Santana Knox is a Brazilian author, a South American immigrant, a mother, wife and witch.

Santana got tired of letting the voices in her head drive her crazy, and decided to write down the stories they were begging to tell instead. A lover of the unusual, and a hopeless romantic when it comes to toxic villains, Santana's books should always be taken with a grain of salt, specifically the kind that keeps demons away.

A white lady faking immigration issues to a Mexican immigrant... and it was brushed off like that's not a big deal?
Reversed stereotype when he literally would've married her for no reason.
I honestly didn't find the irony, maybe if it hadn't been false... she also victimized herself & villainizes him so much as if she was forced into this marriage of convenience by him, it was literally her idea? She didn't like
"criminals" but worked for them before this, all of a sudden she's surrounded by Latinx people & has an issue?

I must confess sometimes a little toxicity is good for the soul...😗

"I told her she was mine. I told her I owned her. What I had meant from day one was that she owned me, that I was hers to love or to ruin, to have or to discard."

Cesar and Emory were everything that I needed. The constant push and pull, the banter, the rage, the lust, and the longing was chef kiss😆. It was very interesting to see how truly tethered they are no matter how hard Emory tried to fought off their connection. Both of their backstory broke my heart but seeing a man like Cesar become Emory's peace was EVERYTHING!

After a lifetime of running, I met a man who would burn the whole world just to get me back. Someone to trust with my life and secrets.

Anyways I really enjoyed this story and I am excited to see what more this series has to offer!

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you so much, Santana Knox & Amy Oliveira!

“Being loved by César Villalobos was the most dangerous thing I'd ever done, and yet, it had never been my choice.”

No Place For Devils is the first book in the Diablos Locos Motorcycle Club series. It's actually my first MC book and I'm glad it was written by two Brazilian authors. There's a Latin representation where Spanish is not the default language.

César Villalobos is the president of Los Diablos Locos MC, which is involved with the Flores Cártel (Reina Del Cártel series). Emory O'Connor worked as the Black Crow Brotherhood's doctor. Once upon a time, she was saved by them, and ever since she's been tending to their men.

With trouble knocking on Emory's door, she turns to the scariest man she knows. César agrees to marry her if she becomes the doctor for Los Diablos, an official position.

Emory is a great, strong, and resilient FMC. I really liked her and her character development. We get to see her nuances and how her past has shaped her present. I wish I'd had that same experience with César though. It took a while for him to grow on me and even then, he felt one-dimensional.

Emory and César were absolutely explosive together, no doubt. But things happened a little too fast for my liking between the two of them, despite the slight emotional slow burn.

Also, I had I hard time figuring out the timeline. Especially regarding the Fever. I didn't enjoy the illness storyline, I didn't feel like it was well interwoven into the plot. I'm curious how it will play out in the next books—at least I hope it will.

That being said, I think the ending could've been wrapped up better, regardless if it's the first book of a series. I don't know whether the next book is going to follow Emory and César or if it's going to be a new couple. Either way, I'm curious to see where the story is leading.

Not going to say much about my decision to skip this one other than - if you have a book in which representation is critiqued as being not okay (understatement) or accurate, the solution is not to remove the identity of a particular character, but rather listen in terms of the ways that it could've/can be better. In this case, the issue is on immigration and Mexican representation.

You can't erase a character's representation from a work at the stroke of a pen. Nor the very real stereotypes/prejudices that people face in specific communities. I'm steering clear of the conversation apart from that because I think members of those communities can express that better than I can.

i loved this book so much!

i don’t know how many times i can say i love a broken a hero who doesn’t think he’s good enough but….. I LOVE A BROKEN MAN.

the book does start with the H grinding an ow on his covered but *hard* lap literally seconds before he meets the h but once he sees her….no one else exists for him and honestly i usually hate when the ow is always there but she was not a problem AT ALL. the H always told her he couldn’t give her a relationship and when she cried about him getting married to the h he didn’t even wipe her tear because he thought that was too intimate 😂 but then later in the book when the h cries he wipes it and idk i just loved that 😂🫣

there is also a scene when the h says she won’t have sex with him in front of the entire club so he takes the ow up to his room to make the h jealous but the ow immediately says she doesn’t sleep with married men and he immediately tells her he isn’t going to fuck her and the ow even tells him the h deserves more than whatever he was trying to pull by bringing her up to his room.

Emory rejects him and his club at every turn to protect herself and it really takes a toll on Lobo and his insecurities. he pissed me off in the beginning because he didn’t know her trauma and just kept thinking she thought she was better than everyone when that wasn’t it at all.

he loved her so much in the only way he knew how 🥹

i can’t wait to read the rest of this series because it was just SO GOOD.

def check the tw though. there are mentions of abuse though none is described and there is a virus that kills a lot of people

p.s. i loved ‘Mor so much and was worried he was going to die because i got so attached to him and i’ve been burned in the past 😂

When I started to read this book, I felt like it was going to be a 4 star read. I was captivated from the prologue . Unfortunately I have to give this a 2.75 ⭐️ (and the .75 is me being generous Bc I lowkey did like the Lobo)

Lobo is so adorable - at one point I wanted to be someone’s Blanca or ol’ Lady LOL but the more I read seeing as he is a full blown 40 years old man I’m like gahhhdamnnnnn homie immature lol

Things I loved
1. Emery being strong and finding her place as a doctor
2. Her finally realizing she loves Lobo
3. The Diablos are funny and low key cute

Things I hated (and came outta left field LORD)

1. Where was all the banter for 8 months between both lobo and emery. Like I would have liked a snippet to everytime they met and had banter (it would have been a nice build up to their love story)

2. YOU BROUGHT IN MY PTSD BY TALKING ABOUT A DAMN VIRUS TAKING OVER THE WORLD! Uh uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I know the author did notttt just do that.

3. This virus was the biggest curve ball to the entire story.. like why? Whyyyyy was this such a major plot? I thought the plot was shorty running from Kelly (Irish mafia) and came To Lobo for protection… YOU throwing in a deadly virus in the mix ? I mean DJ CHANGE THE PLOT

4. Again- whyyyy the virus spin?

5. She realizes she lives homeboy and in the midst of 🌶️ scene she decides “hmmmm I’ll sacrifice my life for the diablos “ chileeeee DID YOU NOT MARRY HOMEBOY TO PROTECT YOU from these DEMONS?

6. She gets dragged into a cage- and then her man who already articulated to her in multiple languages that HE GOT her BACK- that he LUVS her- comes in guns blazing to save her.

7. Then he destroys a room fulll of flowers Bc he thinks she don’t love him. First of all- can you check if shorty good?

8. After the “saving her from the Irish mafia” plot- we go into them getting lit - for him to wake up with her going through a seizure from the VIRUS!! Yes you heard me .. the damn virus takes over right when she was ridinn homeboy ! Lord what in the hell was the author thinkingggggggggg. Why is this happening .

9. The story continues with them getting it on non stop- great- happiness- but the story doesn’t end there- NOPE

10. Anyways if you love this book- im happy for you, I wanted to love this so bad but that damn virus angle - brought in the ptsd from covid and nothing really made much sense - like I wish we got to see the banter and the buildup of their love. Everything was sped up in the end and I was over it.

4.5 ⭐️’s

“I wanna know every single person you’ve ever been.”

Santana and Amy outdid themselves. I already enjoyed Emory and César in the Reina del Cartel series, but this book gave me all the feels. I’m a César Villalobos simp.

As always i’ll read anything Santana’s a part of and again I was left entertained and immersed the whole time.

Thank you so much Good Girls PR for sending me an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review.

In terms of characters, i felt that Lobo felt very one dimensional. He was obsessed with Emory and would kill/die for her. But i never really understood why.

Emory felt a bit more fleshed out but she was very quick to sacrifice herself which i also had trouble believing.

There were MANY big plot points but they felt sort of random? Like these big events were happening but i couldn’t figure out what each event had to do with one another.

I think both authors are talented and i will continue to read their work, this one just unfortunately wasn’t for me.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ // 🌶️🌶️🌶️

motorcycle club romance is now my new personality. this is my second mc romance and i absolutely devoured it in two days. when i wasn’t reading it, i was thinking about it. when i was reading it, its like i was there, in the compound, drinking along with the brothers. i truly immersed myself in this story from the jump.

cesar and emory’s romance is toxic and unconventional, but that’s just the way i like em. her stubborn exterior was understandable, and i loved that she was practically putty in cesar’s hands. cesar is truly a “burn the world for my woman” kind of man, and i’ll be adding him to the book boyfriends list immediately.

i appreciated that the dystopian aspect wasn’t the primary plot line in the book, but added just enough to the story to keep it interesting.

read this book if you’re a fan of:
✽ dark romance
✽ motorcycle club romance
✽ marriage of convenience
✽ “my wife”
✽ touch her and die
✽ he face plants first

Santana does it again… and this is the first thing I’m reading from Amy, so I’m gonna need to get a solo book from her as well!

I loved that this went back in time from Santana’s Heartless Heathens and gave some backstory. Cesar and Emory were so hot! I loved this story with everything! Now I’m going to have to go back and read Reina Del Cartel! I hear that series is pretty darn good as well!

I now need anything and everything Santana Knox!!!

No Place for Devils was a truly incredible read, an amazing start to the Diablos Locos Motorcycle Club standalone interconnected series.

I absolutely loved this story and the characters, the dynamic between Cèzar and Emory was immaculate. Emory is such a strong main character even though she’s been through so much, she never gave up. She’s a truly admirable protagonist!

I devoured this story and I’m so ready for book 2!

I highly recommend reading this book!

I was a fan of César when we first met him in the Reina Del Cartel series and I was hoping for more of his story and this did not disappoint in the slightest.

Emory O’Connor needs help and she turns to the only person she can think of.. the president of the Diablos Locos Motorcycle club.. César Villalobos.

The writing in this is fantastic. I love both Santana and Amy and they do an incredible job with this. You’ll be hooked straight away and never want to finish. I knew immediately that I’d have a book hangover and nothing will be able to come close for a long while.

It really has all you need, marriage of convenience, found family, possessive MMC, age gap.
I loved the club itself and the other characters we meet there.
There was glimpses from the past, info about the cartel.
I was literally screaming out loud at parts.

Plus the spicy scenes and the mouth on César 🫠

Another outstanding book from these authors. Can’t wait for what comes next.

This is was my first MC book (why it took me so long to start one? no idea)
The story of this dark romance takes place in dystopian future. The main focus is Los Diablos Locos Motorcycle Club.
The FMC is Emory an Irish Doc with troubled past. MMC is Cesar a MC Prez who falls head over heels with her.
At the beginning of the book I found Emory bratty and annoying but as the book progressed I started to like her. Cesar oh I have no words but I need me a man like him! the "touch my wife" and die macho is what I crave.
I am really looking forward to next book!
Especially Chiqui I loved her! Such a precious character. I want to see her getting her own book.

The only thing that was kind of off was the virus outbreak..> i found it pointless and it could have been done with out it, hence the 4****

Thanks Good Girl PR, Santana and Amy for sending over the ARC.

“Sometimes, we meet that person who turns our whole world upside down. They have us feeling things we never thought we would, have us changing every plan we’ve ever made.”

OMG!!! That was one hell of a freaking way to start this amazing new series! It was packed with action, suspense, violence, emotional turmoil, smoking hot steaminess and intense twists and turns throughout. I was on the edge of my seat, biting my nails with anxiety over what was going to happen next, and gasping at some of the shocking curveballs that kept getting thrown out.

Cesar is a gritty, fierce, and unhinged leader who will do anything to protect those in his family and MC. The way we are first introduced to Cesar and Emory was crazy intense. He took one look at her and knew that no matter what she was made for him.

“An ex-cártel soldier and a doctor. A healer and a criminal. It was like a bad indie-folk song that didn’t rhyme but somehow still held a memorable tune."

Emory is a feisty, intense, smart doctor who takes no crap from anyone. But she is hiding some deep dark secrets that are slowly creeping their way out of the darkness. She needs Cesar’s help, but what she doesn’t realize is that by tying herself to the MC leader, she is also tying herself to the whole Diablos Locos Motorcycle Club. Emory’s world is about to get turned upside down.

“She was tequila, dripping all over livewire, ready to spark and burn."

I loved the back-and-forth banter between Emory and Cesar. It was filled with this intense need and desire for each other, but neither wants to give into it. It slowly built into something on the verge of exploding into an uncontrollable inferno that they wouldn’t be able to put out. It was HOT, spicy and utterly panty melting!!!

“I brought you here to kneel. To fill your mouth with my cock. To fuck you until your throat is hoarse from calling my name. To brand you as mine and no one else’s. The first time I saw you, I knew you were mine. You were made for me.”

“I’d been dreaming of this kiss for months. Every time I closed my eyes, every time I was alone with my thoughts, Emory-fucking-O’Connor was there, like the sun to my system, drawing me to the scorching heat that was her radiance."

Extremely well written with amazing characters that are damaged and totally unhinged, and with a storyline that was dark, gritty, and had a dystopian feel to it.

I loved it but it has left me craving more!

This might just be for you.

I fell hard for both Emory and Cesar, in that first chapter, and I hope that you all do as well. Both have been damaged by their pasts, but both have worked hard to not allow it to break them. We get a glimpse into what damanged them, and what each has done to try and heal in their own ways.

I really loved how much of the club was really just guys that all found each other and had worked together. Like, how they “found” Cesar, and how Cesar found the one prospect dumpster diving, and brought him into the fold. I am a sucked for found family, ever time.

I am trying to keep this short so I do not spoil anything, but fuuuuuck. Just pick this up, especially if you have kindle unlimited, and give this a read. You wont regret it.

This was an ARC read for me and first time reader of MC and these authors. This book would be a 3.5 rating for me. Overall plot, this book was a dystopian, motorcycle club with a marriage of convenience trope. Emory, the doctor, the FMC has a past intertwined in danger that is kept secret from her husband. César is the president of the Los Diablo’s club. If you know rio from good girls the show that is who was in my head the entire book for the MMC. I found it disjointed at the beginning and unclear how these two (to me random people) ended up in the marriage. There was a “illness”(Covidish) in this dystopian world that was in the book but really seemed like the book could have existed without that entire side plot it didn’t improve the book it was a neutral point. They were very much Insta lust characters and I didn’t feel much depth to them but especially the MMC. Club initiation seemed very minimal to me and not much to it so seemed like anyone could just up and join the club. The end of the book wrapped up quickly but I don’t know where the series is going. Are we following these two characters journeys or is there new people that will be introduced? Overall this story was good but I think had the potential to be great if some things flowed together more and there was more depth to the character development. I wanted to know more about them!

I received an ARC for an honest review of this book. Let me start by stating that Santana Knox and Amy Oliveira are new authors to me.

Emory is running from the demons of her past and lands at Cesar's doorstep in hopes of protection. Throughout this whole book, Emory has these walls built up that Cesar slowly starts breaking down. There is also a disease that is spreading in their town that isn't COVID but gives off those vibes... so if that's triggering to you I advise you not to read.

I liked this book but felt like it lacked some suspense. This book is very straightforward and doesn't leave you on the edge of your seat that much. Maybe I'm just more into the darker MC books? If you're looking for an easy read though this one may be good for you.

The premise and marraige of convience trope got me.. however it just overall fell flat. The sickness mentioned in here was just thrown in? And gave me covid flashbacks. I felt like I couldn't understand the "biker gang" dyanmiac and not saying it's at all like this tv show or is an accurate depiction of any. But.. I recently started 'sons of anarchy' and it reminded me some aspects of it which lead me to have a better regard of the book. Also her club initiation was minmal but I supposed it made sense?

Some events were over before it even started and I had to reread paragraphs to understand what occured. The ending was defintely rushed and was confused on what was even going on. But 5/5 for their banter.

I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my unbiased and honest review.
I did not like this book. Although I can’t really go into many particulars of why I didn’t like this book without giving away major spoilers, I will share one unrealistic scenario that happens early on. Two characters go to an old seedy motel on the side of the road that has cracked paint on the walls, where they get a random room that has a full pint bottle of Jim Beam in the mini fridge and a first aid kit that contains a prepackaged suture needle with medical thread in the bathroom. I have never stayed in a high end hotel that had those amenities (mini booze bottles sure, but not a pint of whiskey) let alone a cheap roadside motel. Then a character sutures their own face after drinking 1/3 of the whiskey and apparently doesn’t flinch whatsoever while doing so, although they winced when someone touched the gash. While I’m sure some hardened criminals have given themselves stitches to avoid hospitals, this character wasn’t one, so the whole scene came off as completely implausible and the story stayed on that path.
This book obviously wasn’t for me, but if you like improbable situations, cheesy lines during spice scenes like “It took everything in me not to blow my load inside of her downstairs” (I nearly stopped reading right then) and poorly written ‘trauma’ that exists just as a plot drive, then you might like this book. There were some decent parts and a few lines that I liked (“There was just as much fear in knowing where you came from as there was in knowing you could never go back”), but they were few and far between. Needless to say I will not be reading the rest of the series.

Thank you Santana and Amy for the opportunity to arc read this one! 🖤

“Don’t start worrying about me now, little viper, I’ll assume you’re starting to like me.”

This was my first motorcycle club book so I wasn’t sure if it’d be something that I’d enjoy. Santana is an auto-buy author and the teasers were so good, so I was excited to try it and was so pleasantly surprised!

My two favorite things about this book was the banter between Emory and Cèsar, and the rep for a multicultural couple! If I’m being honest it completely felt like conversations my husband and I would have and I saw a little of us in here.

Emory is so independent and strong but caught in a hard spot. Cèsar is the Prez, ex-cartel resident badass. What starts as a marriage of convenience quickly turns into so much more. The dynamic between these two and the he falls first (and haaard) was just 🙌🏼 Any time Cèsar said “little viper” or “my wife” I melted a little more. Emory’s character development was my favorite but I hope to see a little more of the details of Cèsar’s backstory as we go into the next book of the series (assuming it still follows them).

The found family aspect of the MC itself is so great and I loved seeing Emory immerse herself into their culture after being a bit unsure at first. My husband comes from a large Mexican family and Emory’s initial hesitancy to the newness felt so accurate to some of my own experiences. I also loved the side characters. Lupe and Chiqui felt so familiar, but everyone in the MC played a solid role to the development of this story.

Getting to see the start of the fever and little glimpse of Mama Escura made me extra excited to see what’s coming next - even though we know how that bit eventually ends (if you’ve read Heartless Heathens and met the hot as hell Escura twins - if not, RUN).

Read if you like:
-Dystopian vibes
-Motorcycle Club
-Latin American Rep
-Morally gray MMC
-Strong fmc
-Touch her and die

“If the devil came to me and said I’d finally get to have you, but only for an hour, and in exchange, my own personal hell is to wake up every day and kill the men who hurt you over and over for eternity? Little viper, there would be no question. I’d sell my soul in a heartbeat.”

Tropes:
Marriage of convenience
Motorcycle Club President
Doctor FMC
Dystopian setting
Forced proximity
Trauma/healing
He falls first
Dual POV
Latinx representation

The setting starts off as a regular motorcycle club romance, but when shit hits the fan, things get intense and dark. In the midst of all the chaos, Emory is trying not to give in to "belonging" to anyone, especially when she's trying to protect herself from getting in too deep. But of course, her husband of convenience sees through her BS and is having none of it.

I had a hard time liking Emory in the beginning and felt that César didn't deserve all her bitchiness... but she quickly learned the error of her ways. And we, as the readers, learned why she behaved the way that she did later on. But I can appreciate how their banter and tension added to the sexual build-up... cuz man, oh man... that spice 🥵

The dystopian setting wasn't fully developed because things didn't start to go south until almost halfway in. But the chaos of the illness was very real and relatable. Because this hits so close to home, please read the trigger/content warnings before starting this book.

Overall, I highly recommend this book for fans of marriage of convenience, found family, and morally grey men.

Thank you to the authors for the ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own and offered voluntarily.

Trigger/Content warnings:
Pandemic, illness details, death, mentions SAing a minor (as memory), trafficking, torture, violence, explicit sexual content, explicit language
