I am a story teller, a life coach, and sometimes a little crazy. I’m at an amazing time in my life where doors are opening, adventures are happening, and new friends are being made. Life is fun and I want to share that joy with the world. I’m Jettie and I am unapolgetically me.

What's with all the high ratings? Did I read a different book? This story is messed up on so many levels. Did she seriously fall in love with a guy who raped her, faked pictures of her being an unfit parent, forced her to live with him by blackmail with said pictures, trick her into signing over custody, and to top it all off made her out to be mentally unstable to her family, friends, and even her coworkers? I finished this expecting there to be some redemption, but in the end she simply forgets everything he has done. Even her father thought this was crazy, yet she still goes off into the sunset with him. What the fuck?!

This is a story of lies, secrets and regrets. Whitley Bradshaw lived on her fathers resort where she herself was raised. She was content in her life with her bratty little girl and small cabin by the river. She never wanted anything more. She could take her little secret to her grave, happy with the choices that she had made, choices that she never dreamed would come back to haunt her later, choices that could cost her more than she was willing to give up. Please add me to your Goodreads, and of course I wrote this book, so don't let the cover fool you. Adult content, sex, drugs, and language suited for mature audiences only.

Finally!! Thank you for getting me out of my book funk and giving me a 5 star book!!

This book will play on your emotions, fuck with your head and pull on your heart strings, to say I was all over the place reading this is an understatement!! And that there is why this book gets my 5 stars!!

Sitting there and reading this it felt like all my emotions had been put through the wringer and spat out, times where I was fed up with Whitley and just wanted to shake her, then we have the pleasure of meeting Alex Wesson or not so much pleasure at the beginning and this here is what became my mind fuck!!

What he did to her was despicable, (won't say the names I called him, but you get my drift) then the controlling games he played made my blood boil, and this is where my mind fuckery came into play because towards the end without me realizing it I started liking the bugga!!

So all I can say to everyone keep an open mind whilst reading this!!

I want to say so much more but will wait until we're closure to release date and I will add to my review as I don't want to give too much away..

I just hope you love this book as much as I did!!

Whew what a crazy ride this story was. Thanks to my good friend Debbie for introducing me to this wildly unpredictable story. Once I started this one, I could not put it down despite all the turbulence in this story.

At times I wanted to throttle Whitley, but I also understood how what happened to her in the past could mess her up and make her act the way she did. After reading a slew of doormat stories, Whitley was a breath of fresh air, absolutely refusing to take any of Alex's shit. There were times through this story though, that had me wanting to pop Whitney up the side of her head. She was so frustrating. And my hat is off to this author. It's a gift for an author to be able to make me fall in love with a hero I was truly surprised how this story was able to come together for a complete HEA ending, that had me smiling for this difficult couple.

This definitely isn't a story for the easily triggered.

Very difficult read - but I couldn't stop or DNF. While I was not engaged with the characters, I couldn't look away. This book is not for everyone. Triggers abound.

There is quite a bit of WTF, very controlling H, immaturity, what seems like brainwashing leading to Stepford wife/girlfriend (the H controlling behavior), whiplash from character changes, blackmail, deception, cheating, drinking, etc.

I highlighted 2 notes from the book that I made visible, if you need a quick summary.

If you read, make sure your book/device is protected in case you throw against the wall. This book is not terrible - just different. It is not a classic or something that will change your soul, or profoundly affect your emotions. Just a soapy trainwreck that compels you to watch until the end. 3 stars.

REVIEW: Jettie Woodruff's All for Maddie is a compelling yet difficult read

I'll be quite honest with you and say this was one of the most difficult books I've read in a long time. Usually I'm drawn in by the characters, I tend to choose books where I'll at least like, if not love, the main characters - and perhaps consider them almost like friends if it's a good series. I can't say that I liked either of the main protagonists of All for Maddie by Jettie Woodruff. Neither Whitley nor Alex were people I really wanted to know - or even get to know.

Yes, Whitley has a tough life. She's a single mom, working for her father at his resort, and raising her almost four-year-old daughter alone though with support from her dad and step-mom. It's quite clear from the introduction that the Maddie's conception was rough, if not rape, and that Whitley at the time was practically a child herself at just seventeen. So I decided to cut her some slack and keep reading, even though my first inclination was to close the pages and skip the book.

Alex is introduced as someone from Whitley's past - and it's soon clear he's Maddie's father and that she's born from essentially almost-a-date rape, really more like party-hook-up rape, But whatever the circumstances no means no. And having been in the shoes of a slightly inebriated and innocent 18-year-old my first semester at college and almost getting forced into something I didn't want, my sympathy was with Whitley. But her present demeanor, her now drunken sexual promiscuity, and her selfishness - even though the author's intent seems to be "everything for Maddie" - soon burnt through the sympathy I felt for her.

Alex now seems like the upstanding citizen, but once he realizes Maddie's his daughter he becomes controlling. Not so different from that young man who drugged a girl's drink at a party. When he has sex with a red-haired someone at their shared home, I found myself wanting to close the book and not reopen it. Even though they're not sleeping together - he's still trying to get it on with Whitley, he brings someone else home to his bed for her to walk in on. I just went ick. And she had already done the same to him on a trip home to see her dad with one of the kitchen workers - with Alex walking in on that. Nice folks. Not.

So, why did I keep reading. I'm not really sure except Woodruff is a really good writer. I'm not going into more detail nor will I reveal if there is a HEA for these dysfunctional souls, but I wanted to give you all fair warning that this is a very difficult book. Do I feel like I gained anything in the two hours it took me to read through it? Perhaps. Am I still pondering why Woodruff would choose to write this story? Absolutely. Would I recommend you read it? No, probably not.

I do know that it's not just Alex and Whitley who are dysfunctional in this picture, but Alex's married sister Reagan, who is Whitley's partner in drunken binges at the biker bar (the bikers in this story come off the best of any of the characters). Reagan's husband who spends more time checking out Whitley's ass than any other interaction through the entire novel. And the namesake of the title, Maddie, who, I'm guessing, is going to be one spoiled rotten, uncontrollable child in a few years. Sure she comes off cute, but cute wears off and there doesn't seem to be much more than a manipulative character behind her actions, I'm sorry to report.

I know that my review will probably be harsher than most, but I'm being honest and expressing my personal opinion about the story. If I were to review this on the basis of writing style, it would be quite good. Woodruff kept my attention even though at times I wished she hadn't - and kept me turning the pages too.

So to balance a dysfunctional and unpleasant sort-of "love" story there is solid writing and for that I'm awarding one star to All for Maddie by Jettie Woodruff.

This book doesn't work for me. I think the problem is the author wanted the hero, Alex to be an Alpha male type but he's controlling and cruel and crosses the line way too many times.
In other books by other authors who have written successful Alpha men, the men are controlling and bossy and they do make decisions for 'their woman' and they are even mad at them at times but it never physically harms them or sometimes its something that's to protect them.
If you can get past the rape, mental insanity treatment, then the other big no is after really being together, spending real time as a family, another woman kisses him and he kisses her back, nothing else happens but the heroine witnesses it, he gets angry when she calls him out on it. A true man would not have gone there, not at this point in their relationship.
He does eventually redeem himself after a pity party and 3 months of punishing his 4 year old daughter by cutting himself out of her life completely, because he's not worthy and made so many mistakes.
It is hard to understand why she took him back and wanted anything to do with him.

5 stars all day long!

Jettie Woodruff is my new favorite author.

I have read 3 books now by Jettie and all 3 have been amazing and amazingly different. Her books are dark, but not in (my) traditional sense of the word. They can almost be classified as books with ethical or moral dilemmas and just when you think the answer to the question: what should she do? Is a simple one, something else happens that slaps u in the face and makes u realize there's waaaaay more to the story and there's no possibility of coming up with a solution unless u are living it (God forbid).

Basic story: Whitley is raped by a boy at a party. She gets preggo. Tells no one she was raped. Said boy comes back into her life and they battle for custody of their little girl, Maddie.

Sounds simple, right? No so much! This story left me all kinds of fucked up. I was screaming at the kindle. I was screaming at the characters. Screaming FOR the characters. I loathe Alex the rapist. I love Alex the father. I loathe Alex the conniver. I love Alex the lover. GAH! What a roller coaster.

I challenge anyone to read ALL FOR MADDIE and walk away without feeling conflicted. I honestly don't think it's possible.

Jettie is a masterful storyteller. She weaves a truly wicked story. Her characters are perfectly crafted - set up with the intention of forcing the reader to constantly vacillate between loving and hating and wanting to knock the fuck out of them.

If you love stories that stay with you long after you have read the final page, then you must check out author, Jettie Woodruff’s work. Her books are emotional, exciting and they always leave me feeling conflicted. I love them and I hope you will too!

All for Maddie managed to hold my attention but simply fell flat on delivery. It was more melodrama than the intensely dark angsty read I was expecting. The interesting premise was lost under the story's lack of depth, mediocre writing, and bad editing. With an annoying heroine who was drunk more than she wasn't and an antihero who was more of a mild mannered manipulator, the saving grace for me was 4 year old Maddie. She was sweet, funny, and absolutely adorable - when she wasn't throwing a tantrum. She was the most realistic child in any book I've ever read and the only memorable character in this muddled mess.

This is by far the worst book i have read in a very long time. Where are all the 5-star ratings coming from??!! I imagine the author has given a lot of free ARC copies for good reviews.. because nothing saves this book and I cannot believe that any thinking woman out there would marry and believe that she and her DAUGHTER would be safe in the hands of a RAPIST!

RAPE is not ROMANTIC Ms Woodruff.
ABUSE is not ROMANTIC Ms Woodruff.

I don't and will never understand an author finding it in her to make a rapist a romantic Hero. He RAPED HER!! You INSULT the men out there who are not abusive RAPISTS and quite frankly insult women out there who have been victims of abuse.

This book basically gives the message that date-rape is okay and that Mr Rapist don't worry if you don't succeed in traumatizing your victim enough the first time - the author shall conjure up a situation whereby you are married to your VICTIM where you can continue to abuse her throughout her poor life.

On top of this both the RAPIST (I refuse to name this thing a H) and the h - cheat throughout the book and the RAPIST is continually abusive. He manipulates and ruins her life for his own ends - yep a real hero. He KNOWS what he is doing - but still we are meant to believe this man is a HERO.

She's a drunk that should have child services on her doorstep and be put into counseling to recover from the RAPE!

The author insults us further, by not even pretending that this RAPIST is not abusive.

To top it off - the writing is average and the research deplorable. Quite frankly - I wouldn't touch a book by this author ever again. - garbage..

I suggest anyone who wants to read a romance or even believes that RAPE is wrong steer clear. If you love train-wrecks and unbelievable HEA's please do read.

I'm so happy I got to read an ARC bc I don't think I could have waited another day!

To paraphrase Britney Spears: Oops...Jettie did it again, she played with my heart...

SERIOUSLY?!?!?! SERIOUSLY?!?!? SO GOOD! SOOO GOOD!!!
Ok, so if you can't tell, I really, really liked this book.

Twisted goodness? YES! Hot? that's like asking if you need air. Hate and love at the same time? For sure! Clearly making my flustered and rambling? DUH!

ok, i'm going to try to be coherent. Whitley (awesome name btw) is raped :( but, she gets Maddie as a result and she loves her to death. But, then Alex comes back in the pic. And then the roller coaster starts. We hate him, we hate him some more, oh snap, we hate him even more, and then, bam, we love him. We root for him, we root for them. We want them together. And then we may sort of hate him again. And then we may sort of hate her. And then we may sort of want to rip our hair out bc they need to get their shit together and stop making me yell at a book like i'm insane. And then we may sort of love them both again (maybe at different times). But, there is obviously lots of love and hate; there is passion and lust; manipulation and deception; threats and controlling personalities; there is a super duper adorable little girl; there are good friendships, messed up relationships. Pretty much everything awesome!

That wasn't that much more coherent. But, that was an emotional ride and I'm not sure I want off. I'm guessing it's a good thing when you finish a book and wish you hadn't finished yet so there could be more.

yep, that was good!

This book was picked for me to read in a challenge. Whitley Bradshaw, will do anything to keep her daughter. Whitley Bradshaw was raped when she was 17 by Alex Wesson at a party ( that she wasn't suppose to be at) at his house he slipped something in her drink and she was stupid for not telling anyone about being raped or getting pregnant it was not something that she wanted and she hid it from her family and friends about the father. Fast forward three years later Whitney is in town for her friends wedding and who does she run into Alex he tries to say he is sorry, but she is not having it. Alex and his girlfriend go to the resort where Whitley works for her father and who does he see Maddie the three year old daughter that he didn't know that he had. This was a really good book that I stayed up all night reading and even when I managed to get some sleep I woke up a few hours later because I had to continue this book. Alex is angry because she didn't tell him about Maddie and makes her life hell and he tries to take his daughter away from her. Alex is an alpha male that likes control and he uses manipulation to get what he wants from Whitley. I wanted her to stand up to him he made her look crazy to all her friends and family and she used alcohol and sex to numb herself to him. The sex scenes in the book were good with Whitley and Alex although I think that they were better with her friend Jaron. The author also did a really good job with the daughter I have a three year old and Maddie talks just like her I thought that was cute. I think that Alex really did feel bad about raping Whitley, but he knew that if he didn't force her to be with him she would have never let him be a part of her daughters life. I did wish the book was darker and in the beginning I didn't really think it was dark at all until I thought about all the things that Alex did to her and how easy Whitley was manipulated I mean who signs legal documents without reading it. I really didn't want to start liking Alex, but I just couldn't not like him yes he did what he did being young and stupid in college and (I am not saying rape is ok it's not). But I think when he got cancer and knew he would not be able to have kids he felt it was what he deserved and maybe he did. I really liked reading this book it was well written although I did find one error. I loved reading this book.

I had the honour of reading this book before its release. Jettie Woodruff kindly gave it to me to read and review honestly.

After reading the blurb on this book I so was looking forward to read it. I've not read a book by this author before and I love discovering new authors out there with a story to tell.

This is about a young girl who got raped, she had a child and called her Maddie, they both lived in a small rural place where she worked for her Father, and also worked part time in a cafe. Having has Maddie young, she was still young enough to go out and have fun. The awful experience stayed with her and of course it affected her.

Then.....HE shows up, the Father of Maddie.

Who would have expected such a tense, real and exposing story such as this. I got it from every angle of the situation. I hated the Father of Maddie right at the start, but towards the end, I was finding myself feeling sorry for him! why! Little Maddie had people tied around her little finger, and she was certainly tied around mine. Maddie is everyone Mother's little girl. I loved her.

I was hooked to this book from start to finish. I must tell the author, thank God for my slow cooker so that my family has food on the table when I get engrossed in a book! This just was such a fantastic read.

I want to read more of this authors books.

The author writes well, fluently and gets right into the corners of peoples minds and thoughts, it was wonderful. Loved it and can't recommend it enough.

I'm raving good things about this book, it will be available soon.

I must say as a mother of two young children I REALLY relate to this story. I normally avoid stories with children because I feel like SO many stories don't portray children like they REALLY are. I have a 3 year old and Maddie, for the most part, is three during this story so her actions and reactions I completely understood. Not to mention the whole I WHOLEHEARTEDLY love my child and would give my last breath for them, but I also need a breather from them feeling that we get a few times in this story.

This is so many twists and turns and unexpected surprises in this story that I have to admit it is a bit hard to write a review for this book. I just have to say that it's extremely well written. It's a longer novel but I really didn't feel like it was when I was reading it. It wasn't drawn out with unnecessary details or scenes. There was only one point in this book that made me think WTF, that's not how a normal person should react.. However, I'm a bit odd myself so it could just be how I see it.. and since I found absolutely EVERYTHING else to be ABSOLUTELY wonderful if not a bit of a mind f*ck about this book, I would still give it 4 stars.

It's real, it's rough, it's sexy... is just up there with the best books that I've EVER read.. and I've read a LOT of books.

WARNING: SPOILER ALERT

I think I must be missing something from reading other people's reviews. I completely disagree with most of the reviews.

Essentially this book has the harrowing story line of a young girl, raped at a party who goes on to become pregnant by the rape.
When the man realises he has a daughter he sets legal proceedings in place for full access to the child. There is no way he would get full custody of the child, and what mother would drop off their THREE year old at a strange mans house (a rapist no less) and plan to leave her there for 2 nights.
Then he twists things so everyone except 1 person thinks the mother has gone mad, and she is force fed drugs.
Then he lies and makes her think she stripped off in front of a group of men and tried to have sex with them all.

Various other things happen and in the end.......she falls in love and marries him. WTF????

I think this book is an insult to women that have been raped. I don't think a women in this world would do what the mum in this book did.

Awful.

GOD I HOW DID I READ THIS!? First of all, Alex was a Sociopath but I admired Jettie because she made me feel somewhat bad towards him. Near the end I was rooting for the poor bastard. I honestly hated Whit. She WAS an unfit mother I know that those pictures were fake, but Still. The ones actually doing the parenting to her child in this book were her parents until Alex came along. She loved Maddie, yes. But Maddie annoyed me to no ends too. She was so bratty and spoiled. And Whit was honestly an alcoholic. She got drunk at every opportunity and thought that being drunk was enough reason to spread her legs for anyone who looked like they could be good in bed, SHE WAS A MOTHER FOR FUCKS SAKE. THAT MAKES HER UNFIT. I know that she never did that while Maddie was in attendance and that obviously people have needs, but get a vibrator and stop fucking some guy who's 15 years older than you.

Four years ago Whitley’s life was forever changed when she met Alex Wesson. Alex Wesson was a wealthy senior in college and had his family’s prestigious last name. Whitley was looking to the future of finishing her senior year of high school and going to college with her best friend. At that time Whitley was young, naïve and scared to tell the truth for fear nobody would believe her. All of Whitley’s dreams for her future were suddenly changed with the impending arrival of Maddie. Maddie is now a spunky 4 year-old who has her mother and grandfather wrapped around her fingers. Little does she know that she will soon have her father wrapped around her fingers.

In a chance encounter, Alex and Maddie come face to face with each other and he immediately sees his resemblance in her eyes, the same cowlick in their hair, and their shared long dark lashes. There’s no question that he is her father. No words are spoken between Whitley and Alex, and Whitley believes she is in the clear when after several weeks she doesn’t hear anything from him. Unfortunately, Alex has motives behind his carefully laid plans.

“What do you want, Alex?

“I want my daughter. The one that you chose to keep from me for three years.”

Alex does not want to be a weekend father. This is Alex’s once chance to be a father and he wants full custody of his daughter. He pulls out all the stops and will stop at nothing to make it appear that Whitley has been an unfit mother. Pictures don’t lie, right? Whitley realizes there’s no way out of this and agrees to let him see his daughter.

Please don’t like him…don’t hold his hand.

Whitley’s life is once again changed by Alex Wesson. He holds the upper hand and holds his control over Whitley’s head knowing that there’s nothing she can do to stop him. He has forced them to live a charade of happiness without anyone ever knowing the truth.

Alex’s proposition to keep both of them involved in Maddie’s life is not ideal, but it allows both of them to be active parents. Neither one of them is willing to give Maddie up to become a weekend parent, and Whitley is fully aware that she would lose if it came down to a court’s decision. Alex is a very smart man and he has covered all his bases for every scenario.

He covered his tracks like a cat covers shit. He had me. He was going to take Maddie. Everyone was on his side. They all believed him.

Alex’s charade of a happy life with Whitley is so good that even Whitley’s father gives them his blessing. Whitley has nobody on her side. At this point I agreed with Whitley…she needed away from Alex. I could not believe the things he was capable of doing! He was manipulative, conniving, bossy and downright scary as to the lengths that he would go to guarantee custody of Maddie, but yet he was a wonderful, attentive father and it was evident how much he loved his daughter. It was clear he would do anything for Maddie. It’s hard to believe, but there is a softer side to Alex and we begin to see glimpses of it.

“Whitley. What do you want? I don’t know how to make you happy.”

Can Alex make Whitley happy or is the past too difficult to let go and move forward? Above anything else, it’s too much for Whitley. Whitley has finally had enough of living a life of lies. All of Alex’s threats and mastermind planning has finally broke her.

“You win, you f*ck face. I will be the weekend mom. I will do whatever I have to do to get the f*ck away from you.”

I loved this book. I went from hatred for Alex, to thinking he’s a great father and he’s starting to show genuine feelings for Whitley, only to be thrown back into the ring of hatred and then pulled into the corner of compassion. What??? How could I feel this way for the man who was an ass? Only Jettie can make you second guess yourself and every belief you possess. I can’t believe I fell in love with him. I couldn’t let go of the story after I finished reading it, so I immediately went back to re-read it. I loved it that much!! I still can’t believe that Alex could make me feels things in my heart for him when I know that I shouldn’t feel that way after all the manipulating he has done. He had me crying for him…can you believe that?!?!

“Whitley. I need you. I need Maddie. Please let me try this again.”

I have placed this book on my top reads of 2013. In addition, I also have Jettie’s novel “Underestimated” on the same list. If you have never given Jettie’s books a try, you truly are missing out on hidden treasures.

this book was so great, I couldn't put it down. It centers on Whitley when she was 17. Her and her friend Kylie sneak out from her dad's and go to a party. It is mostly college age students and they lie about their ages and drink and party and have a good time. Well Whitley is approached by Alex who seams to like her and as she get drunk she thinks why not. Alex invited Whitley up stairs when she needs to use the bathroom and he takes her to his room and procedes to hold her drink while she uses the bathroom. When she comes out he is sitting on his bed and she sets next to him and finishes her drink, which starts to put her in a fog and she can't do anything but lay down. She remembers what happens but she can't respond. her body responds but she keeps thinking no, but her arms don't work. Jettie Woodruff is a MASTER at making me want something I have no business hoping for! Anyone in their right mind wouldn't wish for such things! Good thing I'm rarely in my right mind!

Wow I was totally blown away with this book!!! It was so down to earth, funny and mysterious!! I was kept guessing during the whole time (ask Jettie-lol)
Something happens to Whitley which turns her world in a complete one eighty- which of course is a result of Maddie....
Tada!! The funniest little toddler ever!!
What happens when your life is no longer yours??? Was taken away at the blink of an eye??
After chance meeting things change, you have no control over your own daily life, not able to make any choices for yourself....even someone you would give your life for and at the end of your rope???
This really a special read!
Being a mother myself (even though my kids drive me freakin nuts) I felt every emotion Whitley was going thru. I was completely enthralled with "All For Maddie", thank you soooooo much Jettie Woodruff for allowing me to ARC for you!!

I don't know how to rate this. I can't believe the events that happened in this book. Let alone understand how I finished the damn thing. I'm a glutton for punishment I guess & Jettie Woodruff knows how to write about great douchebags, assholes, psychopaths, & definitely a great anti-hero. I don't know if the "hero" redeemed himself enough at the end for me to say I'd ever love him because I don't. The heroine was all over the place because who in their right mind falls in love with someone like that. The only saving grace of this book for me was Maddie. It was definitely unputdownable but I'm going to need a lot of alcohol or therapy to cleanse my mind of this book.

"I am loving life." Wow this book was good! Like really good. I really enjoyed and would highly recommend it. So far, I have read 3 books by Jettie Woodruff; Underestimated, Plausibility and All for Maddie, and loved each one. Each book was better than the last! Now I'm officially a hardcore fan of Jettie Woodruff!

SPOILER ALERT!!I don’t know who I hated more, Alex or Whitley. I think Whitley. Where do I start? From the drinking problems, bad decisions on both their parts especially kidnapping, their “arrangement”, the family, her job and Matt, bad parenting well damn I guess the entire book. The story was just crazy as well as the characters. He not only raped her but she went and lived with him willingly and then she left without any problems from him. That meant she could have left a long time ago. He did some crazy things to her and made her seem crazy and drugged her with medication prescribed by her doctor for her “mental illness “ which he convinced everyone she had. He was controlling not only with their daughter but with money, decisions and she could make no friends. Then she married him. Are you serious? He accidentally burned their daughter with hot water and she missed him after she finally got custody after he tricked her into signing over all her parenting rights to him. It’s fiction but this book pissed me off.

The heroine is too stupid to like. I *think* she wants to be perceived as a good mom but constantly refers to her kid as a brat and is clearly not happy with motherhood. Which may be because motherhood was forced upon her by rape. She can't stand her rapist but her "pulsating sex" has other ideas. And the chick seems to be drunk all the time- emotional drinking, day drinking, social drinking. Basically, a pretty unappealing heroine so far. I read to 50% hoping the book would redeem itself. Came here and read someone else's review that there was no redemption and decided to quit.
