O My Son

Rate this book
One of the duties parents owe their children is to guide them aright by educating them. They should correct their children's errors and most importantly guide them to live a life that is pleasing to Allah and teach them a means of achieving it. Allah points these duties to parents, particularly the fathers, In His book (the Qur'aan) when he gave the example of Luqmaan and his son.
'And (remember) when Luqmaan said to his while he was advising him: "O my son! join not in worship others with Allah. Verily! joining others in worship with Allah is a great Zulm (wrong) indeed. "Luqmaan (31:13).
Our success as parents is determined largely by how well we are able to discharge those responsibilities Allah has placed on us regarding out children. this book explains different aspects of the advice of Luqmaan to his son and its significance for a successful life.

Found it hard to read because of the extensive footnotes. Some of the translations don't match the original text too.

Mashallah, What a great book!!
A brother f mine who studies with my at Islamic Online University sent me this book today. I started reading it after Maghrib and couldn't put it down until Isha, and then finished it after Isha.

Very nice and detailed explanation of the Ayat where Luqman advises his son. yet not too detailed. It's a beginners level I would think, but very very beneficial for everyone.

It is part of a series called Golden Advice Series by Darussalam which I intend to read more of Inshallah.

I really recommend this book as it is easy, short, and contian a big chunk of the very important basics of Islam.

Also I would like to that my brother Imtiyaz Again for sharing this great book with me, and may Allah SWT grant him good deeds for sharing this great book.
