very interested to know what Judicial Watch thinks of our last president.

The author writes aabout Judicial Watch and its fight with government and govern official's abuse of power. While he covers the battles with the Clinton and Bush administrations, most of the work deals with the Oboma administration. It addresses abuses of Oboma's oath of office and the Constitution itself. It does not give preferental treatment to any political party. A must read for concerned Americans.

Amazing! That is, both the work done to unveil government secrets and the secrets our government keeps!! Should be handed out to everyone registering to vote!
