Matt Cahill had taken a job with the lumber company because of a number of unexplained fires in the area. His senses told him his adversary Mr. Dark was responsible and he wanted to be near when things got hot-so to speak.

He ends up fighting a forest fire, rescuing innocents, and realizing it was all a trap for him. One he might have trouble escaping while trying to save the family he'd taken responsibility for in the conflagration.

Another interesting tale of the Dead Man.

One of the better episodes

The Dead Man works best if you think about it as a TV series like The Incredible Hulk. Each week, Banner wanders into a new town, meets some folks, makes a few friends, solves a conflict, then hitchhikes out of town. Maybe he gets kissed by a pretty girl.

Above average entry in the series with Matt teaming up a logging family to fight a forest fire. The characters are well drawn, the action comes thick and fast and the plot develops nicely. Very enjoyable and the ending is excellent
