On landing at New Orleans’ International Airport, Omega Airlines 737 goes off the end of the runway. The investigation into the incident reveals the crew rushed to land before an approaching thunderstorm.

Months later, reporter Stacy Greenier confronts Omega Airlines 737 Fleet Manager, Kyle Masters, asking pointed questions. Her mysterious behavior makes Kyle reluctant to contemplate the issues she questions until evidence is hidden from him, and his questions are answered with vague replies. People involved in the incident begin dying.

With the help of NTSB Investigator Lori Almond, Kyle learns there’s more to the incident than a crew rushing to land.

I read this novel on a flight from Dallas to London - not the wisest decision! I'd read Dana Griffin's THE COVER-UP and knew what I was getting into with COERCED - something bad would happen to an airplane. It's not that the airplane incident itself is horrific, what scared me is how easily something like this could happen. And probably has. More than once. One of the things that makes his work so good is that Griffin knows how to fly, and more importantly, knows how the airline industry works.

Griffin takes a "simple" incident like an airplane sliding off a runway and gives us a plausible reason: very bad weather. Then his main character, Kyle Masters, digs and digs until he uncovers the truth - a conspiracy put in place by Omega Airlines to hide the real reason the plane slid off the runway, and the reason its personnel are dying, which has nothing to do with the weather.

If you enjoy thrillers and conspiracies, you'll enjoy COERCED!

Airplane thriller

This was a very good story pertaining to pilot fatigue and the amount of rest they need given their schedules. When an incident occurs where a plane slid off the runway, Kyle Masters discovers there's more going on than what the public is being told. Having worked for his airline for years, he starts asking questions that are making some pretty bad people want to silence him. This puts his own life in danger as well as his family's and the woman he loves.

Kyle is divorced with one son. Kyle's ex-wife is a major thorn in his side, especially since he started dating girlfriend, Lori. The personal aspects of Kyle's life really add to the story and their were a couple of nail biting scenes that had me on the edge of my seat. Looking forward to reading more of this series.

Coercion, corruption, collusion, cover-up and more!

Omega Airline's Pilot Kyle Masters, and NTSB Investigator Lori Almond once again find themselves in the middle of a conspiracy to silence the truth about what happened in an airline " incident" of Master's Omega Airline's. And, as in Book 1, of this 3-book series, author Dana Griffin brings his A-game to the table and delivers another great read, packed with many of the characters from Book 1, along with a very plausible plot, great dialog and enough action to satisfy all but the most demanding of critics. Can be read as a stand-alone book, but the reader will get more out of the book if read after Book 1 of this series. ... And, as for me, I'm on to Book 3!

This book was a significant improvement over the first Kyle Masters book. The dialogue was much better and Kyle's thoughts and feelings seemed more natural and believable. The overall plot was a stretch. I found it hard to believe. However, I also found it interesting and it was an enjoyable read. What I didn't enjoy were the number of typos in the text! I counted 19. My real rating is a 3.5. I'm debating if I'll read #3?

Hard for me to believe anybody would order a murder(s) over commercial pilot schedules. Being a pilot myself I just found the story line too hard to believe. It was just too far fetched for me. The crash landing of the Cessna Citation was not at all realistic. Because of this book I don't think I will ever read anything else written by Dana Griffin. The writing just isn't that good, IMVHO.

Taunt and informative?

I read many airliner centric novels...dreams of long ago. All are interesting - see previous- but very few satisfy that "gotta read a good story now" itch. This one, as did it's predecessor, ticked all the boxes. I'm on to the next one with avid anticipation!

Unrealistic and Boring- Not Recommended

Very unrealistic plot. There is much detail about flying that would not be understood by a non-pilot and would probably be boring. I can not recommend this book

Engrossing

This was a really good read. Lots of twist and turns with plenty of suspense. I would find myself recalling what I had read the evening before the next morning and wanted to read more.

Great read for airline people

As a former airline employee I could visualize the terms and descriptions used to create a great story line. I am looking forward to reading the next Dana Griffin novel.

Great read. A real page turner.

My Father was a pilot instructor for the 737 the last 10 years of his career. I picture him tackling these situations.

Too Mushy!

Enjoyed the first book and expected much more than this garbage. Guess I'll end relations with this author. Griffin should start romance novels.

Whether Kyle Masters wants it or not, trouble always seems to find him. Dana Griffin does it again in his second book of this outstanding airline series. Griffin drags us full on into the story in only the first few pages. Something I've come to throughly enjoy about his novels. He doesn't make you wait to get to the action, which is always my favorite part.

Kyle doesn't have to look far for this adventure as it stems from his company, Omega Airlines. When the wife of a deceased pilot comes asking Kyle questions, he ultimately doesn't have a choice but to help the woman dig for answers. But when his higher-ups find out about it, his family is yanked in the mix and his job is put on the line. Someone close to him will die, but that only fuels Kyle more. Who is really the person doing the Coercing? You need to read and find out for yourself. An action packed thrill ride you shouldn't miss!

(Not suitable for readers under 18)

I’d like to start by saying, I LOVE Kyle Masters. He is quirky, cool, and a total kickass. I don’t care how brilliant the plot is, if the characters that are driving the story fall flat. Kyle and crew most definitely do not.

…And the plot ROCKS, too!

A news reporter grilling Omega Airlines 737 Fleet Master, Kyle, about an aircraft accident, which had been swept under the rug, launches the reader into another pulse-pounding, page-turning, thrill ride. At least, my pulse was pounding, as bodies began piling up and homicidal thugs seemed to be lurking around every corner. Kung fu expert Kyle laid waste to them quickly, however, in some of the most exciting fight sequences I’ve ever read. I could visualize each move executed perfectly. And the story’s climax— Intense!

Goes without saying, I look forward to the next fix Kyle gets himself into, although he could probably use a breather after the few harrowing days he just had.

Airlines and relations nice book

I liked the book many hints about governing bodies and their efficiencies or inefficiencies one can tell. Over all it was nice holiday reading, a page turner after some ground work. Thanks
