Jay's school burned down last Tuesday at two! This is a rhyming picture book for young children and new readers. Jay Cub and his friend, James, experience a very serious emergency situation at school: a fire! Read about their safe escape and Jay's struggle with the loss of his school. The story has a happy ending: the town finds a fun, new building for the children to use: an old mall! This book is both serious and fun. It touches on the potential impact of a serious safety situation while also providing the fun fantasy of setting up a school inside a mall. "Emergency Last Tuesday at Two" has a readability score of first grade, third month (Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level Readability). It would also make a good gift for anyone named "Jacob" or "Jay." "Emergency Last Tuesday at Two" is a Wooli Book, owned and managed by Wooli Labs LLC
This is an interesting children's book, mainly because it deals with a pretty sensitive topic: an emergency at an elementary school during school hours. It shows a class going through a real-life fire drill. The little boy in the book is clearly disturbed about the situation, and you see him talking about his feelings with his mother. But the book is also relatively short, and the pictures actually tell at least half of the story. So it makes for a pretty good tool for discussion between an adult and a child. And the story also rhymes, which lightens the reading experience and makes it fun.
Enjoyed readying this and I thought the illustrations were awesome as well. I passed this book along to my friend who teaches kindergarten and she is sharing it with her class as a learning tool to compliment classroom emergency drills!
Is a great book for the children. So if you have a child that is just learning to read, or you read to them, would recommend. It shows children how to deal with an emergency.
