Great concept. Not quite as bright and shiny to me as the first one - but that's probably because I'm a World-Building appeal person, and I'm always a little let down when we stop focusing on exploring the world and get into the Plot and Character things.
It may not have been super clear in my review of the first that this is pretty adult. So, there's that.
I will read and probably enjoy the third. But would probably enjoy the machinations more if I'd read them in quick succession. So, maybe you should wait till they're all out?

Honnêtement rien à dire, la grossophobie hyper présente dans tout le tome m'a totalement empêchée de l'apprécier.

Encore une très bonne lecture pour ce deuxième tome de la saga Zombillénium, même si un peu en deçà du premier pour ma part.
J'ai beaucoup aimé l'humour décalé de cette saga, même si je n'ai pas retrouvé ce qui m'avait tant plus dans le précédent, à savoir les références à la pop-culture.
Je vais tout de même lire la suite avec grand enthousiasme !

Toujours aussi sympa ! J'adore les références qui y sont faites, ni trop ni trop peu tout est bien dosé. Je suis curieuse de connaître la suite, le point négatif étant le même que pour le premier tome : c'est beaucoup trop court !

Funny concept that's about "zombies" because they all are alive after dying. The "brains zombies" are the majority of co-workers to the main cast which is made up of all species of universally known monsters.

Passé la surprise de la découverte du concept au 1er tome, mon intérêt en a pris un petit coup.
Néanmoins, le graphisme est toujours aussi soigné et la diversité des formats de planches met un peu d'ambiance dans ce 2ème opus.
En revanche, la fin est surprenante également !

Might have liked this one even more than the first one and I’m wondering if it’s because I read it in it’s original language rather than a translation.
I got totally immersed in the story by the mystery unraveling and thought it was really well paced, I didn’t want to put it down! I also forgot how funny these books are!

You have no idea how happy I was when I went to pick this up at the Post Office! The de Pins' artwork is just too beautiful. However, I felt they could have done so much more with the antagonist, explaining her motives and reasons or how she was able to do what she did (no spoilers from me), but instead the story focused more on fat-shaming. Still, the artwork never fails to please. I can't believe I have to wait an entire year before the next volume! Gah!

Zombillenium #2 (Human Resources) by Arthur de Pins picks up where the first installment ended and with this volume, brings in the fragile relationship between the amusement park and the surrounding community.

Gretchen and Aurelian step in to handle the madness but the park director knows that there is something very strange about the visitor. Strange and familiar.

Book two picks up after book one and yet tells its own tale in a very satirical and yet human fashion. The problems faces by the array of monsters and dead in Zombillenium are problems that people face on a daily basis. Acceptance and bigotry and trying to just get a damn promotion when you are working your ass off. There is also the act of child abandonment and the consequences of our past.
Zombillenium is a treat, a unique and original view of the world that borrows somewhat from the campy comedies of the past but is still very much, its own tale.

In this 2nd Zombillenium graphic novel, the horror theme park gets 2 sets of unwelcome visitors. First is a pair of neo-nazi rednecks with a bomb who take the skeleton's head to get them inside and hide the rest of his bones. They represent a group of disgruntled 'villagers' who are annoyed because local unemployment is rife and the park only hires monsters and not humans. The satire here's quite fun.
The 2nd plot strand revolves around a family visiting the park. The overweight mother tried to get rid of her unwanted child via 'a shifty fellow' who performs an exorcism in utero splitting the kid into two entities: Tim your usual goth teen who remained with his parents and demon Astaroth whom she dumps in the waste bin outside the park. He got rescued by vampire Francis and is now the park's star attraction.
I don't know if its a bad translation but the plot here made little sense or maybe there just isn't enough explanation/backstory.

Pas du tout déçue, toujours aussi bon que le premier tome, j'en suis ravie !
J'ai lu pas mal de commentaires accusant (à tort ou pas, je n'en sais rien) l'auteur de grossophobie dans ce volume 2, et pour être honnête la première réflexion que je me suis faite en le lisant au tout début a été : "grossophobie". MAIS, loin de moi l'envie de me faire l'avocate du diable (sans jeu de mots aucun), j'ai plutôt l'impression après avoir terminé ma lecture, que la BD est faite d'un peu d'humour noir et qu'on s'attaque à tous les sujets*/tout le monde.
Je me trompe peut-être !!! Surtout que je ne suis pas concernée par cette discrimination, je me suis d'ailleurs demandée si je n'aurais pas été blessée si ça avait été le cas (?).
J'avoue être confuse et ne pas trop savoir du coup.
*à un moment par exemple deux des personnages parlent du suicide, l'un des deux tourne le sujet de manière à faire rire le lecteur, il y a aussi le sujet de l'avortement, et là encore je n'ai rien trouvé de dérangeant

Un second tome tout aussi déjanté que le premier !! L'humour est toujours aussi présent. On suit les péripéties des démons dans le parc et ses sous-sols, on entre dans les coulisses du spectacle. On découvre la vérité sur un certain Astaroth. Je ne sais pas pourquoi mais cette BD me rappelle beaucoup Camera Café, pour le côté brèves d'entreprise déjantées, le côté divertissant des monstres en tout genre en plus !!!
Les graphismes conservent leur aspect cartoonesque et j'ai appris qu'un dessin animé a été adapté de cette BD, le dessin s'y prête particulièrement je trouve et j'ai hâte de le découvrir.
Pour ce qui est de la fin du tome, on a d'emblée envie d'entamer la suite, mais j'ai réussi à me freiner pour savourer ce troisième, n'ayant pas encore le 4 sous la main.
Je vous conseille vraiment cette BD si vous aimez les histoires marrantes, les personnages déjantés, les parcs d'attraction et toutes les créatures de l'ombre.

Rien de tel qu'une BD zombillénium pour commencer la journée avec humour n'est bonne humeur. Comme le tome 1, les illustrations sont très agréables, l'histoire est originale et à mourir de rire, ça tombe bien vu qu'on n'est dans un parc d'attractions où les employés sont morts. Entre Sirius qui se fait prendre en otage et de l'humaine qui fait plus peur que les monstres, j'ai beaucoup rigolé et comme le premier tome, la révélation de la fin m'a pris par surprise. Le seul point noir, c'est qu'on n'en a pas assez. Faut que je me commande le tome 3.

Un très bon second tome qui nous permet d'en apprendre un peu plus sur le fonctionnement du parc! J'aime vraiment beaucoup le style des dessins alors que je pensais qu'il me dérangerait avant de commencer cette saga: au contraire, ça rajoute un petit quelque chose de particulier à cet univers! J'apprécie toujours autant Gretchen et le fait de découvrir de nouveaux personnages. En bref : c'est toujours aussi excellent!

Pour être honnête, la première fois que j'ai lu ce tome, je ne l'ai pas trop aimé. Pas parce qu'il n'est pas bon (il l'est), mais parce qu'Aurélien, mon personnage favori, n'apparaît qu'en caméo. J'étais déçue parce que je voulais en apprendre plus sur son histoire.
Après relecture (et avoir dépassé cette déception), je l'apprécie bien davantage. Toujours pas autant que le premier, mais il est quand même très chouette

I was so hyped by the first book and now I am just meh
I was disappointed to not see more of Aurélien, disturbed by the fatphobia, and the weird view on abortion ..
Also the story of the two twin brother was just ??
But I still like the idea of the amusement park, and the monsters, Gretchen is still my fav but I need to find the humour and the craziness of the first book, to help me continue the next one, because that one just felt weird and like it was trying to fill a plot hole..

3.5 ⭐'s I couldn't decide between 3 stars or 4 stars so let's just split the difference. Just as funny and entertaining as the first one. The volumes are not very long but they are a good time. The humor doesn't seem forced and I just love the attitude and disposition of the character Gretchen lol. And it seems Aurelian has accepted his fate and embraced his new form and job. Can't wait to read volume 3. I hate waiting a whole month for my next Hoopla borrows 😔

La seconde partie de cette série est top et j'espère que ça va continuer ainsi. Honnêtement c'est un concept simple et ça a la même vibe que hotel transylvanie et je pense que c'est pour ça que j'apprécie , faire des monstres une caricature du monde du travail c'est tip top <3

A fun little adventure about a family getting involved with the park, while two jerks try to destroy it. I was let down by the fat jokes, and some of the jokes that may or may not be homophobic? The actual mystery of the plot isn't great, but there are plenty of creative little moments with the characters. The vampire suicide joke, the mummy bungee, and everything with the demons was fun.

Un deuxième tome graphiquement magnifique - comme le premier, bien sûr - avec une histoire un peu plus sombre que dans le premier tome. On aime retrouver les personnages du tome précédent et l'ambiance.

On continue la relecture de la série, que j'apprécie toujours, si on enlève le fait que la grossophobie est bien présente dans ce tome (chose que j'avais oublié), et qu'on se le dise : c'était pas du tout nécessaire. Vraiment dommage...

Un autre bon tome que j'ai dévoré! Le personnage de Sirius est un de mes personnages préférés.

I love the artwork of these books!!! I am enjoying the story, wish there was more of it and more on the characters! so many of them!

This story line really is a cool concept. This volume wasn't as interesting as the first one, but it wasn't bad
