PART TWO OF THE AMISH SOMMER FAMILY FARM SERIES Stella Sommer has big dreams for a young Amish woman. She’s starting a new business with Joshua Byler, and he’s the ideal partner. He’s talented, thoughtful, and distractingly attractive. He’s also completely smitten with Stella, and he would be the perfect Amish husband if Stella would only open her eyes to his potential. But Stella isn’t sure that she wants to be the perfect Amish wife, and she has met an English man who gives her a glimpse of what life could be like outside her sheltered Plain community in Ephrata, Pennsylvania. Adam gives Stella a taste of the English world, and she begins to question how she wants to spend the rest of her life. Will Stella be seduced by worldly pleasures? Will she stay true to her faith and her community? Find out in Rachel Bauer’s exciting second installment of the Sommer Family Farm trilogy.
Sneaking away on dates with an outsider can bring some unwanted consequences.
Stella thinks because she is nineteen and not baptized into the Amish church yet that she should be allowed to spend time with Adam, an Englisher who works in the town library. She finds out that buying regular clothes, shoes, and jewelry doesn't make the person. Is it worth losing respect with her family and Joshua ? I like the moral lessons that are explored.
Reading about Stella and the issues she had trying to make up her mind about staying Amish or embarking on an Englisher lifestyle was only part of the story. This was to be a choice between two men - one English and one Amish. This was an enjoyable read and I do recommend this book.
I thought this book was a pretty good read I had started reading book 3 in this series after I was able to read book 2 I think I will better understand book 3 I really enjoyed book 2 now I can finish reading book 3.
More like 3.75 stars. I had read the first in this series and I was a bit disappointed that the key character of this book detoured from a sensible girl. Yet love CAN make you a bit dopey. Right?
This is one of the VERY FEW Amish serial books that have a complete story. This book is only 85 pages yet it could be read alone as a novella.
There is a nice hook for Book 3 of the series but one is not left hanging knowing that the only way they will know what happened is to get the next book. That is ONE of the reasons this book rates 4 stars.
This is a seamless continuation from her previous work. It continues Stella's adventure to experience the English life with Adam as well as her growing relationship with Joshua.
This is an awesome read, I love the whole set of books, it was interesting to learn how they dyed their yarn, how they make businesses with the community.
