I just finished an ARC read of this book and I am blown away. Season's of Sorrow is a beautiful story that will take you on an emotional journey. Even though the subject matter is heart breaking, C.C. does an amazing job weaving humor, hope and passion throughout the book to lessen the pain. This is definitely going on my "favorites" shelf.

Don't let it break you.
No matter how hard things get, life goes on.

Incredible wouldn't even come close to describing this story. It had everything, and made you live the lives of the characters; it did for me anyways. It was extraradinary, and had just the best book boyfriend. Greg made me feel, well, safe too

Gitte:
Oh wow, talk about a beautiful and emotionally harrowing story, Jenny. I think any Mum or Dad who reads this story will feel a pang in his and her chest and no doubt shed many tears. I know I did. Seasons of Sorrow was brilliantly written, it was honest, raw and extremely haunting. The crux of the storyline broke my heart, the loss of a treasured loved one, a child no less and the loss of life as you know it at the same time, through no fault of your own. It was quite a journey!

“It’s just a lot harder than I thought it would be.” – Charlie

“What is?” – Brandy

“Pretending to be normal.” – Charlie

This story is about a woman who loses everything yet through friendship, humour, passion and a second chance at honest true love learns that it is okay to grieve yet live life to the fullest and it’s okay to love again. This story is about Charlie learning to overcome grief, cope with the ultimate betrayal and deception as well as making a surprising discovery which changes her life forever, for the better.

‘Charlotte missed being held, missed having another person beside her, holding her close.’

It was truly both a heart-warming and heart-breaking journey and I lived every second alongside Charlie until the end, she had a hell of a mountain to climb. This woman showed such incredible strength didn’t she, Jenny? She was truthfully an inspiration!

I thought all the characters in this story were really well written, I fell in complete love with her friends, especially Greg!!!!

“There’s something in the air between us. It’s so thick and strong that I can practically see it. It’s almost tangible.”

That man is amazing, for everything he’s been through, everything he does and everything he feels. What a complete rock! He was amazing wasn’t he Jenny?

Jenny: Oh Gitte, I love a friends to lover’s story and this one was so beautifully written with the events leading to Greg and Charlotte confronting their feelings being tragic, haunting and heartbreaking to say the least.

‘It was like a dream. A nightmare.’ – Charlotte

Ahh Gitte, Greg was a truly wonderful man. He was patient, caring, loving, supportive and loyal despite having to stand in the wings and watch Charlie share her life with another man who didn’t deserve her. When Charlotte was at her lowest ebb, when she was overwhelmed with heartache, Greg would be there to take her pain and be her strength when all seemed lost to Charlotte. He stole my heart with his tenderness and his unwavering love for Charlotte, especially when he had to lay witness to her world crumbling before her eyes.

“It hurts,” “It’s too much I can’t take it.” ………”I can’t take it.”– Charlotte
“Give it to me. I’ll take it for you.” – Greg

As a mother you can’t even begin to comprehend the utter loss and despair you would experience over the passing of a child. How would you ever cope if you were in Charlotte’s situation? Well, this author certainly did a splendid job of handling such a tragic and sad subject with sensitivity, warmth, humor, hope, beauty and a great deal of heart.

“It’s okay to let go, Charlotte. You’re safe with me.” – Greg

Initially it was akin to experiencing a person’s feelings through a journal because Charlotte’s emotions felt so raw and even without the heartfelt message from the author in the forward, it was clear to see that this story came from the heart. You almost felt as if C.C. Wood left a little bit of her soul on the pages of Seasons of Sorrow and as a result I felt this story deep in my heart.

“Thank you.” – Charlie
“For what?” – Greg
“For knowing what I need before I do.” – Charlie

Charlie’s journey was poignant and unfeigned, painful yet uplifting. As Charlotte became trapped in her grief and all seemed lost to her she had to learn to move forward and reassess her life and in the process Charlie learnt so much about herself. She showed strength of character even she wouldn’t have realised she was capable of. Yes Gitte, she truly was an inspirational woman.

“How can you ask me that, B? I’ve always done what was expected of me, bent over backwards to please everyone else, and what has that gotten me? I’ve lost everything. I don’t even recognize myself.” – Charlie

I have to make special mention of her BFF Brandy. Every girl needs a Brandy by their side! This is one of those special reads that always claim a place in your heart.

G&J: In life, we can face many tragedies of different proportions and it’s hard to know how and if we can possible overcome the mental and physical pain, the grief and the battle to continue to live life to its full potential. The message in Seasons of Sorrow is quite beautiful and has significant relevance, as well as being inspiring and hopeful.

“If you’re angry, then yell. If you’re sad, then cry. If something makes you happy, don’t be afraid to smile. There is no handbook for grief. You have to take things as they come.” – Greg

There is no measure of grief, no measure of the importance of friendship nor love. Our memories will always stay with us no matter how our life may change no matter how we move on in life and heal. C.C Wood wrote a truly beautiful and moving story that needs and deserves to be read!

“Only you can decide when you’re ready to move forward with your life or fall in love again. You have to do what is best for you…” – Greg

I don't know.... I think this is a case of me not the book. Not sure why I didn't enjoy it more and actually found myself bored with it towards the end. I feel guilty saying that because the concept of the story is quite sad and touching. It's a story about healing and finding strength within yourself. Even though it didn't work for me I'd still recommend it to other readers. I think my taste is changing and that's why this wasn't a hit for me but I am sure it will be for others.

My least favorite of C.C. Wood books

I didn't really like this one. The heroine was kind of a whiney bitch who let her ex-husband walk all over her. I have no idea why Greg, the H in this story, liked her.

“We are healed of a suffering only by experiencing it to the full.” - Marcel Proust

The loss of a child is the most devastating experience a parent can face.

Even though the subject matter is heart breaking, Seasons of sorrow by C.C. Wood is a beautiful and emotionally story. It’s a story about love , lose, self discovery, acceptance, healing and findind peace. I really like how the story is structured around the seasons as Charlotte finds peace and begins to return to life.

The story is about Charlotte who loses her three month old baby boy to SIDS and learn to cope without her husband who abandon her in the most difficult moment of her live.

“Her entire being was focused on the scream welling within the very depths of her soul, a primitive wail saturated with grief and rage.”

She try to move on. After some time she is better but she feels guilty that she is planning her life while her baby is gone. In the final, she understands that whether she liked it or not, her life was going on.

“ Grief isn’t a step-by-step process. Every person grieves differently and every person heals on their own time. Don’t put limitations on yourself because you think that’s the way it should be. Only you can decide when you’re ready to move forward with your life or fall in love again. “ – Greg

I love Charlotte, such a strong woman…She is lucky to have such amazing friends in Brandy and Greg. I love how supportive , caring , protective was Greg and how the relation between Charlotte and Greg evolvs. He is so patient and loving with her in everything he does , in everything he says.

“It hurts,” “It’s too much I can’t take it.” ……….”I can’t take it.” – Charlotte
“Give it to me. I’ll take it for you.” – Greg

I’m so happy that Charlotte finds happiness in the final with a real man who loves her and their baby. She deserves it.

“There’s something in the air between us. It’s so thick and strong that I can practically see it. It’s almost tangible.”

One way to cope with the lose of a child is to write about him/ her or to read similar stories. For those who experienced this kind of lose this story will help you find peace…

“…she understood that she would always carry him in her heart, but that life was meant to be lived. Because she had learned the hard way that life was a precious gift and precious things should never be wasted.“

BRILLIANT!!

This book was an emotional roller-coaster ride, but what a wonderful journey!

**yes I got up early this morning(before my family) so I could finish the story.
You see, I had to put the book down at 2:15 this morning because my eyes were crossing, and it was calling me at 6 am to finish it.
I just hit the epilogue when my house began to stir.
Now I'm in desperate need of coffee, and have to get ready to go snowshoeing with my husband. It's actually warm(er) today (only -10*c and sunny).

...so, a review will be posted soon.

Have a great day everyone! :)

I'm not going to give you a recap about this book because the synopsis is great and anything else would be full of spoilers. So, the best way for me to hopefully convince you why you must read this 5+++ masterpiece is to explain the emotion.

Sorrow.
Hopeful.
Loving.
Deceit.
Friendship.
Depression.
Heartache.
Hope.
Laughter.
Grief.

I could go on and on with all the emotions that CC Wood has written into "Season of Sorrow." Needless to say, this book touched me from the very first page and didn't let go until the last word was read.

This is a beautifully written, fairly simple story. Charlotte loses her 3-month old baby to SIDS and is devastated. Her husband doesn't really support her in her grief and she soon finds out why. He's a lying, cheating, heartless bastard. Her world collapses. This story is about two long time friends of her's that help her through these trying times and how she finds love again. There is no insta-anything here. We grieve with her, cry with her, get better with her, and then fall back into depression with her before she finally realizes that life isn't always perfect and you have to grab the happiness while its there. I loved this story a lot.

Seasons of Sorrow is an amazing read! C.C. wood takes you on an unimaginable journey. Reading about Charlotte's story after that tragic story was so emotional. For Derek to desert her after the tragedy was wrong of him; and he later deserved everything that happens to him. I give his book 4 stars and hope to read more from C.C. wood

C.C.'s latest release is Seasons of Sorrow. I hope you take my advice and not let the subject matter deter you. Although the death of a child is a harrowing thought for any parent, the event is not the focal point of the story. The passing of Charlotte Fallon's precious son is handled quickly and thoughtfully and again, if this is a reason you might be on the fence about reading this book, don't let it hold you back. I was going to continue on by saying that Seasons of Sorrow is not so much about the death of a child but about surviving the grief and learning to live again, but this story is about so much more than that. Not only is Charlotte grieving but she is dealt an immediate and continual shitstorm of betrayal by her (think of the worst possible string of profane words and insert here) husband. Derek is an asshole of astronomical proportions whose cruelty knows no bounds. Charlotte's sanity and support come from her two best friends Greg and Brandy who have been an integral part of Charlotte's life since college. By the end of the first chapter I already had a love for Greg. The man who should be supporting Charlotte is her selfish S.O.B. husband but it's Greg that comforts Charlotte through her darkest moments. It's Greg who carries Charlotte when she collapses, holds her while she sobs and pulls her hair back when she's ill. I don't need to tell you that Greg is a gorgeous specimen of a man from his beautiful grey eyes and amazingly sculpted body because Greg's actions speak for themselves.

My four star rating is not based on our usual Scandalicious standard of rating because that would mean I was classifying this story as "Excellent, full of swoon" which I think is not appropriate for the subject at hand. My rating is based on a number of things. I really applaud C.C. for the subject matter she took on because as horrific as the circumstances are which start this book off, it is not a depressing read. I don't want to say that I love the storyline because that just feels all kinds of wrong to say it like that, I do love that C.C. took a chance on something outside the box within this genre. Another element I thought was clever is that the story is broken up by season. The story starts in the winter and makes one complete rotation ending back in the winter of the following year. Each new season starts out with a quote which I think sets the tone of Charlotte's recovery. I am not going to get all touchy feely and try to tell you something deep and insightful like as the seasons change, so do we and life goes on. All of a sudden I am hearing 'sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of Our Lives' and I haven't watched that show since Marlena levitated so God only knows where that came from! What you do have is a story that takes you through the grief and healing process of a woman who has lost a baby, endured startling revelations about her husband but finds strength in her newfound independence as she slowly puts the pieces of her life back together. And finally, I think C.C. does a beautiful job with the development of the love story. It plays out slowly and realistically because I think it would have been a horrible disservice to the story for Charlotte to have jumped straight into the arms of another man as a way to deal with her grief. That is not Charlotte. Her only focus is on her loss with little consideration to her own well being or happiness. Fortunately for her, the man who loves her unconditionally is all kinds of patient, ten years in the waiting kind of patient and eventually Charlotte realizes that although there will always be a piece of her that aches for her loss, the darkness that has consumed her for so long is no more.

First off let me just say that this is a sad and depressing story and what Charlotte went thru is something no woman should ever experience.

That being said, I was bored out of my mind with this one. By the half-way mark I didn't know if I could go on. I just kept hoping it would get better. The one thing I couldn't let go of, that really pissed me off was how her two "best friends" knew all along for nine years that Charlie's husband, Derek, had been cheating on her after being married for only one year. Seriously, what kind of fucking "best friends" are they? Her girlfriend Brandy never liked Derek, and Greg, he never trusted him. To say that they thought Charlotte would not believe them and would stick her head in the sand, give me a break. If you have to, shake the girl, slap her in the face until she wakes up and sees what's going on in front of her. The fact that she's ignorant to what's going on with her husband, seriously, how stupid can one be? Sure, it's possible that you don't know some of what's going on with deceitful, cheating husband, but still, use your head. She mentions that she let Derek change her; him asking her to quit her job, how to dress, and how to be a proper wife, etc. all the while losing her identity. What identity? She didn't even have one at the beginning. If anything, she was deaf, dumb and blind. She always knew there was something not right about Derek and her marriage yet, she believed every word out of Derek's mouth.

Then there's Greg. What business man would say sure, you stole millions of dollars from the company but if you pay it back we'll forget all about it? Even worse, he was going to do the same thing a second time when Derek stole millions. Seriously? Give me a break. He never trusted the man yet he does nothing.

By the way, you would think the FBI would know where Derek took off to had they perhaps, I don't know, tap his mother's phone since she was in contact with him. Instead, they tap only Charlotte's. My eyes are rolling quite a bit.

I have to say that there wasn't one character I liked. Talk about lacklustre characters, absolutely no life to them. The relationship between Greg and Charlotte - boring! Even the sexcapades were a yawn fest. The man has been in love with her for over ten years. He'd been trying for months to clue Charlotte in but she never did. Does he tell her? Hell no. Instead, he introduces her to someone else. How about telling her you moron instead of watching Charlotte and Derek getting closer, especially since you always questioned his character? The theme of stupidity is abundantly clear in this one from beginning to end.

A huge disappointment for me. I was so glad when I got to the end, one which I thought was boring. Like you couldn't see what happened a mile away. Cue more eye rolls.

Where to even begin? I LOVED this book! Seriously. This has got to be one of C.C. Wood's best books yet.

Book blub: Just a few short months after her son’s birth, Charlotte Fallon faces a parent’s worst nightmare. In her darkest hour, she finds herself abandoned by her husband, Derek, left to deal with her heartbreak alone. Jobless and with very little money, she fights to regain her footing.

As the months pass, secrets her husband managed to bury are unearthed and she wonders if she ever truly knew him. As the truth continues to come to light, Derek’s business partner and Charlotte’s friend, Gregory Swift, steps in to help her deal with the repercussions of her husband’s betrayal.

Seasons come and go, and, as Charlotte begins to return to life, she realizes that she is much stronger than she believed. And while a pain this deep can never be forgotten, Charlotte learns there is room for joy in the future as the wounds heal. Even a winter of sorrow can eventually warm into a summer of sweetness.

*This 77,000 word novel discusses the loss of a child to SIDS and is suitable for readers age 18+.

So based on the blurb, you can get an idea of what the story is about. Such a heartbreaking story. I'm not a mother so I couldn't connect with the deep emotional connection that Charlotte had with her baby but I would be lying if I didn't say that I was emotional when it came to reading what happened. Her loss, her sorrow was deep. And that her husband Derek was such an asshole just made you feel even more for Charlotte. It was like she was a single parent dealing with the loss by herself instead of a married woman and husband sharing the grief. And Derek - what a d-bag. I didn't like him in the beginning and I certainly didn't like him as the story progressed. When you read the book you'll see why.

Brandy and Greg are Charlotte's best friends and her rocks of support. Greg - loved him immediately. They really do help Charlotte, or Charlie as they call her, try to get her life back. You can see why they are such great friends and for so long. I was totally Team Greg from the beginning.

I highly recommend this book. I could not put it down once I got started - unless I had to go to sleep because I had work the next day.

Beautiful story about a mother's love for her son even after so many months and her finding her voice and self again after everything she has to go through.

C.c. Wood

Seasons of Sorrow

Five stars

I must begin by saying that I have read several of C.C. books and have enjoyed them all. I knew by the title that I was certainly in for a much different experience than in her previous work.

It was a beautiful but heartbreaking story about one woman faced with loss, tragedy and betrayal who gradually learns to live and love again. Thriving through it all because of undying friendship and unconditional love.

Charlotte or Charlie as she is called by her fiends is a 30 year old married woman with a 3 month old son. When the unthinkable happens she must try to heal and make her way through the grief and sorrow. She is at one of the lowest points in her life when she falls victim to her husband Derek and his ultimate betrayal and deceit.

Charlie is blessed with two of the most beautiful and loving friends that anyone could have ever asked for. Brandy and Greg have been friends with Charlie since college. They have always loved and supported Charlie each in their own way. They realize that she is an extremely shy and sensitive person and have always taken the steps necessary to protect her. They have now been left with a friend who is a shattered shell of her former self and have taken it upon themselves to help her put her life back together.

Their journey helping Charlie back to normalcy is amazing. Greg is such a strong , beautiful man. He also has been betrayed by Derek a man he thought was a friend and his business partner. Derek had taken everything from him including the woman he had always loved. Brandy becomes her rock and begins to help her sort through the legal system and criminal investigation. I felt like each time Charlie was climbing her way back up she was yet again beaten down. I couldn't imagine how much more one person could take.

This was an en extraordinary story of rising from the ashes and learning to strengthen, heal, trust, rebuild and love with all your heart again. A beautiful Story. ~~Michele~~

I am just amazed at how well this book was written. I have never experienced the loss of a child and yet reading this made me feel as if I lost something. I feel for Charlotte, after losing your child of 3 months old, heck any age...then her husband walks out on her and not for reasons that one would think. She is left to grieve for here baby alone. But her best friends Brandy and Greg are there for her every step of the way to help her heal.

I don't know what I would do if I were Charlotte but I know that Brandy and Greg did everything they could do to help Charlotte cope with her pain. They were there to pick her up when she was down and to love her more when she was going into a deeper depression. This is what friends do. When Charlotte finds out more secrets about her husband they are there to hold her up. That man was a total jerk. Then there is Greg, he is so loving and caring and really is what a good hearted person is all about.

All I can say is that C.C. really did a fantastic job with this book. I enjoyed reading it even though the subject matter was difficult. The story flowed perfectly and kept me interested with the added twists and turns in the book.

Seasons of Sorrow is beautiful and heart breaking in the best possible way. I knew walking into this story that it would be a hard subject matter from the blurb but nothing could have prevented me from feeling Charlotte's pain with heart wrenching clarity. I am not a mother, I have as yet been unable up fall pregnant despite trying almost desperately to do so. So I understand the sense of hopelessness, the desperate longing for something, that depending on your beliefs wasn't meant to be.

Dealing with a subject that is so prevalent in today's society, something we don't like to discuss, it's effects are far reaching on both society and the individuals and families that it touches.

Beautifully written, and straight from the heart this book had a profound affect on me. It touched me in ways I can't even put into words, I sobbed, gut wrenching, soul shattering tears. Seasons of Sorrow broke me, and slowly piece by piece put me back together.
Easily one of my favourite reads this year, it is a story that will stay with you long after you've read the last page.
Congratulations C.C. Wood on a brilliant piece of word, thank you for your words.

Such a beautiful story. Yes, the subject matter is deep but it is handled perfectly. Seasons of Sorrow is more of a story of acceptance and finding peace during the most insanely difficult of times. The bad guy is truly the worst of all possible characters…just when you think he can't get any worse…think again! The best friends are exceptional and the journey to love is lovely.

This isn't your typical romance book but the love story is a joy to read and expertly paced. Well done CC Wood. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Received an ARC of this book and all I can say is WOW!! This story is one woman's emotional journey to survive her child's death and her husbands betrayal. She is on an emotional roller coaster she fears she will never escape!

CC Wood has captured the desperation, unimaginable heartache and fear with extremely well written characters and storyline. This author takes you on Charlotte's journey to hell and back with caring and dignity. You cry, laugh, but survive this beautifully written story.

Seasons of Sorrow is a heartbreaking story of loss and betrayal. This book is not all about sorrow but also about friendships, loyalty and love.

I have read CC Wood’s books and I can say that this by far the best from her collection. She wrote it so beautifully, that you can really feel the emotions that Charlotte went through. I love how she makes Greg the hero in Charlotte’s life and put Derek in his place.

Overall, CC did a good job with Seasons of Sorrow. Emotional but rewarding in the end.

Seasons of Sorrow was a beautiful story about overcoming heartbreaking loss and trying to move on. Even though there were a few parts that felt little bit boring to me, I couldn't wait to see how the story would continue and what the characters' reaction to that would be.

Seasons of Sorrow is an emotionally gripping novel about restoring your hold on life after finding yourself at rock bottom. This is by far C.C. Wood’s best book to date. I sobbed, my heart shattered, and I fought alongside Charlotte as she pieced herself back together little by little.

The story follows Charlotte Fallon as her world is demolished after one unexpected tragedy. Abandoned by her husband, she is left to cope on her own with the help of a small but mighty support group. Action takes place mostly in the present, but the reader is given glimpses into the past as a point of reference for Charlotte’s relationships with Derek, her estranged husband, and one of her closest friends, Gregory Swift. The story is structured around the seasons as Charlotte slowly regains her footing and establishes stability once again.

I cannot emphasize enough how much I loved this book. The dedication, emotion, and passion C.C. Wood invested in this story radiated off each page and engulfed me within a matter of paragraphs. Charlotte’s mourning was not brief. Immersed in the story, I journeyed with the heroine through each step towards closure and acceptance. There were times where Charlotte was at a standstill and drowning in her own sorrow. Other times progress prevailed only to be halted by fleeting moments of regression. It was both tragic and at times beautiful. These conflicting ideas resonated deep in my heart and I can honestly say this book has left a lasting impression on me.

Women who can relate to Charlotte will find Seasons of Sorrow to be soothing and therapeutic. For readers who have not been in Charlotte’s shoes, this story will still have an impact and leave them with a sense of both heartbreak and healing. I strongly recommend Seasons of Sorrow by C.C. Wood for all readers. It’s a definite must read for 2014!

Let me just throw this out there first, and say that this is not a book I would typically read as it deals with the loss of a child but I am not sorry that I read it. You know right from the start it is going to be sad, and while it did hurt to read certain parts of the story, C.C. really did manage to make Seasons of Sorrow into a beautiful story. 4 stars.

“It hurts,” “It’s too much I can’t take it.” ………”I can’t take it.”– Charlotte
“Give it to me. I’ll take it for you.” – Greg

The story…..
Charlotte wakes up one morning to have her life irrevocably changed. Her infant son is not breathing; her once perfect world has just turned into a nightmare. Charlotte’s son’s tragic death sets off a chain of events…Charlotte’s depression, her husband walking away and not seeming to care (ugggh such a jerk). So many secrets and lies are revealed and Charlotte is left to grieve alone. Thankfully, her best friend’s Brandy and Greg are there to help her heal and be her rocks. Charlotte has a difficult journey ahead of her and will face many obstacles coming to terms with her loss and grief. What I didn’t expect was a friends/lover storyline which I was so grateful for when Charlotte found her strength and started living her life again.

“Only you can decide when you’re ready to move forward with your life or fall in love again. You have to do what is best for you…” – Greg

This was a well written, beautiful, heart-wrenching read. C.C. did a great job showcasing emotions in this book…heartbreak, sorrow, grief, betrayal….then bringing it around to love, hope, trust, and remembrance.

This book took me through a range of emotions. Although at times we get a peak of CC humor that we love, this is a very dramatic, emotion filled read that will leave you with a good cry or two.

What if you woke up one day and your entire life was taken from you. That's exactly what happened to Charlotte. After 8 years of marriage Charlotte and Derek have their perfect baby boy. Her perfect world turns into a nightmare when he goes to wake up Adam only to see he is not breathing. And what hurts just as much or more, it that her husband doesn't seem to care. As lies and deceit start to come into a clear vision, Charlotte is faced with the hard reality that her life has been a lie. And when her best friends seem to have known this whole time, Charlotte's depression and anger come to the front.

This is was an amazing book on forgiveness, self-discovery, redemption and love. This is absolutely a shining star in CC's library of work and she grows with each and every book she releases. 5 Stars!~

I really loved this book for the emotion and feelings I experienced while reading it. I highly recommend it to anyone who can handle the heavy subject material and wants to read about the healing powers of time and true love.

I’m a sucker for a book that rips your heart out (I know that probably makes me a bit twisted, I’ve accepted it), but this book certainly punches that ticket! Seasons of Sorrow was an emotional rollercoaster that I couldn’t be happier that I experienced. This is my 1st exposure to C.C. Wood and I’m blown away! Her ability to message the true emotion and pain of the main character as well as make you feel it is not something many authors are as accomplished at. After finishing this book I honestly had to take a moment to reflect on the strength of the characters and the raw power that love has to mend even the most broken of hearts.

This book has serious themes which you can gather from the book blurb below. This is not a read intended for those of you looking for a fun light read.

I have to say that I found this book very hard to read. My baby didn't die of SIDS but a heart defect after 3 days of living.

I did persevere with the book though as its based on a true account and the authors experiences. I thought, if she could write it, then I figured, I could read it.

I never understood how a marriage could break up over a death, however, this marriage seemed to have been on the rocks prior to anything happening as tragically as loosing a child.

I felt for this Mother every step of the way. Her pain, her blame, her anguish. She was lucky to have a supportive friend around her that looked after the practicalities of every day life and eventually getting her on her feet.

Its poignant, its tragic, is sad, but its also uplifting, which you can see once reading the book. Get out your'e tissues as you are going to need them

Cover- 5/5
Story Line -4/5
Characters – Charlotte – Loved
Derek – HATED! But he was needed in the story
Greg – He is a sweet and attentive character
Romance- Slow building and sweet
Heat Factor– 3/5 smouldering
Drama – Yes and heart ache
Laughs- I didn’t laugh in this book it was a sensitive topic
Tears- Yes, I cried. It was hard not to cry when reliving Charlotte’s pain
Suspense – None for me

Seasons of Sorrow made my heart ache, such a sensitive subject but Ms Wood wrote it beautifully and really delved into the heart break of losing a child. It took me a little bit to read this book, it is very close to my heart but I am so glad I read it and I truly was in awe of Charlotte’s strength and Greg’s determination to get her through. I hated Derek (her husband) complete arsehole! WHO DOES THAT!!! Seriously! But it was an effective story line.
