I used this book, and others in the Bow-Wow! Dog Helpers series, for an inquiry project with first graders. These books contain many non-fiction text features to reinforce to young learners how to use informational texts. The photos are engaging and pages are layed out in a way that is understandable. Language is appropriate for young learners, and the topic is highly engaging.
