Julian Barrows has his hands full working full time and being a single dad to his kindergarten, special needs son, Gabe. Gabe's teacher convinces Julian he doesn't need to do everything on his own and introduces him to a seizure dog trainer, Hanna Acker.
Hanna and her sister grew up without any 'Christmas Cheer'. She's trying to get her sister through college and doesn't have time to let anyone too close, especially the handsome single dad with a kid.
But, Christmas has a way of changing what we thought we wanted... especially when Santa and an adorable four-legged 'elf' are involved.

Christmas Gift that Keeps Wagging was a treasure to read. A special needs child, Gabe, has one wish for Christmas. He wants Cody. Cody is a dog trained to detect seizures and that he does when in Gabe’s presence. Gabe’s dad Julian has been a single dad since the boy’s mom left. It hasn’t been easy for Julian but he was raised not to ask for help. When he realizes he needs to begin to ask, Hanna Acker comes into their lives. She is the lady who trained Cody and opens Julian’s heart.
A delightful story to introduce special needs children and the special dogs that can help. Jennifer Conner delivers the true meaning of Christmas in this read and what is most important. This story will touch your heart.
This was a quick read and a sweet read! who doesn't love a bit of romance thrown in with a pet? Jennifer Conner features a trained epilepsy dog in this book. It was a precious gift to a needy child and overwhelmed dad to meet this dog and its trainer!!! Can love bloom? Will Santa bring Cody(the trained epilepsy dog) to Gabe? Read this delightful book to find out! I rec'd a free pdf version of this book from the author in honor of the Sweet 'N Steamy Blog Tour and in exchange for my honest review.
Delightful romance story that brings home the true meaning of Christmas. Julian struggles every day to be a great Dad as he copes with his son's, Gabe, epilepsy. The thought of Gabe having a seizure scares him and keeps him up at night. Enter Hanna who works with dogs trained to detect and help epilepsy patients. Hanna is training Cody to be one of these service dogs and Cody is a big hit with Gabe. Julian struggles to ask for help but finds a kindred spirit in Hanna. Will he let down his walls to really let her in? Enjoyed this short read as a great pick me up and a great reminder of what is really important in life.
When his son complains about lack of friends and some teasing, Julian Barrows decides it is imperative to take action quickly. His son has suffered enough with his seizures all his life. When he finds out about a therapeutic dog program, his hopes are high until he learns the cost. On the plus side, he meets dog trainer Hanna Acker and sees a chance at happiness for he and his son.
Quick read. This was a sweet holiday read that gets you ready to nestle up with hot chocolate and get into the holiday spirit. I liked the angle of the therapy dogs, I thought this was a fascinating topic that I would be interested in reading more about.
*I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review* Letters to Santa can come true. The owner of a service dog named Cody and the father of a young boy with epilepsy fall in love during the Christmas season. Hannah has never had a "merry" Christmas and Julian's wife left him three years earlier because she was unable to deal with a child with epilepsy. The young boy named Gabe writes a letter to Santa asking for Cody for Christmas. Not only does Santa deliver Cody but Gabe and Julian get Hannah to move in with them. A heartwarming Christmas story.
★★★★Christmas Gift that Keeps Wagging (Dog Tails #2)
I was given this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
This is a Christmas short.
I fell in love with this one from the very beginning. Service dogs are wonderful, we love ours. This was a heart touching story about a little boy, and his furry best friend. Santa comes early and delivers love to everyone.
Julian Barrows is a single dad, raising his epileptic son, Gabe. He is referred to an agency that has service dogs that can help Gabe. Through the agency, he meets Hanna and the dog she has trained, and sees how the dog reacts when Gabe has a seizure. But the cost is very expensive. Julian and Hanna continue to meet and sparks fly. Can Santa help make Gabe's wish for Christmas come true.
Excellent story! I love animals and Christmas as main subjects in my books, so when I find a book that combines both I'm absolutely in heaven!! This is one of the best story's I've read in a while. Feel good reading from page one till done.
I read the first Dog Tail and was looking forward to reading this one. This was another sweet and very touching romance story. I really enjoyed this read and I'm looking forward to reading the next one.
This book was much better than the first in this series. I liked that there was some depth as far as the dog having a cause. I would give this a 3.5 if there was such a thing.
I received the book for free through Goodreads First Reads. It was a cute short story about love, kindness, compassion and the meaning of what is really important in life.
