Some poetry you just know you will return to again and again. This is just such one of those collections. I enjoyed my first read as I sat outside and enjoyed the natural setting behind our house. This seems to be the most enjoyable place for me but these poems can make you feel like you are out in nature just by their very essence. I have taken this book out with me on several occasions and continue to enjoy each read, and of course have my favorites. I continue to find differing meanings with each subsequent read on some. Pick this up and find your own favorites. You will not be disappointed.

"We are blind and live our lives out in blindness. Poets are damned but they are not blind, they see with the eyes of the angels."
-William Carlos Williams from the foreword to Howl, by Allen Ginsberg

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this as I rode buses and subways around Boston to and from work. I have been keeping this book with for a bit just to re-read again every now and then. Mockingbird and the Sun is my current favourite poem out of the collection.

Mocking Bird and the Sun

First thing in the morning
The sun was shining
And Mockingbird was climbing the scale

R.B. MORRIS

After reading the first three verses of this poem, I hear Bob Dylan as a soundtrack to the rest of the poem.
