Claire and Sebastian found a way to be together despite all their trust issues. Settled into a loving relationship, they forget that there are people who will do anything to destroy their happiness.
What happens when all they are faced with are challenges and lots of enemies?
Will the love they found be enough to keep them together? Or is it just a fire that will consume all in its path and leave nothing behind?
Find out in the second installment of Beyond Trilogy.
Fire is an erotic novel intended for mature audience. It has really hot scenes and a lot of passion.18+
This is the next part of a trilogy involving two people who have been betrayed and damaged beyond normal repair. In Fire, we find them apart, fighting their love for each other as that emotion is just too much for the both of them.
Claire is a runner… she has had to run from real pain in the past and now she has run from the idea of pain with Sebastian… imagined as it hasn’t truly happened yet… the past reminds her of all the ways she used to handle the hurts … destructive, numbing and in the end torturous ways…. She has sworn to herself never… never again. Because Sebastian has the ability to reach her heart, if not already…
Sebastian… he has finally discovered the answer… the answer to his need… it surpasses his self preservation… his need for Claire and his desire for her will lead him out of the darkness…
So this chapter in the series is full of self realization… for Sebastian, Claire and many of the secondary characters from the first book. These discoveries are handled with care and in the end; there is great satisfaction for the characters and readers, in my opinion.
I feel the author has become surer of where this tale is taking us and we follow happily. The scenes flow and we are given characters who share why they are feeling the way they are… without a lot of the usual miscommunication of some books…. THANK YOU.
These two want each other and are delicate with finally giving the necessary clues as to where their hearts lay… but when they do… we, as readers, feel it. Everything isn’t perfect… there are hiccups along the way with Ex’s; threats and business issues.
As the bridge to the ending of this story… I am totally primed for the intense conclusion… as we have been left with a cliffhanger which must be answered…. So S.D. Mary…. get to writing…. I am waiting….
Arc provided by author in exchange for an honest review
I received a ARC for a review. This is the second book in the "Beyond" series. This books dives into some of Claire and Sebastian's inner demons. You learn more as to why they are broken. The first book was the initial meeting of course but this books works on Sebastian and Claire healing each other. Trust me there is still danger lurking about for these two. The feelings Claire and Sebastian have for one another, and are so afraid of are also on the cusp of explosion also. I still questioned Sebastian's dominant traits. The man likes control in and out of the bedroom but a Dom?? I wouldn't call Claire submissive but she likes the control that Sebastian has over her. He just wants to protect her and ultimately wants her to be his. Nicole the ex-fiancé bitch comes back and so does Seth. Seth is Claire's ex that literally broke her. Claire and Sebastian's love is tested time and time again in this book and just when you think everything is wonderful....BAM!!!! S.D. Mary has you going til the very last word in the book. Edge of your seat type stuff. I should also say that Sebastian's friend Jack provides some comic relief with his teasing. Dr. Anna is back also and she develops a friendship with Claire. I like Anna but there is more I want to know about her....there is definitely an interesting story there. I read this book super fast and it flowed amazingly. It's not an overly top drama but there is enough of it as I said to keep you on edge. I was always wondering what could happen next. At the end of the day the love story is genuine and these two souls are healing each other. Great book. Definitely read "Smoke" first so you can see how Claire and Sebastian started. Now to Mary.....I know you warned me about this ending. I promised I wouldn't beg but I am not above bribes. Name your price for the next book PRETTY PLEASE. YELF (Your Ever Loving Friend) Nikki
