Reread this week. A grumpy scientist is found dead in his home. Was it accident or murder? While he was certainly brilliant, he was hardly popular. Trewley and Stone of the CID can't find a single person who actually liked the man. And when they learn about his research, they find lots of motives to want him dead.

A good twist at the end makes up for some of the rather ordinary story and characterization.

Clever twist at the end. Pity the story had such an amount of scientific detail that made the mystery seem secondary
