Climb the seat. Twist the bars. Helmet’s on. Check for cars. Pedal’s up. Dad’s in view. Ready, start—coming through! Good-bye, tricycle! It’s time to learn to ride a new big-kid bike. Riding a bicycle can be fun…even if there are a few bumps along the way. Daniel Griffo’s digital illustrations add to the excitement of a child’s first attempt at riding a bicycle without training wheels. Grab your helmet, hang on tight, and let’s go!
I grabbed this book at the library because my daughter loves bikes. She loves them so much, we got her her very own trike for her 2nd birthday (coming up in a month!)
This book was very short. Each page only had 4 lines and each line was only about 3-4 words long. This would be good for a beginning reader, but not so much as a bedtime book. We read it way too quickly. It wasn't long enough to really help my daughter wind down.
The plot itself is not very exciting either. A little girl just goes for a ride on her bike. While my daughter enjoyed watching the bike, not a whole lot actually happened.
I was pretty disappointed in this book. The only reason I might pick it up again would be when she's starting to read herself.
