Ahhh!! This series is practically an obsession!
I love how Kyoko comes into her new role. And how much taller she does when in character. She continues to shock an amaze her coworkers. Sadly, once again she is constantly having her fellow females turn on her. But she handles them beautifully. Although she does scare me a bit too in doing so...
The valentines drama is insane. She has too many guys trying to figure her out and the misunderstandings between them is hilarious! My reactions as I read this are all over the place. My husband teases me saying he is going to record me as I read next time, just to see "what a fool you make yourself with your expressions and noises." I apparently really get into this.

I seem to be out of my reading slump because this is the second day in a row that I managed to finish two 3 in 1 editions of this series! I absolutely loved this volume. It finished the character arc of Kyoko struggling to get into her latest character role and the problems that she has with the director and her co-stars, and starts a new one with Ren's birthday and Valentine's day problems with all the main men in Kyoko's life. This volume also ends on a cliffhanger so as soon as I finish this review I will start reading the next edition. This is the perfect series to read right now with all that is going on in the world as it really does take me out of my world and provides me an escape. I can't wait to read the next book and I would definitely recommend this series!

I'm knocking off a star cause Reino is back and I HATE Reino. Once again, he's shady af. This time, he kidnaps one of Kyoko's grudge spirits and threatens Kyoko to make him Valentine's day chocolate or he'll cuddle with the grudge spirit and kiss it at night. I had hoped that he was gone for good but nope *weary sigh*

Also, this volume has more Sho, too. *wearier sigh* I really wanted to slap him when he said that Kyoko is demoted again because she is a boring woman again whose head is full of love and she's devoting herself to a dude. I can't stand him either, he is absolutely toxic and is a horrible person.

•Seeing Kyoko figuring out and then acting out Natsu is so satisfying/terrifying

•I am deprived of not seeing Ren doing the female catwalk
Deprived!щ(゜ロ゜щ)

•There's so much jealously in the Valentine's Day arc and a good number of annoying characters show up. It does not spark joy!

•What does sparks joy is Kyoko's gift for Ren, which doesn't get revealed until later in the series so I must suffer through for a while

Why oh why wouldn’t she give chocolates to Ren?? I understand that she knows he wouldn’t eat them but still! He would have loved it! And what is up with that ending? And why don’t I have the next set now?! Dang my library for making me order the next few specially!

It’s going to take forever for Kyoko to realize she likes Ren. Ugh slow burns—love them and hate them.

This is what I was looking forward to. I *love* the Natsu creation arc. It's so cool to watch her create this bully character. Very happy to get here.

I like this one, and usually I love the whole angry spirits thing, but its a little hard to explain when things are "real" and not real and then ... the chocolates. NO. no. no.

SERIES REVIEW:
(Side note - I have read more than what's official by reading translated online scans, as such my view may be a bit biased based on further plot developments.)
Skip Beat is possibly the best shoujo I have ever read! While the art style may throw newer readers off as it is very 90's/early 2000's do NOT let it keep you from giving this manga a try! The characters and plot more than make up for any lacking art. Kyoko is my favorite protagonist I have ever read - book or manga. This is not your typical shoujo by any means. It has romance but focuses more on Kyoko's growth as an individual as well as her determination to find herself. The other characters are not left behind either. They are also constantly growing and changing in different ways giving off such a vibrant and realistic vibe (well mostly realistic-if you have read it you know what I mean) If you are looking for romance, comedy, a shoujo with depth this is the one. While at times the slower romance pace is frustrating the pay offs make it worth it. Instead of a cheap fix so many shoujo manga are doing this is a slow burning master piece. I really cannot give this series enough praise and everyone - shoujo fan or not, manga fan or not - needs to give it a try!

I really loved this volume so much so that I decided to write a review this time. I have enjoyed all of the volumes before it but I need to speak out. Haha. I also finished it in such a short time that I am having instant withdrawal and need to get the next one pronto. Here is the deal, Kyoko is bad-ass in this volume. This was funny, and easy to read and the relationships are weird and dynamic and I cannot wait for the next volumes.

Seriously, I love this series more and more. But I seriously hate Sho! Seriously, he's so goddamn annoying. I hope Kyoko beats him into a coma. He is that annoying. Ugh! Still this series is so good, it keeps me wanting more and more!!

Skip Beat takes place right after the previous book ends. The heroine must figure out a way to take on her new role while others try to sabotage her, and she's still utterly clueless about Ren. However, Show, Ren, and the "Beagle" all seem to come out to haunt her in this one, she better be careful for one wrong step could send the wrong message across.

I really enjoyed this addition to the Skip Beat Series. I loved the heroine and her quirky nature, but how she could take on a role so well made it so much better as well. Then the relationship between her and Ren was awesome too. I can't wait to see what happens between those two, and how their life will work out now.

Disclaimer: I couldn't do what Yoshiki Nakamura does even if I worked hard at it. However, I couldn't help but notice that the artist is increasingly only drawing one eye on people, leaving the area where the other one should go simply a light shadow. Even a character who isn't shady and doesn't have bangs in his eyes got this treatment. Hopefully future volumes will show she grew out of taking that shortcut so often.

The Natsu arc makes me SO ANXIOUS. It's cool, but very very disturbing. I don't really like Chiori and I don't like the implication that she comes back (I've read it before but I can't quite remember, probably because I didn't like her...)

Once the Natsu arc is over, it kind of goes back to normal. I like the Valentine's shenanigans, especially coupled with Tsuruga's birthday. I still don't like Reino, but he's not quite as bad this time.

I am actually so stressed out by all this miscommunication, even on the third re-read.

Reread.
The perfect Valentine's Day read! But the whole miscommunication over chocolates and "the beagle" really frustrates me! I wish Kyoko and Tsuruga could just be more open with each other and avoid all this drama!

Can't wait for the next 3-in-1 edition to come out. Things are just getting more and more interesting with the three male characters and the female lead!

The romance part is dragging on so slowly... and it seems it will continue to do so. Valentines day is annoying.......
