Sweet and sexy, Blissful will melt your heart!

Unlucky is my middle name. My life as a singer-songwriter in a band I started with my best friend isn't getting anywhere. I'm curvy and being thin is apparently important for a musical career. When my high school sweetheart and I get married, I find him kissing my best friend. Of course I didn't put up with it.
Broken and depressed, I run away from everything I know, but even my car breaks down. Like I said ... luck is not on my side.

Until I meet Jack ...

Maintaining a ranch isn't easy. I've got more work than time. Spare time is a luxury I can't afford and won't give into. When I spend one moment alone with my thoughts, I'm done for. Alcohol becomes my friend, because I can't bear to feel the misery inside my heart.
I hate who I've become. Sorrow eats me up, but I won't let anyone see. I need to keep on living, keep on fighting, and do everything on my own. For her, my little angel. She's all I have left.

Until I meet Amy ...

Lost in misery, love is our salvation

2ish can't say I reached bliss stars.

Imma let you finish but first I wanna say, this book cover is one of the most unmatchy book covers ever.
kanye photo: Kanye Sorry 40692897.gif

Main character Amy has low self esteem and poor body image. No thanks to her ex-boyfriend/fiancé. (Who is a cheating bastard and should be hung by his toes off a bridge.) She says she's fat, got curves...blah blah blah. (Lady on the cover is a skinny Minnie.) But cover aside, there wasn't a whole lot of depth to Amy. Sure she got shit on by a bad relationship but is that what really defines someone? I get it, she hates her probably skinny body and her sense of humor is whacked but damn it, I needed more from her!
give me more photo: give me more give-me-mar.gif

Maybe that's why she felt a connection to Jack.
A good ol' country boy. A cowboy with a kid. A single father trying get over a huge loss. (Who doesn't look like the hippy on the cover.) Maybe Amy finds who she really is when she's with Jack and in return he learns to love again.

Maybe I'm just trying to over think this fluff?
Either way, it wasn't terrible but it wasn't great IMO.

Would I recommend the book? No. Sometimes it's better to remain blissfully unaware.

I hate it when stories are released in volumes. I favour full-length novels, being able to read the entire thing in one sitting. Despite this, I continue to download stories that are released in volumes and episodes. I don’t know why I do it – beyond the fact I’m more than a little bit masochistic when it comes to my reading habits, that is – but I continue to do such a thing.

With this one, however, I was surprised by how much actually happened. It’s only a third of the full story, but it does set up a lot for what more is to come in the future. Quite often, when books are released in volumes, the first can give us so little whilst giving us nothing at all. It is a strange paradox, one that occurs far too often, yet this one does not fall victim to such a thing.

It does, however, fall victim to some other cringe worthy factors.

There are so many stereotypes throughout. We have the typical fat girl views. We have the typical emotional turmoil. We have the typical secrets. We have the typical dark and murky past. There are other stereotypes, but you get the message. These things all roll together to make the book very… well, typical.

It was enjoyable, and offered a great start to the series, yet it wasn’t something that really stood out.

Whilst I’m interested to see where things go, I’m not going to go out of my way to find out more. If all three volumes had been released in one, instead of in parts, I would have happily continued all the way through. This start would have convinced me to finish until the end. However, I’m already looking at other reads.

Fun for a freebie, but I really need to learn to ignore the call of volume stories.

This was a good but heartwarming romance that is very heartfelt and emotional—yet sexy and intense. Blissful is the first book of this trilogy series. This is the first time I read a book by this author, Clarissa Wild, and I must say, it was awesome. I enjoyed the characters of Jack and Amy. Amy is running away from her previous life since she saw her fiancée and best friend embracing fervently of all places—her wedding. Leaving everything behind, Amy drives and drives until her car breaks down—in the middle of nowhere. Jack is not looking for romance since he is still getting over the death of his wife. Jack is handsome and maintains a ranch with his daughter, he sees Amy broken down on the road, stops to see if he can help. Upon meeting Amy, Jack finds himself quite attracted to Amy and the feeling is mutual with some sizzling chemistry. The sex is off the chart hot!! The scenes are well written, fast-paced and flow smoothly from one scene to the next. The book will pique your interest and draw you in from the beginning to the very end.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Blissful is book 1 in a group of Serials written by Clarissa Wild. This book is more of an introduction to the characters and their pasts. It sets up the story and really pulls you in right at the end wanting to know what is going to happen!

These books are about Amy and Jack. Amy was supposed to get married to Ronnie, who she has dated for 8 years. On their WEDDING DAY she finds Ronnie and her best friend Nicole getting all hot and heavy with each other. She breaks it off (thank god!!!) and decides to pack a bag and just get away. However her getaway is spoiled when he car breaks down. Enter the Good Samaritan Jack, he comes to Amy's rescue and offers to help fix her car and let her stay in his spare room while he does. I really liked both characters. I especially enjoyed their inner monologues. When Jack is trying to "not" fantasize about Amy it is pretty hilarious. However, Jack has some issues of his own that we don't find out in this book and I can't wait to learn about his past. Both Jack and Amy are fighting their attractions to each throughout the story and are afraid because of their pasts. Will they finally give into each other and give love a chance??? You'll have to wait and see!

I can't wait to read the next installment and find out where Amy and Jacks story will lead. This was a fun and quick read that I really enjoyed and think that the future installments are only going to get better.

A beautiful beginning.

On her wedding day Amy is betrayed by the only people she has in the world when she catches her best friend and fiance in a passionate embrace. Determined to leave the past hurts behind and start her life over by reaching for her dreams, Amy hits the road with everything she owns pack in the back of her beat up car.

All Jack needs to survive is the love of his daughter, Madeline, but surviving and being happy are two very different things. Tormented by the death of Maddy's mother, he is terrified to love again.

When Jack finds Amy stranded by the side of the road, the sexual attraction he feels for her is intense. All he wants to do is fix her car and send the curvaceous singer on her way, but the time he spends in her company reveals the beauty inside her heart. Will he be able to let go of the pain of the past and reach for love again? Amy feels a strange sense of peace in Jack's arms, but staying on his ranch means letting go of her music career, and she has sworn to never sacrifice her dreams for another man.

A tantalizing and emotionally intense beginning this series, Blissful is well written and edited, a true pleasure to read. Follow Jack and Amy as the battle the demons of the past as well as their own damaged hearts. Their journey is one you won't want to miss!

This review is on my blog: http://bookchick2013.blogspot.com/201...

A cute, short, simple read about broken hearts and falling in love.

Blissful was heartbreaking to read. The main characters of the book, Amy and Jack, both had serious problems of there own. Amy, even if she wasn't very fat, always thought of herself as fat. This is because her ex-boyfriend/fiance always said to her about how fat she was. Why was she with him again? I don't know. On Amy's wedding day, she comes into a room and sees her fiance kissing another girl. Oh and this girl was her best friend. Imagine how horrible that'd be? I mean, the story shows her misfortune and it makes me sad for her very much.

Jack has problems to, but we don't see the entire story. I know this book is three parts, but the book was uncompleted it feels. However, aside from the unfinished feeling of Jack's part, I am excited to read the next one. I want to see where this is going to go and what's going to happen.

I recommend this book to readers who like sweet, sexy romance, but not to heavy.

It's your wedding day. You are wearing your dress, the chapel is full, you go to open a door... what do you find inside? Yep! The jerk you were about to marry is kissing your best friend and his hands are on her buttocks.

This is Amy's worst moment. Here is the man she has been with for years and he is such a jerk on their wedding day? All she wants to do is run away and be by herself.

Miles from home with car trouble in the middle of nowhere, Amy is despairing. As she sits in her car and cries, Jack walks into her life. Well, he actually drives up in his truck and offers to help her. So it begins... a chance encounter, a gentle damaged man, a damsel in distress and a love affair to grip your heart.

This story is mostly about moving on with life after a traumatic experience. Sometimes it is so hard it takes another traumatic event to spring you from the grip of depression. Sometimes it only takes some car trouble in the middle of nowhere and a gentle man offering you his protection and care.

This was a lovely story. So much chemistry the pages sizzle!

Amy sees her fiancé, the man she's been with for 8 years since she was 15, kissing another woman on their wedding day. Ooh and did I mention its her best friend. Hurt and betrayed Amy leaves and starts driving. Days later in the middle of nowhere her car breaks down and sexy rancher Jack offers to help her fix her car. It doesn't take long but the attraction is intense, but Jack has demons he's dealing with and his 3 year old daughter has to be his priority. So why can't he get Amy outta his head?

Great introduction into this new mini series. Loved Maddy she was such a cutie and helped keep the story from getting to intense. Right now these characters are a bit broken can't wait to see how this story develops.

I fell in love with this book instantly. Amy has very bad luck the poor girl just can't catch a break. She is about to marry a guy she has been with for 8 years only to walk in on him kissing her best friend. That has to be the worse thing ever. Amy then goes on this trip to get away from it all and her freaking car breaks down. Yes I know what you all are saying no ones luck can be that bad but yes it can be.She looses it in her car and then is rescued by the handsome Jack. They are drawn together right away.
Jack has a long history of heart break him self and is fighting his own demons. Will there undeniable love be enough to with stand the storms of the past? I really can not wait to read part 2!!!

Congratulations Clarissa you have me addicted again to your books!!

I feel in love with the characters immediately, you could feel the heartache in every word that was written about betrayal, if you see your fiancé for 8 years kissing with your best friend on your wedding day.

The only solution that Amy has is to leave asap and start a new episode in her life, if that is not enough her car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, but her back luck is going to change.
Meet Jack a hot, sexy, gorgeous rancher who will come to the rescue of Amy. But he also has his own secrets and problems, but one thing is clear for him he is not ready to fall in love again.

Both people lost in their lives; do they have a chance to succeed in love?

This is the first time I have read anything by this author but will not be the last time.

As I turned the first few pages of this story, the drama starts. Amy is a plus sized woman who has dated her beau for eight years and they are now at the point of their wedding day, moments before she is to walk down the aisle, the unthinkable happens.

Feeling hurt, fat, lost and depressed, Amy packs up everything and leaves town only to hit another obstacle. She meets a rancher who has his own issues to work through. Can this city girl catch a break?! Will Amy be able to move past her hurt and pain to surrender to love again?

Great plot and character development and I can not wait to read part 2. This short story packs a punch!

I cannot wait for the next volume of this book to come out! I have already fallen in love with Amy and Jack as main characters, and Maddy too. A girl, Amy, gets into a horrible situation where her fiancée cheats on her with her best friend, and she finds herself stuck in her car and had an engine issue. But Jack is there to help. He helps her out, and takes her home to take car of her vehicle, and sparks fly. I won’t say anything else because it will spoil the book.

This author writes beautifully and I really got wrapped up and both Amy and Jack’s feelings throughout the reading of this. I could not put it down, and it was just too short! I wanted more and more! Please give this a chance, and look for the next volume to come out soon! Happy Reading!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Blissful was a great book. I liked that the story was told in first person. I felt that I was able to connect with the characters on a personal level as I was a part of their thoughts. This was a very emotional story and the emotions were shown through the characters.

There was a semi cliffhanger at the end of the book, but the author knew how to pull you in just enough to leave you wanting more. When I say semi I mean you know what happens but you really need to read the rest of the books to see where the story is going. I for one cannot wait to read the next 2 parts of this series.

The author, Clarissa, did a fantastic job. I am looking forward to reading more of her novels.

Amy runs away from church in her wedding day, because she sees her future husband kissing her best friend. He has been her only boyfriend since they were teenagers, and he has never been that good, but this is the last drop.

Heart-broken, she takes her car and just drives, leaving everything behind. Her car breaks in the middle of nowhere and a hunk comes to the rescue.

This book is the first one of a series, but it does have some closure.

It is a heartwarming romance between people having second chances, but with a lot of baggage to deal with.

It is fairly short and well written. Not too original so far, but cute anyway.

I not really sure how I feel about this book.

I think the plot is good, as a big girl a really like reading about other big girls...

BUT I don't like that she only feels good about herself when he compliments her. I would have liked it more if she realized her own worth by herself, maybe in the continuing story she will.... right now I'm not sure I'll find out.... maybe maybe not!!!!

AND the cover is bugging me.... she's not big.... not even a little.....

WITH all this said, the story is sweet, falling in love and believing that we all deserves real love and second chances. Maddy I just adored her, such a lovely girl..

I'm not a fan of romance novels. They are too far fetched but that's just my opinion. But I know many women love them. Although I am not a fan, I think that this book would be loved by those women. The plot is great. Every woman's dream of a handsome muscular cowboy. Add raising a little girl on his own, ROMEO! So, if you like those romance novels, this short story is one you want to add to your TBR.

Amy is a fat (her own words....she has self esteem issues) musical bride-to-be when she catches her intended of 8 years with her best friend on her wedding day. She runs out on her own wedding, her apartment, and town to find some serious car trouble and a hot friendly rancher on her journey to nowhere. There is also a plot moppet. Just a short story at only 75 pages and it was worth what I paid for it (free Kindle download).

Eh...

So this book starts with a runaway bride and a angst driven rancher with a pay it forward attitude. Can they let go of their past well it takes a whole book for them to even start doing so. It was a good story and while it started good and ended good it seemed really slow in the middle.

This story had some serious editing problems which put me off of it. I came back to it a few days later because I hate leaving a story unfinished. These stars are for the idea of the story alone which was great. It just wasn't executed very well.

Short, sexy, but a bit unbelievable for me. Who catches her best friend kissing her bridegroom on her wedding day, runs off, finds a gorgeous man and hooks up with him, falling madly in love? I just couldn't quite buy it.
