Could there really be life beyond Earth? Readers visit scientists the world over who ambitiously seek to answer that question. Through a combination of captivating narrative and scientific facts, author Gloria Skurzynski skillfully demonstrates how the quest for extraterrestrial life is real, widespread, and growing.
That ambiguous wish was not meant to be kind, because interesting times can be difficult. You and I certainly live in interesting times - dangerous, challenging, and fascinating.
My parents were born just before the start of the twentieth century; my youngest grandchild arrived in this century's final decade. The years in between have been the most dynamic in the history of the human race. Technical knowledge has exploded; so has the Earth's human population. We can create almost anything, yet each day we lose parts of our planet that can never be replaced.
I'm greedy: I want to write about all of it - the history, the grief, joy, and excitement of being human in times past; the cutting-edge inventions of times almost here.

Are we alone was a great book. It talked about some pretty awesome stuff and place in the world that we have never heard about. The talked about what aliens might have looked like, what technology is used to find alien civilizations, and planets where we can go live(Maybe 10% chance). Even thought i read it just for fun, i learnt a ton.
Tons of information on the search and how it might happen. If you think it might happen, you want to read this book to understand how and who will be making the first contact. I like this kind of stuff so I 'm giving it a good read rating.
