Set near where I grew up with references to Great Santini and Moonstruck on the inside jacket, this is probably why I bought it years ago. I might have appreciated it more back then as the other cultural references are also very close to someone my age (just a smidge older than the author). Not as eventful as the older me would have liked it to be.
