When Andy brings Buzz Lightyear to school for show-and-tell, Buzz has an adventure of his very own! But will he make it back to Andy’s backpack before it’s time to go home?
Part of the lackluster Toy Story And Beyond book series for school kids, which is based on the lousy Toy Story films which somehow made Tom Hanks and Tim Allen more approachable to kids than ever before. This book has Buzz Lightyear, Space Ranger Action Doll, and best buddy of Andy, who looks too mature at ten years old to be taking a toy Doll to school for show and tell. But then I was eight once and had to bring my stuffed animal Snuffleupagus to summer camp, an event I now look back on and can say with assurance what the hell was I thinking.... anyway, moving on: Andy totes his Buzz in his backpack and during lunch, leaves them both in his desk seat, leaving Buzz to roam around the class by himself, as though investigating a hostile planet, only to encounter a horrific creature straight from every man's nightmare: a cuddly hamster! THE HORROR!!!! And....that's pretty much it. Your basic Disney agenda in the form of a kid's book. Two stars To apathy and beyond!!! (Zzzzz)
