I loved this book! From the first lines in chapter 1 and all the way to the end, the author pulled me into the book and kept me there. The sex scenes were off the chart and well written. Even if you pulled them completely out, there was a solid story and lovable characters.

I believed in Drusus and Lina’s build up to total love at the end. The bad guy was awesome and you kept a love/hate relationship with him throughout He was totally messed up. The secondary characters were a great addition and I’d love to know what happens to them. Hope to see more from this author.

I have read lots of great Sci-Fi erotica but unfortunately this was not one of them.

The dialogue was super fake and I didn't like much about the aliens either. I found the whole premise of them being alien/human hybrids that absorb energy a little weird.

Not my cup of tea.

The Insedi are ridiculously gorgeous, like Greek gods. The only problem they have, is that there are no longer any women on their planet, thanks to the king of their enemy who poisoned them all, killing them in a few days. Having a vortex to Texas helps, and the warriors of the Insedi take their place in Texas, and across the globe to find mates and return to Insedivertus.

Avelina finds herself dragged to the warriors place of work, by her best friend Cassie, which happens to be a strip club! when Drusus, the Prince of the Insedi, catches the eye of Lina....well, lets just say, slam dunk on the mates stakes! But when Lina finds herself taken by the enemy king, Drusus has to return home, and to the enemy planet to save her. can he get to her in time??

This was really good! I have just one niggle, but I'll get to that shortly. Drusus works in a strip club, as a stripper, trying to find his mate, along with Severus, his protector and best friend, and many other warriors. some stay, some return. the intergration into life on Earth can be amusing for these men, and this book has some laugh out loud moments. Some painful ones, too, when learning about Lina's past, and the pain the men suffered when losing all their womenfolk. Sex is hot and off the charts, the story moves along nicely, and is well thought out.

The enemy king, sorry can't remember how to spell his name, came across somewhat warped in his mind, straight away! I didnt need the throne room scene to confirm that one! He comes across childlike at times too. weird, though!

now, my niggle. When Drusus talks, chit chats, orders, any other time than when he and Lina are getting it on, its VERY formal. no contractions, great long sentences, very well spoken, and it comes across well. BUT when he and Lina are getting it on....he dissolves into a puddle of lines that could almost be straight out a porno movie! It didnt put me off, or make me grade the book any lower, it just make me chuckle! MORE so, when you read the scene in the next book about contractions, cos I;ve read that before writing this review.

Great start to a series, and I hope many more to come. I have read Severus' story already and that review will follow shortly.

Found this author by chance, but HOLLI COW I love her. This is the first book of the series and it only gets better form here, the story is great, the sex is out of this world (literally), the hero is sweet and strong, and the heroine is smart no-nonsense type of girl. You must read this series.

I love, love, love this book. The first time I read it, I couldn't put it down. This is a HOT Sci-Fi Erotic Romance. Just in case that didn’t clear it up for you, you’re about to get into some good, steamy hot sex with a super-hot alpha male and his sweet, curvy girl. There is some suspense and drama (it just wouldn’t be the same if the Prince didn’t ride in on his white horse to save his Princess). All of the main players are introduced in the first few chapters so you get the whole book to really get to know them. You even get a peek into the drama that will unfold in later chapters. I love knowing early on, what I’m getting into, and Ms. Prater definitely delivers with some crumbs of what to expect. She has an amazing imagination in the way she paints Insedivertus; everything about it and the alien inhabitants is so detailed and well thought out.

I’m afraid to keep going because I don’t want to spoil anything for you, so be warned. The relationship that unfolds between Drusus and Avelina is beautiful. They have a romance that I can really get into. It is realistic and desperate, and reminds me sometimes of my relationship with my husband. I love when an author can make me FEEL things, especially a romance novel that can bring real feelings for someone I truly love. 5 STARS because I loved every moment of this book the second time I read it, just as much as the first.

Who knew that Sci-Fi could be so sexy! If you have any doubts then read the Fueled by Lust series. I've only just read Drusus but am moving on to Severus immediately as I fell in love with their world - both the human one and the one through the vortex. Lina is a curvaceous, witty 'human' who has accepted her body and loves it the way it is (makes a refreshing change!) whilst Drusus is just H-O-T! We're talking sex on a stick here. I wouldn't mind being swept away by him.

The wit is sharp, the sex is hot and the romance is sweet. Yes, it does all move fast - Lina admits that herself. However, with the help of a special fang necklace (trust me, it works!) they know that they are right for each other.

A sassy, sexy, hot read - perfect for those summer evenings. Definitely recommended.

Fun Sci-fi story with likeable characters and hot sex. Drusus is a Prince from his planet and is living on earth looking for his mate. When Cassie and Avelina come into his club and he sets eyes on Avelina, he feels that she is his mate. The interaction between Drusus and Avelina is a strong, mutual feeling. She has been in dead in relatioships and her self esteem has been affected by men wanting to change her. Drusus is enthralled with her as she is and shows her both by his words and actions. This story has great interaction in characters, hot sex and HEA.

Very good

Avelina has had a hard life. She and her best friend. Drusus is amazing and an erotic dancer. He meets Avelina at the club and refuses to let her go. A evil king. A really good start.

My opinion:
OH my!! Let me tell you that the summary is putting lightly the level of steam of this book! This is really above the level of what I expected and was ready for but before explaining this point better to start by the beginning.

I greatly enjoyed this book so I’m more than happy that the Celeste offered me a copy. She built an alien world quite interesting and I really loved how she used roman history to mix with the alien one. It gave us a better grip on it, helped me to envision it better and it was also original and well though. To resume it:… Etruscan travellers found a vortex and arrived on a alien planet where the living being (of energy) decided to learn from the travellers and adapt themselves.. So language, architecture and I guess some custom from the Romans are still in use on Insidivertus world …. Yes for once we are the one exporting something^^;;

Then besides the setting, I also loved the whole idea for the main element of the plot. The aliens are of pure energy so they need it to survive….and how they found it while in our world? In the lust we give off… Why did they come here? Aside from the fact they knew our world existed, is simply because their world was attacked and all their female killed…..if you know some of your Roman history you will think about immediately when you meet the villain ,coming from Protonecis planet.
Drusus was an interesting character, as the prince of their world he wants to protect those under his command and he acts. He is not a leader from afar, no; he is on the first rank with his men and dirtying his hands or so to say. He has been betrayed in the past but he manages to overcome that when meeting Avelina, he did try to see it as unimportant at first but instinct is stronger.

Avelina is a young woman with healthy curves, she is intelligent and strong willed but still she manages to get a boyfriend that was using her and trying to make lost weight… she hates that about him, wanting to be loved as she is but she still let him call her again etc… the fact she couldn’t just throw him away is what I disliked the most about her. I appreciate she was strong in her beliefs and appreciating herself… just I wanted her to b more alpha I guess. When she meets Drusus she is hesitant at first because she thinks it’s a joke or a night stand but still act on it …thankfully trust and honesty make their appearances quickly.

The suspense was there…but it wasn’t not the forte of the book either as you guess the traitor immediately and his reason as well but the story flow steadily so your attention doesn’t divert from it^^.

Now the romance….. the romance itself is a good one well written… the sex parts… that’s what make me hesitate in my scoring of this book…. I was expecting some steam… not something that steamy. It’s not bad written, not vulgar (or I would have hated it) but Drusus was a little too domineering in my opinion and it could have been less described… I mean for example at the end I would have wanted more info about those coming on earth for example instead of 2 chapters of steamy.. I understand which result they wanted to reach but I think the author could have it done differently.

Don’t take me wrong I want to read the next one ( I mean when you learn about Severus in this one you have to see him shackled^^;;) but I do hope that even if the steam level stay the same that the focus on the story will be more developed.( now i was told i could simply skip the steamy parts and enjoy the story fully so be ready for the rest of the series in review soon^^)

As I said raking this one is hard...for the story it could be a 4 stars even 4 and half as I loved it … but the other side… I can’t give more than 3 as it written because I could read it but it was not to my taste so… a 3and half seems right…

If you want some terribly sexy aliens, if you love alpha domineering and if you are in need of a sexy, steamy story this is the perfect one for you if you are above 18! If you are not shy and want to discover the beginning of a series that can be quite promising this is also one for you. If you prefer sweet romance… then yes you should avoid Drusus or at least skip the steamy parts to focus on the story only .

I originally gave this novel, "Fueled by Lust" two stars. I was then contacted by the author who inquired as to my rating, and what I liked and disliked about the novel. Since the author took the time out of her busy schedule to write me, I thought it only fair that I provide a review. While some may be perturbed by this, I actually think it's a great honour to be contacted by an author regardless of my rating.

What I liked:

- The premise of the novel.

- Both Drusus and Lina were likable characters. I also liked all the secondary characters. I especially liked Ulixes, how he changed his stance when he learned the truth about Basilius.

- That Lina wasn't the typical gorgeous, long-legged, skinny heroine. Instead, she's a regular girl who's got curves with a little meat on her, and more importantly, likes herself just the way she is.

- I really liked how Drusus and Lina met and how they were both affected by the pull towards one another, especially Drusus. It was really intense.

- The sexcapades between Drusus and Lina is off-the-charts hot.

What had me rolling my eyes:

- I didn't find Basilius to be very evil. For a villain he's quite tame. I prefer my villains to be really evil.

- The whole make-out session at the club where they're dry-humping right there in the open and she's about to come after they've just met. Give me a break.

- They're at Drusus' place, they haven't had sex yet and already Lina's telling Drusus that "I'm afraid for my heart." What the hell? Why even bother saying this when she's thinking the night to be a one night stand?

- While the sex is hot, there's so much of it taking place. Seriously, half the book is just about them having sex. I love reading great sex scenes that's hot and steamy, but it got to the point it was so repetitive that I just started skimming thru it quickly to get back to the main story.

- The word "pussy" shows up 42 times. Talk about overkill. And it's always either "clenched," "throbbing," and/or "tight." We get it. Move on.

- I know it's polite but does she really need to keeping say the word "please" every time they have sex? Cue eye-roll.

"Yes, yes please! Have me, Drusus!"
"Yes, please."
"Please Drusus. I need you."
"Please Drusus, it feels so good. Make me come, please make me come."
"Do it! Please, do it now!"
"Please Drusus, please."

- While I like the premise of the novel, I thought it was too short especially since half of it's dedicated to Drusus and Lina humping like rabbits.

- Everything that's happening - from them meeting, having sex for the first time, telling Lina that he's from another planet, needs to protect her, moves her to his place (the day after they have sex for the first time), to her being kidnapped, and declaring their love for one another within days of meeting - all of it was happening too fast.

- The first time they're about to have sex and Lina asks about needing a condom, Drusus tells her to trust him, that he won't get her pregnant or give her a disease. She in turn tells him that she does trust him. Are you kidding me? WTF?! This is a huge pet peeve of mine. No one ever seems to have a condom on them. Give me a fucking break!

After contemplating more about the novel, I realized I liked it (even though I did roll my eyes quite a bit) and it's because of this that I changed my rating from two stars to three. And since the author respected my rating (thank you), I believe I'll give her next novel in the series a read.

This was an interesting story. The world Prater has created was interesting. The book made me giggle several times. The main character Drusus I just couldn't take seriously. I felt like he would say Me man you me mate. Ok, so I do love a good alpha, but when a character actually says it like that. I can't help but laugh at him. I couldn't get past that and it just distracted me.
