"Highly recommended reading." Midwest Book Review

"A tense and well-plotted continuation of the Rothston Series." The Kirkus Review

The Rothston Institute has fallen to those who are after the key to controlling humanity - a secret held deep within Kinzie Nicolosi's own body. Scared and on the run, Kinzie's life becomes entangled with a collection of loners, adding the wrath of their own foes to the dangers she faces. Outmanned and outgunned on all sides, none of them can protect Kinzie or the world from the true evil behind the threats - something far more terrifying than anything they have encountered.

And it is waiting...

The saga of Kinzie Nicolosi continues in Choices, the second book in the Rothston series. Author Terri-Lynne Smiles once again convincingly explains world events through the interference of adepts who are able to control the decisions and actions of others.

"Again Ms. Smiles demonstrates a native talent for imaginative storytelling that her readers will find unfailingly enjoyable and engaging from beginning to end." Midwest Book Review

Having read Choices, and the preceding book, at the time of the UK referendum on membership of the European Union, it is easy to believe the fictional premise of these books. The idea being that there are some individuals who can 'see' into the quantum world and can influence events, including the actions of people. As with all such powers, real or illusory, they have the potential to be used for good or evil, the greater good or self interest. I will not describe the story further for fear of spoiling it, but would recommend you read it to understand these comments.

Alternating perspectives make characters come alive

this is the second Rothston book and I liked it even better than the first. At first, it was a bit distracting to have each chapter read from a different character's perspective, but once I caught the rhythm of the story, it gave me a much fuller sense of who the person was, what their thoughts and internal conflicts were. looking forward to the next book.

If you like Foreseen, you will LOVE Choices. Choices is even faster paced, with the main characters, Kinzie and Greg, scrambling across the globe to escape their pursuers from The Rothston Institute. Even the most talented adept would not be able to predict the twists and turns in this book...or the surprisingly realistic theories of how adepts are controlling much more than we know (I set the book down several times thinking "Wow, that explanation for [world event] actually makes a lot of sense"). I can't wait for Origins to see how Kinzie and Greg unravel the intricate web that has been spun.

This is book two in the Rothston series and I read it in less than a day. I started it on Saturday night and read it for most of the day on Sunday. This time, the book switches back and forth from the perspectives of Kinzie and Greg as they're chased across the world, running from the Rothston people who would make Kinzie into a science experiment. Even though we had both of their points of view, it seemed like we got more into Greg's head than hers. Kinzie is gaining more and more power all the time, so it will be interesting to see what becomes of her and how she handles this responsibility in the third book.

Good Thriller

I don't know how the author kept all the plot details straight after she created so many pitfalls for the main characters to get through. Everything was wrapped up by the end, though. I really identified with each character because they were created with well rounded personalities. This series is a good choice for fantasy teen and adult readers.
