A massive solar flare devastated civilization, returning humanity to near barbarism. Teenagers Blaine and Kara, along with both an old friend and new ally, have managed to survive among the deadly and unforgiving conditions. They are threatened not only by desperate humans that know no other way to survive than to prey upon others, but also by the Intruders, hideous creatures that destroy everything in their path. The group is forced to move constantly to avoid attacks, but Kara’s love for Blaine is unyielding as they both grow accustomed to their newly found gift, the ability to catch glimpses of the future through shared visions. One unwelcome vision haunting Kara could mean her love for Blaine comes with a terrible price, a price she is not willing to pay.
I am a student, homemaker, and mother of twin 7 year old boys. As a crafter, musician, and now writer, I am always looking for the next big project.
A child of military, I was born on a U.S. Air Force Base in Japan. The oldest of four children, I spent a great deal of my childhood following my family all over the country. Having lived in places such as Alaska and Hawaii, life was never boring while growing up. Finally, my father retired after 20+ years of service and we settled in Missouri when I turned 13. Excited that I would be able to start and finish school in one location, I made sure High School was an experience I would never forget.
I had succeeded in such a way, that it has been a major influence in my choice of writing genre. YA is my absolute favorite genre, reading and writing. So much that I was inspired to write a novella while in X-Ray school! And now, here I am, an Indie Author with a fascination of the paranormal, ability to see right through people, and a licorice addiction. Thankfully, my OCD to finish what I start was activated while writing my first book, 3Days.
Don't worry...I am only dangerous when you take my candy.
Overall, I can't say I disliked it. It brought me back to some cool characters I had discovered in "3 Days", plus, it had some new cool characters that I grew to like as well. The pace was nice, the twists were well-handled, and it was a good story in general. I do have one almost-major complain, though: the wrap-up felt too abrupt. Plus, there were some things that remained unexplored and unexplained. It was like- things suddenly, magically, worked themselves out, our characters having none to do with it. It just... Happened. WHY? Also, another complain was Kara: for all the time she spent complaining about not wanting to be the typical "damsel in distress" everyone needed to take care of, she sure found herself in that position more often than not. I just feel that maybe if the story had another book, it could be better wrapped up.
I loved reading this series until I got to the ending. The author was constantly building up the plot and the characters and she makes you think that something huge is going to happen when in reality it really doesn't.
I mean why give these people powers if you aren't going to have them do anything extraordinary with them to save human kind. In reality all they really did, is what every other person in the book was doing and that was trying to survive.
The ending was that the light turned back on and that the Intruders went back underground. I mean are you Freaking kidding me! That has to be the worst ending ever. Why even write the damn series if you are going to end it that way!

It was a great and fast read- great for a night or weekend read. I wish that it wouldn't have ended so fast- I needed a little bit more time to say goodbye to the characters :)
