Not the worst children's book ever, especially when you remember that it's written for the beginning reader, but not particularly clever or well done either. A solid "meh".

Toad on the Road is a book about a toad who is a cautious driver who sees his friends while driving around picking his friends up and just driving all day, going anywhere and everywhere! This book rhymes and is very simple to read. This is a easy to read book under PreK-1st grade. I would read this out loud to my class the vocabulary is very simple and the pictures and plot of the story are so cute!

You forever cherish the book that gave your child the gift of reading. I mean, there is nothing profound about this book but the memories that we have attached to it!

A quick read for Maddie - she’s alternating short books with me reading hockey stories.

This is a good book for beginning readers. The story is simple, the characters are funny and overall, it's easy to read. The vocabulary is just challenging enough for young readers to explore new words without getting too frustrated. Our oldest enjoys reading books like these.

Love this book because it is very easy to read and it is really fun. If you read it, you don't get sick of it, if your child reads it, they feel so proud. Must have.

I've decided to keep reviews of books I read to my son, as well. This is the first one. Cute illustrations. I think this is the first of several we have. I like some of the others a bit better.

Same happy toad from "Toad Eats Out," but rhymes aren't as catchy overall. Still, Jake digs it.
