I'm just... wow. What an amazing story. Joseph Dougherty continues to bless us with his absolutely beautiful writing. The Persistence of Phosphors was transporting to another time and place in a way that made it come alive for me. Paige and Emily's emotions and romance was heart achingly real and left me feeling a strange mixture of happiness, yearning and melancholy. The realism in the end about the trials their love will face made me hate anew the wasted, ingnorant years for everyone on this planet who were denied their chance to be happy and whole by the fear and shaming of others.

But in the end, this is still a story of love and courage. And hope for a better world.

What a sweet and lovely fiction . I like the way Joseph tells every detail about everything. The way he tells about Paige's feelings towards Emily and the way he describes them is just beautiful.

Amazing! Just so well-written, like classic poetry. It's really a love letter to "Paily" fans who are missing our couple. Looking forward to devouring book 3!
