C.M. Stunich is a self-admitted bibliophile with a love for exotic teas and a whole host of characters who live full time inside the strange, swirling vortex of her thoughts. Some folks might call this crazy, but Caitlin Morgan doesn't mind - especially considering she has to write biographies in the third person. Oh, and half the host of characters in her head are searing hot bad boys with dirty mouths and skillful hands (among other things). If being crazy means hanging out with them everyday, C.M. has decided to have herself committed.

She hates tapioca pudding, loves to binge on cheesy horror movies, and is a slave to many cats. When she's not vacuuming fur off of her couch, C.M. can be found with her nose buried in a book or her eyes glued to a computer screen. She's the author of over thirty novels - romance, new adult, fantasy, and young adult included. Please, come and join her inside her crazy. There's a heck of a lot to do there.

Oh, and Caitlin loves to chat (incessantly), so feel free to e-mail her, send her a Facebook message, or put up smoke signals. She's already looking forward to it.

My Naomi and Turner:

"Are you ready for this f*cking insanity?"

Hard Rock Roots is perfect mixture of mystery, suspense, music and hardcore messed-up characters. In 4th book of this series, all wrapped up emotions were boiling over the surface and people were breaking down under the burden of secrets and painful memories. Bad Day is a book that you won't put down until you finish it, and you wil do so while holding your breath all the time.

In this book, we are back to Naomi's and Turner's POV. Undeniable chemistry and connection between those two is so strong, so real, that I could almost feel it seeping out of the pages of this novel. They are crazy, but so unbelievably perfect together. They are exactly kind of characters that stick with you and you remember them forever.
"I've spent years searching for respect only to find that the one person I really needed it from was her. A lover. An equal."

If you don't mind reading about dirty-talking, crudely-behaving, rules-breaking characters whose morals are walking thin line between "good" and "bad", I highly recommend this series to you. Because behind all that violence and messed-up-ness, these characters are just human beings with real emotions whose wicked but fascinating story you definitely don't want to miss!

Dear Me!!!!!!!! This is worst of all cliffhanger for this series, and guess what I am done!
Am happy to announce that I am going to stop reading this series for now, as the story keeps going and going, which is good but I don't blend well with cliffhangers as every book in this series is cliffy.

 photo dm007.gif

The book returns back with Turner and Naomi and I was so happy, we get to see them go back and forth after her I love you in Get Bent!
I just wanted to strangle at this point for keeping her feelings in and out again!!! They are so perfect, why do want to fight, woman?

 photo 5690775.gif

Lucky, she came to her senses towards the end!!
I still dislike Dax, Lola and Hayden *shakes head*

By the end, more mystery is solved, the main one WHY is still left hanging with another major WHAT!!!

Warning: This review may contain mild spoilers, graphic violence, sexual references and really foul fucking language!

Another cliffhanger! C.M. Stunich, are you trying to kill me? Fuuuuuuuck! Seriously. If not for the heartfelt apology at the end of this book & the fact that the next book Born Wrong has already been released I may go off the deep end.

4.5 Stars
The angst filled drama, suspense, sexual tension and body count have all been steadily rising since book one, Real Ugly. While this installment wasn't the best in the series, it still fulfilled all of the usual requirements ... and then some.

Character development was huge in this story. Naomi may finally be willing to take a chance. Turner is committed and fearless. America shows some human emotion. Dax admits his love. Ronnie and Lola start to get serious. Even Hayden ... well, ok ... she's still a bitch, but she's a bigger bitch than before.

Drama continues to unfold as Treyjan's life is in the balance. Will he live? Will he be permanently, irreparably damaged from his injury?

The murder-mystery suspense is kicked up a notch, when some details about the villain are revealed ... we know a bit more now, but there are still so many unanswered questions. Questions like ... Why? and What the fuck?

And the sex is still scorching! My Gawd! Some of the steamiest, dirtiest moments on paper (virtual or real) are written in this series. This book has a bit more sexual tension than actual sexual acts. But it's still hot as fuck.

As with all the other books in this series, it is the writing style of Ms. Stunich that makes it all so visceral, raw, and real. It's fucked up. It's poetic. It's some of the best damn writing ever. I truly love her voice.

For that sizzle she brings to my bones, for the crushing feeling of other, that frequent reminder that there's something besides the self out there, a wild rush of beauty and feral ferocity that I can't wrap my fingers around no matter how hard I try.

And let's not forget ...
I ♥ Turner Campbell.
That is all.

4.5 Rock Hard Stars!!!!

If there could ever be death by cliffhanger, well I am sure that I would be experiencing it right about now! I finally get some Turner and Naomi progress and BAM!...left hanging after 1, 2, no 3 kisses backstage. "You're my boyfriend," I say, and the words nearly kill me. "That's all you get for now. Best I can fucking do.”

Turner and Naomi are full of baggage and just shit circumstances. They are caught in the chaos of murder, revenge, drugs and pure rock and roll. They only thing pure about the whole situation is the music within them and the way they find the truth in one another thru it!

Indecency and Amatory Riot are continuing to rock it out as they are in working towards ending the terror following their tour. With lives ended, bands separated, mates lying, and money buying people all they can do is count on one another and use their gifts to beat an evil mastermind at his own game. Never underestimate the power of music to unite people and create a maelstrom of support! It is time for Turner and Naomi to become "Boss" and end this game on their own terms...

Together, I know they will win this game...I mean no one else is as crazy as they are together...who would want to mess with that???

Just when I am finally setting into the series...feeling like this may just work out...again the bottom drops out, proving that yes, I am having a "bad day." So, I move onto the next book in hopes that Trey sees the light of day, that Lola and Ronnie get another romp, that Dax finds someone to melt his "ice", and most importantly that Turner and Naomi get to enjoy their relationship and continue to make that magic on stage that is ridiculously hot!

This book was just ok to me. I've absolutely loved the other books in this series, but this one just seemed to drag on. Until if course the last 5% of book then things got really good.......to end in another cliffhanger. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not a cliffhanger hater. But these are getting ridiculous. It's like the author is trying to drag out the series as long as she can by filling the book 90% with fluff so it can end in a cliffy - keep us interested long enough to where we'll buy the next one. It makes me sad to say this, but I don't know how much longer I can hang with this story if it keeps up this trend. :(

This plot is really starting to drag. These cliffhangers are clearly a ploy to get us to buy the next book, and it's working. However, I repeat, the plot is DRAGGING. Each of these books could easily be cut down by 100 pages. There is so much inner monologue that I actually had to devise a way to get to the point. You have to read the parts in quotes. Read the conversational parts and skip the rest. I skim everything else just in case the descriptions happen to have interesting info to solve the mystery. If there is something interesting, I highlight. Other than that, three-fourths of the book is repetitive. It's Naomi saying, "I love him but I know I shouldn't and I still kind of hate him and I don't want to be vulnerable but I can't fight this feeling." Then you have Turner who has turned into a love sick puppy dog following behind Naomi and proclaiming his undying love. It's really annoying.

The mystery in the background is moving at a snail's pace. I hate that I keep buying these books, but I feel like I've invested too much time and money to give up. After all of this, I just want to know what the hell is going on. I almost wish I would have never started this journey, but here I am. I am trying to persevere to finish so I can have some completion to this mystery that has cost me time and money that I'm not sure is justified. Oh well....on to the next.

And we're back to Naomi and Turner! And just like I had gotten used to in the first two books, their emotions are incredibly strong, intense and slightly overwhelming. I love it. I love how those two characters can feel so deeply, can care so much that it literally hurts, can go through so much even though they can barely hold onto themselves.

This book is very much a middle book in a way. The plot isn't really progressing much. We don't see any new big things from the bad guys and no huge twists are happening. However, a lot is done when it comes to building relations and communication. I love how Turner realises that it's all their secrets that are now breaking them. If they wouldn't have secrets, there wouldn't be any way to actually hurt them.

And although Turner comes across as quite pushy at times, I do think that's what Naomi needs. Her trust has been broken years and years ago and she's not simply gonna get it back. It's a good thing Turner isn't the kinda guy to just sit around and wait for it. Does it sometimes hurt to see Naomi uncomfortable and afraid? Yes, but I also really understand Turner, especially because he feels so strongly and so deeply.

There are also a few very interesting reveals in this book and I can't wait to see how all of those will play a part in the next book. I think we're slowly having all cards on the table and now it's a matter of seeing how they will be played and dealt. The cliffhanger was just as brutal as the ones from the previous books. Which means that I'm already looking forward to next week and reading more!

While I like the writing, and the plot of this entire series is way different than any other rocker books I’ve read, but I’m really starting to get annoyed with how every book just abruptly ends on a cliffhanger. There has yet to be any kind of resolution to all the issues that started in book one. Instead each book just adds more questions, more people, and then just ends out of nowhere. I’ll try the next book since I already have it, but I honestly don’t know how much more I’ll read if it keeps going like this.

After the horrendously painful cliff hanger at the end of Tough Luck, I couldn’t wait to get started on this book to find out what happens next in the Hard Rock Roots story. I have been enrapt with the stories of Turner and Naomi et al since the start and this series is just getting better and better. These books might not suit everyone but I love the rawness they portray and they make a wonderful change from sweet and sickly romance novels.

Bad Day starts immediately where Tough Luck left off without any unnecessary torment. When I could finally tear me eyes away from what has to be the hottest book cover on the market, I settled down to finally find out what happened after the attack on Indecency and Amatory Riot. The pieces of this puzzle were starting to fall into place slowly through Tough Luck and by the end of Bad Day many more questions have been answered.

Turner and Naomi are the main focal points again in Bad Day but the rest of the cast also feature in their own spellbinding way. I love the relationship that Turner has with Naomi and her stubbornness to accept her feelings towards Turner and his dogged determination to make her accept him as her boyfriend. When they are together their emotions for one another are almost tangible and you can’t help but get swept away with their relationship which is raw, funny, passionate and just so perfect. It’s simply magical when Naomi and Turner are on stage together towards the end of the story and I love that Turner will happily put his feelings for Naomi out there for all to see.

I have to say it though, CM Stunich has ruined me again. After a fabulous story you reach the end of the book (at 92%, grrrr) only to find another cliff hanger and in the same vein as the ending of Tough Luck. I have screamed, stamped, pulled my hair out and used unimaginable expletives that I can only hope that CM Stunich has heard. I swear to God that if the next book doesn’t fall into my hands soon I may implode. These books have so much hidden depth and so many facets to the characters that it’s hard to remember what has happened in previous books. Thank goodness for my kindle and the search button!!! If book 5 ends on a cliff hanger though I am likely to need hospitalisation so please CM Stunich, from an avid fan in pain, put me out of my misery!

My frustrations aside, I have to admit to still loving CM Stunich and her writing. I just can’t get enough of her books and I don’t care who calls me a stalker, for me she is one amazing writer who everyone should experience, even if the Hard Rock Roots books are not for you. This author can write just about anything really well so go and take the CM Stunich experience for yourself.

DISCLAIMER TO MY FELLOW GOODREADER
This review is my personal opinion and may contain: spoilers, quotes, rants, cussing (sometimes I cannot help myself) and a possible full on recap. I in no way want to ruin anyone’s book reading experience so please read my words with caution.

I'm going into this book accepting there will be a cliffhanger.. I'm going to attempt to reel it in when I read all the way through this fucked up gang of misfits I've grown to love. It may get ugly at the end. I may have a complete meltdown.

Let's recount some things we do know. Turner took Naomi's virginity when she was 16. She got pregnant and aborted the baby (on March 15). Turner is a rock God and this is his tour as lead singer of Indecency. Naomi rocks the axe for Amatory Riot and is rock goddess. Turner's former bandmate Travis died awhile back. Not sure if it's related at this point. Naomi was kidnapped by the band Ice and Glass and her foster brother Eric. A roadie was killed and staged to look like Naomi. Lola stops Cohen from raping her while she's held captive. Hayden is in on the plan. Milo has gotten increasingly shifty. There are dirty cops. Two of four of Ronnie's kids moms have been murdered. Lola confessed all she knew to Ronnie, Turner and Naomi. Someone got fucking shot at the end of book 3. We know the dude pulling the strings is Tyler Rutledge.

Well fuck. Trey is the one who got shot. Turner ran his mouth at the concert which may have partially led to the sniper shot (or it was preplanned). I want to throttle Hayden and that smirk. I fear for Lola.. I really do. Her playing with Indecency (and Naomi) was a giant fuck you to Mr Rutledge and her band. Now the gang is freaking stuck in a "safe house" in middle of nowhere and America just showed up. She better tell the trio what she wouldn't over the phone or I will LOSE IT.

Fucking finally! Naomi beats the ever loving shit out of Hayden. Turner finally pulls her off. She freaks out when they have shower sex. Right after he proposes. She doesn't want to feel again. Lola can't be reached, not good. Tyler Rutledge is not his real name and he's some label exec. Naomi is pulling away.. No shit America is hiding something bigger. I think she's married to the Tyler (Stephen) dude. Excuse me? America was engaged to Travis.. And he was murdered. Oh she totally was (is) married to Stephen.

Fuck the ending.

Cliffhanger - like we are surprised..(book 4 of series)

Ugh!! I am so hoping that Turner and Naomi get their happy ending after all this. I love this series and author, but I'm hoping we get a conclusion soon. Of course, I'd keep reading anything else written about these characters, any spinoffs or extra books. I know they'd be good.

We do get some additional answers in this book. America is back. Turner is spot on. Although I'm actually beginning to feel sorry for him. He's sad in this book and he loves Naomi, wants Naomi and is doing his best to be patient for her and show her how much he loves her. But you just want to reach through the Kindle and slap Naomi for dragging this out. Enough is enough. Naomi does finally give in a little more to Turner and its time! Hayden is still sneaky and sleezing around. Ronnie and Lola are still together, and I hope Ronnie ends up with his happy too. He's had some really bad days too.

Overall this is another wonderful book in this series. There are still a lot of unanswered questions about what's going on and who you can and can't trust. You find out who was shot at the end of Tough Luck, but you're left with more questions there too. The writing and dialogue among the characters is good as always. It's great getting duo POVs, especially from Turner and Naomi. The only complaint I have is being ready to find out how it ends. Although that's probably more impatience than a complaint. The next book is entitled Born Wrong. (Maybe Dax's POV since that's the tattoo on his eyelids??? Not sure.)

If you haven't read this series yet let me tell you a bit about it. This is a gritty, dirty, hot, crazy rocker romance . There's a lot going on in each book that you won't be able to put it down. Naomi & Turner go from dirty druggie rockers to mostly clean in love rockers. Now this isn't an easy romance it's one of the most difficult romances I've read, but it's not just about those two we also get Lola & Ronnie which is a different romance - much easier in a way. This is the 4th book & I thought it was the last one but nope I got a big f.u. at the end with another cliff hanger. This book is from Naomi & Tucker's pov. I love Tucker even more in this book he is hot and is relentless in his pursuit of Naomi. As for Naomi her walls are crumbling but she is still a prickly pear. Things start to become clear on who & why is reeking havoc on their lives a few hot juicy a little less dirty sex scenes.

This book didn't do much for me... Naomi is really getting on my nerves now with her dilemma, I mean, just make up your mind already! Seriously, enough is enough!
On my review of the previous book I wrote that the solution for the whole mistery would either be something really smart or really stupid. Well... it isn't really stupid, but not the cleverest thing either. At least it wasn't something completely predictable, imo. Now what's becoming predictable are all those cliffhangers at the end of each book. It's getting so old, I just roll my eyes when I get to the last sentence of the book, instead of an OMG! On the bright side, this book was a lot easier on the gross and disgusting details about the sex, drugs and rock n' roll life style. Therefore, I'm giving this book 2 stars even though I still like the story and intend to continue with the series.

So I finally made my way back to this book. The six month break made it a little more enjoyable I think. The best thing about it was even after that long I still remembered what was going on and who everyone was. I think that alone says a lot about an author's writing. A lot of times I can't remember a book days after reading it. I also didn't realize there were still unpublished books to this series, so for once I think I might take my time with them. Everything about these books is over the top so I think that small doses may be the way to go.

I'm sitting here speechless. Bad Day from the Hard Rock Roots series by C.M. Stunich continues with Naomi and Turner and their back and forth love/hate relationship. There's lots of action in this book and true to C.M. Stunich...it ends on a merciless cliffhanger...with no apologies. But, you can't help but love how these stories continue. Nicely played, Ms. Stunich, nicely played.

I keep continuing with my overall review of this series even on the individual books. Because to me they all belong together and are all pretty fantastic.

You see, I got addicted pretty fast to this group of people, got so attached to certain characters, that I had no choice but read all 9 books within two weeks 🙈 What a ride that was!

If you are up for a romantic suspense ride with s*x, dr*gs and rockstars, if you want as many lovable characters as there are those you'll hate, if you want emotionally raw characters with as much darkness as well as light, this series is definitely something you don't want to miss!

And yes, you need to read all of them, if you want all the answers. And you should definitely read them in order.... Within all the trouble that the two bands got dragged into, there are three couples that find their love and whose stories are told along the suspense plot.
