An exciting fusion of sizzling contemporary romance with a mythical twist!

This highly original, simply unique novel is like nothing I have ever encountered before! Drawing from her own personal experiences and set within the piquant backdrop of colourful Belize, I was swept away by the vibrancy and passion within the pages. This book has a bit of everything – steamy seductiveness, adventure and travel into the unknown together with an eclectic twist of merging mythology within modern-day. This truly remarkable story is ideal for readers of contemporary fiction and new adult, plus reaching out to a wider readership with the addition of other interesting elements thrown into the tale. The connection between Zoe and Gabriel is magnetic as too is their story which has totally captured my heart. The concept of the ‘Mayan Prophecy of the Golden Goddess’ was something that intrigued me greatly - -as I had no idea how it would seamlessly slot into a thoroughly modern story & setting. How the author ‘pulled it off’ I do not know, but the interweaving of Zoë’s life as a dancer on a Cruise liner to this ancient destiny is quite extraordinary. As ‘the one’ chosen to fulfil such a path Zoe is a most interesting character and certainly a memorable protagonist.

This wonderfully spicy and hot romance is incredibly exciting and had me glued to the pages unable to tear my eyes away. I was so eager not only to read on and find out more about the prophecy and Zoë’s role, but also equally to watch as her relationship with Gabriel unravelled and deepened in intensity. Thoroughly entertaining and eclectic this imaginative, impacting novel without a doubt was an unexpected surprise! I won a physical copy of Virtue by Amy Jarecki through a Goodreads, first-read giveaway.

I recieved this as a Goodreads First Reads giveaway.
To be honest, this isn't my usual genre of book and I had perhaps been expecting a little more about the Mayan prophecy and the history behind it. That said, I will admit to enjoying the book, the characters were well fleshed out and the storyline worked well, there was also a very good insight into whst could be classed as the narrowmindedness of certain cults and their followers.
