I don't know anything about the original Babe book or the movie, but this is a funny brief tale of a pig who can't help around the farm, until he can. Perfect for beginning readers. With charming ink line in color.

I loved Babe the movie. Wasn't really a fan of this kiddy version.

The illustrations of this are so cute! I love Babe the pig. Perfect for kids.

Babe The Sheep Pig Oops, Pig!
This was a book about a pig named Babe. The story starts out with the Duck shouting “Quack-a doodle-doo!” Babe the pig is still sleeping and wakes up to find the farmer eating pancakes, the horse eating hay, feed for the chickens and food for him. The farmer starts his chores and Babe helps collect eggs, but Babe breaks two eggs (oops!). Babe then helps milk the cow but ends up spilling the bucket (oops!) Every chore Babe tries to help he makes a mistake. So the farmer has Babe herd the sheep. In the end Babe is praised for herding the sheep.
The range of this book is for children in Preschool and kindergarten just learning to read. The words were simple and in big type, with a repetition. The pictures relate to what the words are saying. For example “Time for breakfast! Pancakes for the farmer.” The picture shows a farmer eating pancakes. When Babe made a mistake it was typed “oops!”
The pictures in the book were hand drawn painted in bright colors. The pictures were very realistic. You could see the detail in the pictures like when Babe broke the egg, it look real. The animals and there habit were portrayed to be within character. The picture filled each page.
I would recommend Babe The Sheep Pig Oops, Pig! This book had colorful pictures and easy words to follow when teaching a young child to read. You could also use the book about making mistakes. The pictures were creative in display.
