Her mother killed her. But that didn’t stop her. The doctor and his wife loved her. But that didn’t stop her. The authorities attacked her. But that didn’t stop her. The Living Dead Girl would not—could not—be stopped. Not until all the world had heard the message that even she didn’t know she had been sent to deliver. Not until all the world had been made to pay. Not until all the world knew what became of her.

I hesitate to call this a zombie story though I guess technically it is one. Most of the time the adults are the ones acting more monstrous than the "living dead girl". Artemis is certainly unique and I found myself rather caught up in her story. I recommend this to horror lovers just don't expect a brain-munching zombie tale.
Very unique Zombie story ... Or should I say Anti-Zombie story . A very very different take on the Zombie genre . I really enjoyed this book and just couldn't put it down . I highly recommend this even if you are not into the whole Zombie takeover in literature .
Talk about a freaky story! Great page turner. Hated to see it end, and hope to find a sequel one day to see what happens to the new generation of special children.
It starts out pretty good with a low life mother not wanting her baby and years later a girl is discovered by the water. I got interested in this story pretty quickly, stayed with it until the end because I couldn't put it down, but really didn't care for how it ended.
