Deepak Arora’s first collection of Hindi poems, “वक्त के होठों पर एक प्रेम गीत” is a long saga of love, reminiscences and longing - depicting every shade of life. The poet talks about love, yearns for the lovely moments that love bestows but at the same time, he is also aware about the pain and the loneliness that culminates in the journey of attachment. This futility of love and life which is synonymous for him reflects in these kind of lines - “साबुत पैदा हुए सब टूटते हैं अंततः”. These poems written in the mists of time captivate and mesmerize the readers and compel them to think about the journey of life. We are born in a crowd, spend every moment of our life in a crowd but it is true that we are doomed to be alone as long as we are alive. There may be real love in this world but only a fortunate few can claim of having experienced it. These kind of lines fill tears in our eyes when the poet says, “वह खड़ा था कुएं की जगत पर, हिचकिचाते हुये कहा उसने.... “ Written in free verse, this is the first and last collection of the poet who devoted his life to poetry, whose sole reason for existence was poetry but unfortunately life had other plans. Do read Deepak Arora to dive in the varied emotions of love and life.
A rare find indeed and a fortunate one too....I'm not really into Hindi books and except for a few well known authors, I don't even try and experiment. But this one came highly recommended and although I had a few misgivings in the beginning but by the time I reached the end, I was really glad that I picked this up.
Love....hard to define...hard to categorize....millions of poems have been written on this one emotion - an emotion that is so universal that even animals experience it. It touches every life, in one way or the other and this anthology is a tale of the author's longing and quest for love. Love and pain are two sides of the same coin and wherever one goes, the other follows. This is poignantly captured in the poems of Deepak Arora which show that love and separation are inseparable.
Although the imageries are a bit difficult to understand but every individual can identify with the soul of the poems....which ultimately talk about the basic human need for love.
" I hav read poetry for many years but after shiv kumar batalvi ...Deepak Arora was the second man whose poetry touched my soul...He was a legend in love poetry....he was not an ordinary man ...he was a man whose roots were deep inside...Every poem is a milestone in its own, if an intelligent reader is there...this poetry is full of emotions....poetry that tells us that a man is very alone in this cruel world....his poetry is a longing of human soul...eager to break the chains and live that very precious moments of freedom.....while going through his poetry u will travel through the dark caves of human soul .when he says" Born complete everybody will break at the end"..the wait of a lover...
one can easily feel the depth of the words...the words that penetrates deep into us..and then he says
It is very sad that the grt pen departed from us.. The sensitive and passionate man will always be there in our heart..in his poems....highly recommended poems if a man beleives in love...he gave every drop to make these poems live.....
