Being a demon isn't always fun. Being a demon summoned to a satanic ritual is downright miserable. Isaac Braden spends most of his time being a rich recluse but every so often he's introduced to someone new when he's summoned… a blood sacrifice. This is a fairly rare breed of story: demons are usually not funny, but large parts of this story are. Yes, there is a gruesome ritual, and a really bad guy, but the story is written with lots of humor. Some of the antics and inner thoughts of both main characters, one demon and one human, made me laugh. The serious undertone is all about "free will" for demons. The stance Stormy Glenn takes here is that being born a demon is no different from being born a human, or a shifter, or anyone else. It is just genes. Does it mean you have to like it? Her answer is a resounding "no". Playing with that idea and all its consequences made this a great story for me.
Jory is the human part of this couple, but he is not just any human. First he ends up in a satanic ritual, then he gets bonded with the demon, only to find out their relationship is neither as easy nor as straightforward as he expected. I attributed that to the fact he isn't exactly your average human, and Isaac is certainly not what I imagine a "normal" demon to be like. Jory is a great character who keeps Isaac, the demon, slightly unbalanced. The surprising twist about who Jory is was as delightful as the bantering between the two main characters.

Imagine his shock when Jory is different – and different enough to completely throw Jory off his game. Suddenly Isaac has all these feelings he doesn't know what to do with, and even though he wants to submit, he doesn’t think he can do it without being forced. Not something Jory is willing to give, and therein lies the dilemma.
If you like stories about unusual pairings between a demon who thinks he knows it all, and a human who believes in free will, if you enjoy watching two men battle for a deeper understanding of each other, and if you're looking for a very hot, mostly funny, and intense story with more than a touch of the supernatural, then you will probably enjoy this novella.

This book was so poorly written you wouldn't know that it had been increased in length and re-edited in 2016. There was too much off page action. There were even some missing events. It made the story line very choppy and created logic errors.
Personally, I did not care for Jory. He was egotistical, dominating, and not forthcoming. Isaac was submissive to Jory and I hated that Jory didn't respect and honor his submission - Jory calling Isaac "pretty" wasn't enough. There was no relationship development. There was a ridiculous communication misunderstanding that was resolved. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough bonding to balance out the negative impact. The story concentrated on action. It ended with a weak HFN.
One event that was off page was Jory and Isaac's wedding ceremony. It was disappointing that the author chose not to create more depth to their relationship.

And Jory’s grandmother – a powerful witch and true matriarch – is as hilarious as ever.

Interesting twist on a demon story. I especially like the extra surprise Jory has for Isaac. Not quibble free, but cute and fun.

This jumped around a bit too much for me to really settle in and enjoy it. I've read quite a bit of Stormy Glenn's books and I like the crack-factor of the characters and crazy storylines and with Jordan being a satanic ritual blood sacrifice for a demon this had all the makings of what I expect from the author. Unfortunately, it's really more detail light and the MC's have an unfortunate misunderstanding that coloured their interactions for most of the read.
There was a fun twist that I didn't see coming at the end but for the most part this didn't really work for me.

I read this a while ago. I remember enjoying it but forgot some of the details. In skimming I now remember what made me nuts. The whole "big misunderstanding" which seemed to be a language or semantics thing. But I do like stories where the demon has a bit of a different backstory and the banter between the two was good when they weren't jumping to conclusions about what the other meant/intended.

LOL! Cute with Samhain cookie level sweetness and fluff. Like seriously. Blink if you miss it angst. Okay not including the way the come together-there's one tiny obstacle, one decent but not intense fight, and the rest is fluff and adoration. This was a cute, fluffy read.

Demons, witches and other creatures of the night. We love them, love reading about them from the safety of our couch, sipping perhaps a bit of wine, blood-red just so we can get more into the spirit. I admit it. Demons are one of them disturbingly perverted, guilty pleasures for me. I love them. I do not love them timid though and damn if this one demon, Isaac wasn’t tame like a pussy cat...

Kind of a cute story. Issac is a pretty funny demon. However the typos kept throwing me right out of the story.
