If you live in an area such as New England that enjoys the numerous leaves falling to the ground during the Fall season, you may remember the fun that freshly fallen leaves provided for you and your friends. As you raked them into piles and then proceeded to jump, hide, and throw them during an afternoon of Fall fun? This is what the two characters experience in this simply written, well illustrated book that will appeal to young readers. Another added bonus is that the two main characters are Caucasian and African American. Their race is not a focus of the story but rather, simply depicts two children having fun. This book would be a nice introduction to young students who may not be exposed to different races in their environment. It would also provide African American students a text containing a character that looks similar to them just having fun without focusing on their skin color.
Fresh Fall Leaves was an easy book to read and follow. It was about leaves and everything you can do with them. Just a fun book to read when fall is the season because it is a simple reminder that leaves can be a fun activity to do outside.
Copyright 1994, this is a Scholastic book. Preschool & easy reader, older children will be bored. Things you can do with fallen leaves. I wasn't crazy about the illustrations.
Very short book about all the things you can do with leaves during the fall months. There's not a whole lot to the story really, but the illustrations are colorful and fun.

This easy read is very colorful and I think would really appeal to young children. The sentences are about three words but there are some difficult words such as leaves. I would use this book to build confidence in a child who is struggling in reading.
This book is very short and simple. It talks about fall leaves and the many ways children could play or have fun with them. It could be used in the classroom to explain the seasons and how/why leaves in the fall change from green to different colors.
Very basic, beginner book about what most people do in leaves. Would be a good book to use in younger grades to introduce a unit over leaves in the fall.
