Whew 😥
Ok so this is the first book I have read by Abigail Hunter and no gonna lie it was kinda stressful in a good way. My anxiety was at the nail biting point throughout the book. I really enjoyed the characters although the the FML is quite frustrating (she has her reasoning I’m sure) lol so many secrets people are keeping but it helps build their character as well as the storyline. Make sure to note there are plenty of triggers for the sensitive sorts so heed the Content warning in the beginning of the book. The story is not for the weak hearted. But if you enjoy BDSM type of feels with a lot of dark kinks you should be fine. But just in case, make sure you read the content warnings don’t complain later, after the fact, pay attention to the author’s warning. This does break into a series, so that’s another warning for those who are waiting for the whole series to be out, there’s a little bit of a cliffhanger at the end. Do enjoy the book as I did it was really nicely written. Spice level was about a four. 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

I knew this book will end on a cliffhanger but it ended so abruptly I was shocked!
I really enjoyed reading this spicy dark Red Riding Hood retelling, it was exciting and captivating. I loved meeting Ruby and the three big bad wolves, they were adorable.
I am so intrigued to see where the story will goes from here, I definitely would love to get to know the characters more in depth in the future. I highly recommend this book if you’re looking for an exciting dark and very spicy fairytale retelling of Red Riding Hood.

Also, Ruby being half-fae and half-vampire was intriguing as a character. The chemistry between her and the three MMCs was well-written, but I personally would have liked to see more character development.

So how did you spend your Good Friday? Me…. Devouring this book like Valko, Lucien and Fil devoured Ruby x
Seriously fairy tale retellings are becoming my new favourite thing and Blood Princess did not disappoint.
First and foremost check your TW because this book is far from a fairy tale and scenes may not be for everyone.
I absolutely loved this dark retelling of Red riding hood, the book drew me in from the first page.
The storyline and characters were fantastic. And I can tell you now that if red riding hood from our childhood stories met 3 big bad wolves like Valko, Lucien and Fil the story would have definitely gone down a different path.
This book ends on a cliffhanger that leaves you wanting more, so I’ll just be sitting here, impatiently waiting.

I was drawn in from the very beginning. A Vampire Princess moving through wolf territory on their way to the crimson palace, knowing the dangers. When all hell breaks loose so many are killed and as the princess was about to fall victim to a wolf she is instead knocked out and taken hostage. The spice is so good there is a good back story and the ending will leave you wanting more, no literally it ends on a cliffhanger, I cannot wait for the next part of the story!

This is a PERFECT spicy retelling of Little Red Riding Hood. It had the perfect amount of spice! Definitely would enjoy reading more about the politics in this storyline. It kept me intrigued from page 1!

Blood Princess has me in a chokehold…. I’m not sure which of our 3 fine wolfmen I love most. Sweet and kind Fil, Rough and wild Lucien, or our grumpy Valko. Thankfully we don’t have to choose with this wonderful reverse harem. This red riding hood retelling is beautifully written, has great world building written throughout the book, and characters that draw you in immediately. The ending has an intense cliffhanger that made me want to throw my kindle haha The fact that I have to now wait for the next book is a tragedy that I’ll be crying about for the next week.

I couldn’t put the book down. I just had to know where the twists lead and where the story was going to go. I will say this whole thing messed with both my head and my emotions. It started with me not knowing how to feel and then to me not knowing whose side I was on to just feeling heartbroken. The book did such a good job developing my attachment to the characters that my heart just broke. I am dying for the next book as I need to know what happens. Heads up, cliff-hanger for reals! But it leads you to needing more.

This book did not disappoint. The first I’ve read from Abigail Hunter so I went into it with no expectations. The story line was well thought out and the characters are something else! This retelling of Red Riding Hood with a delicious twist. The brave FMC Ruby that is kidnapped to force change in the kingdom of her father before she can ascend the throne. The 3 MMC werewolves that turn out to be her mates... enemies to lovers. Be sure to read the trigger warnings. It does end on a cliffhanger.

OH MY GOSH! From start to finish, this book had me addicted. The twists and turns at me hanging on for dear life. I can not figure out which wolf has more of my heart. All I know is I need book #2 like now! Completely obsessed is an understatement. Definitely a must-read if you enjoy reverse harem, spice, a twisty plot, and mate bonds. Holy mother of cliffhangers! I was hooked instantly I couldn’t put my Kindle down once I started reading (I even took it into the tub with me 😳) the story was so well written that I felt Lucien‘s pain of betrayal through the pages (screen?) I would have loved to see a more personal.(not sexual) relationship developed between the four, but I absolutely cannot wait to find out what happens in the next book.

So, I am not a big fan of werewolves and shapeshifter romances and haven't read a book with those in years. But I wanted to give this category one more chance, to see if I would like it and I couldn't have picked a better book to do so!😍😍
Only from the first few pages I saw the beautiful and detailed writing style Abigail Hunter used and I was completely hooked. The book is a bit slower to read because of that and harder because of the nature of the story, but that absolutely fine with me, because I just love it!
The action is instantly there - already in the first chapter, it does not bore the readers but helps them set the dynamics of the whole book and know Ruby - the FMC. That is actually the other thing that made a great impression to me - how good and skillfully the author presents her characters without it seeming forced or not in the right place. That presentation, that helps us to get to know them, is interwoven in to the plot, in to the action without stopping it or giving everything at once to the reader.
The sexual tension and dynamics between FMC and the MMCs was so good to read about, so satisfying that I couldn't stop reading about them.
And the ending... How am I supposed to wait until the next book? I need it now!

This was a dark, spicy red riding hood retelling with a paranormal twist, vampires vs. wolves. Ruby is a vampire who is meant to ascend the throne and become the new blood queen. However, Valko, Lucien & Fillian, a few of the only remaining wolves are determined to not let that happen or that'll mean the extinction of their kind. How do they plan to do so? Kidnap the princess, of course.
This book had an amazing plot with character development. The spice was 🌶🌶🌶🌶. There were many plot twists, but the biggest one was obviously the cliffhanger. I'm excited about book 2!

This book was definitely spicy and fun. Watching Ruby and the wolves' relationship and bond grow and change. The spicy scenes were definitely 🔥🌶🔥🌶🔥 and the connection between all of them was adorable. Of course I wasn't a fan of the cliffhanger and now having to wait till next year for the 2nd book but 🤷🏻♀️

Possible SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!
A heated Retelling of red riding hood with three wolves anyone would be happy to be trapped by!
Ruby is our FMC, a half vampire half dark Fae princess due to become the Scarlett Queen. She is travelling thru the black forest to get to the other side, but in the forest is all manor of creatures and monsters waiting for tasty treats like her and her travelling party. Not least the werewolves looking to take Revenge out on her for the destruction her father did, decimating the population of werewolves.
The mini battle has casualties and fatalities on each side but the wolves get what they came for - the princess. But they lose precious pack mates,enraging them further. Especially the alpha, Valko. Lucien too is angry but as the book goes on his feelings begin to shift. Fillian is the baby of the trio and he is in love with the princess so quickly.
They know she needs two things to become the queen. Her purity and the upcoming Empress moon. They take her purity and keep her captured as their prisoner until the moon dates. They send ransom notes to her father but hear nothing from him.
Due to her being able to hypnotise with her eyes she is kept blindfolded. She can compel with her voice, so she's kept gagged. As well as chained in the dungeon. She's only let out to let Fillian, and then lucien have their wicked ways with her. As time ticks on, it becomes more and more clear that there's something between all of them.... To everyone's shock, they realise they're mates.
After a while the mate bond clicks into place. And the wolves let their guard down.... But Ruby is such a sly princess. She plays them, but this doesn't mean she doesn't have feelings for them. She does. But she considers her duty to the people she will rule is much more important.

A great spicy start to a small wolf Shifter pack and vampire princess story. With an echo of red riding hood in the background, Ruby is a determined strong female that is needed when captured by the 3 wolves. The story is very much based around trying to make sure she doesn't escape and keeping Fillian's wolf from going feral and the only way for that is to keep the spicy scenes happening....i believe the second book will still have the spice but the story will be deeper as the princess becomes the queen... Very interested to find out what happens!!!! The cliffhanger is one that leaves you hanging!!!!

A heated Retelling of red riding hood with three wolves anyone would be happy to be trapped by!
Ruby is our FMC, a half vampire half dark Fae princess due to become the Scarlett Queen. She is travelling thru the black forest to get to the other side, but in the forest is all manor of creatures and monsters waiting for tasty treats like her and her travelling party. Not least the werewolves looking to take Revenge out on her for the destruction her father did, decimating the population of werewolves.
The mini battle has casualties and fatalities on each side but the wolves get what they came for - the princess. But they lose precious pack mates,enraging them further. Especially the alpha, Valko. Lucien too is angry but as the book goes on his feelings begin to shift. Fillian is the baby of the trio and he is in love with the princess so quickly.
They know she needs two things to become the queen. Her purity and the upcoming Empress moon. They take her purity and keep her captured as their prisoner until the moon dates. They send ransom notes to her father but hear nothing from him.
Due to her being able to hypnotise with her eyes she is kept blindfolded. She can compel with her voice, so she's kept gagged. As well as chained in the dungeon. She's only let out to let Fillian, and then lucien have their wicked ways with her. As time ticks on, it becomes more and more clear that there's something between all of them.... To everyone's shock, they realise they're mates.
After a while the mate bond clicks into place. And the wolves let their guard down.... But Ruby is such a sly princess. She plays them, but this doesn't mean she doesn't have feelings for them. She does. But she considers her duty to the people she will rule is much more important.

Have you ever thought that Beauty and the Beast or Little Red Riding Hood needed a lot of spice to their stories? Or maybe that Belle/Red needed multiple aggressive like wolves to treat them right? If so, then Blood Princess by Abigail Hunter is for you. This is a reverse harem fantasy romance with kidnapping, subterfuge within a kingdom and sacrifice. There is also some heavy SA in the first quarter of the book so be aware of your triggers. This story is about 80% smut and 20% plot. Which is not a bad thing.
The story begins with Ruby, the Vampire Princess of Cardinal Kingdom, on her way through the cursed Black Forest to ascend as a Scarlet Queen. As a Scarlet Queen she can save her kingdom from her horrid father who is endangering vampires and trying to wipe out the werewolves. Fillian, Lucien and Valko are a werewolf pack who want to avenge their fallen comrades due to the king and kidnap Ruby. They put her in a cave, bound, gagged and blindfolded to prevent her from being able to compel them. They steal her virtue and continue to use her while waiting for her father to give the ransom they have requested for Ruby’s release. During this time, Ruby is slowly falling for these men and the feelings are returned during each spicy scene. Ruby however has to remember her duty to become a Scarlet Queen to save her kingdom and then fight her heart of staying with these men who have become her soulmates.
My favorite thing about this book is the fact that Ruby chose to sacrifice her own heart for her kingdom. I feel often times there are stories where it results in a happy ever after or she choses her men over the kingdom and I liked this twist.
My least favorite thing about this (outside of the SA) is that this is marketed as a Little Red Riding Hood story but it felt more like Beauty and the Beast if the Beast was a wolf instead. There of course is the “all the better to eat you my dear” lines and Ruby has red hair and is nicknamed Red. However, the wolves are misunderstood and trying to survive through the trauma they’ve experienced. They kidnap a woman to help their cause and holds her hostage. Eventually they realize their mistake and show her love, comfort and trinkets. This results in them sacrificing their own body to try to protect her because of their love. This all seems Beauty and the Beast themed. I really liked the plot I just felt that this was advertised a little off of the story.
I rated this story a 4/5 stars. I thought the overarching plot was a good one and I’m excited for book 2 since it ends on a cliffhanger. I also thought the spice was very good spice.
