Who in their right mind would go into the Amazon jungles with a Demon? Well if your father is deathly sick and the demon is Damis, who wouldn't? Kat learns alot about demons and love in her journey into the Amazon. What a steamy story and Valerie Twombly's writing kept me engaged from the beginning all the way to the end. It was a fast and fun read.

This book took off right from the start and didn't stop until the end. This book kept my mouth watering and my attention right from the start. I couldn't imagine waking up one day to find out that I am half demon, mated, and have magic as well. Out of all three main character's by far Brock is my favorite demon with his good boy attitude with a little cockiness thrown in. Kat and Damis are made for each other. They are both arrogant and mouthy and want everything their way. Valerie Twombly has once again stole my heart with this book.

This is a story about Katrina who's father is dying and the quest she must go on to save him. A quest for a Mythical magical stone deep in the Amazon. For this she needs a guide , someone who knows the area.. That one is Damis a 1000 yr old demon/playboy who is arrogant, insufferable and looks like "sex on a stick"! He agrees yet has his own proposition for her. Can Kat get passed her strong temper and stubborn ways?? As the mutual attraction between them builds? Will they survive each other and the Jungle to reach the stone and save her father??
Valerie Twombly's keeps you right there from start to finish.
Total must reads! Love the books Eternal Flame and Amazon Heat. Looking forward to more!!

~ 3.5 Amazon Heat Stars ~
Amazon Heat is book one in the Demon Heat series by Valerie Twombly. It is a decent start to the Demon Heat series. If you enjoy a bit of steam, then this will be a book for you.
Amazon Heat is an insta-love, quick, and steamy read! The plot is not much and felt a little rushed, but being a short insta-love that is bound to happen. I would have liked more background and world building along with all the hot and heavy going on. We do get to learn a little about he demons in this world, which I enjoyed that information.
Our main focus is on Katrina and Damis, our couple, though Brock stood out as well. Damis is a Uointoa demon and prince of his people. Katrina is part demon/human and is focused on saving the only family she has left. These too took things to a very hot and steamy level. I liked Damis and as for Katrina I had my ups and downs with her. The relationship between these two was fast, with not much building past the sex, but then again the demons in this tail know when they find there mate and will make sure that the other party knows this.
Overall I enjoyed Amazon Heat!

If you are looking for a hit of steamy-ness, then this will be a book for you. If you don’t like m/f/m in your books, don’t be discouraged from picking this to read because there is only one scene and the rest of the hot scenes are just as steamy that you won’t want to miss out on.
There was only one small issue I had with the read, and that was the feeling that the plot itself was rushed through and worked around the steamy scenes. Don’t get me wrong, I love some heat in a read, especially when the scenes are well written but the background writing needs to be just as strong.
As for the characters, I found myself more interested in Brock than Damis though he did make quite an impression as the male lead. Katrina and Damis as a couple took things to a new level of hot, though I had my up and down moments with Katrina, I give her credit for having the strength to stand up for herself and get what she wanted.

Wow. Just wow. If you hate hot, dirty sex than this is not the book for you. A dominant woman who knows what she wants in the bedroom and demands the man satisfies her and a demon that can give it to her and than push her to her limits. The first time Katrina and Damis came together I had to go change my pantie, it was just that hot.
Karina is a strong woman who has no idea she is half demon and she has some interesting ways of getting back at Damis when he’s a butthead. I think the best one was…well read the book and find out. You will know what I mean right away.
Damis is an arrogant asshole that is sexy and yummy and every girl’s wet dream. He offers to help Katrina only if she allows him to pleasure her. I started jumping up and down yelling “me next” because what he could do should be illegal all over the galaxy.
I loved the sex but I also couldn’t wait to find out what the healing stone was, how it worked and if they would make it back in time to save her father. This book kept me turning the pages and at the end I was not disappointed. Again another great book by Valerie.

I won this book on FB and how lucky I am that I did. This is my first time reading Valerie Twombly. I do love to be introduced to new authors of my favorite genre, Paranormal Romance!! This story is a bit spicier than I usually read, but I really enjoyed it.
When Katrina hires hot sexy Demon Damis to guide her into the Amazon to find a stone which is said to hold magical powers, she gets much more than she bargained for. Her father is dying so she needs the stone to heal him. Katrina loves her father so she bites her tongue an puts up with Damis' overbearing stubbornness.
I loved these characters so much. Katrina is a very strong willed female use to getting her own way...so she meets her match with the equally headstrong Damis. When these two get together the sparks fly. Love scenes are so hot I thought my Kindle would combust in my hands. Only a very clever erotic romance writer could come up with the idea to have sex be the fuel to feed a Demons magic. No just sex, but red hot, blow your mind steamy love making!!
I recommend this wonderful read to all Paranormal fans out there....

I liked this book a lot more then I thought I would after reading the first few chapters. I'm not a big fan of erotica. I enjoy a steamy love scene as much as the next person, but when the author puts them in anywhere they find a space for one, to me, it makes the story a little cheesy-- a little Penthouse Form-ish and within the first 3 chapter, Kat had already had sex and a really hot make-out session with two different men. I was like, " Oh my! What am I reading?!" LOL!
It got better-- for me at least. All the sex was explained and there were even a few surprises along the way. It's only 13 chapters that you could read in one setting. So give it a shot! If you like paranormal romance/ erotica, you'll love this well written story.

I finished reading this book yesterday! OMG, it was hot!!! I want a demon of my own now! The author made a romance into a hot , delicious erotic book. I loved the characters Kat & Damis. It was witty & suspenseful & lots of adventure too. I truly enjoyed reading this book by Valerie Twombly. I can't wait to see what this author has in store for us next! I sure hope she continues this series!!! I love this author <3

Katrina Norris was on a mission as soon as her father Gerald told her there was a way to cure his cancer. Gerald, being an archaeologist, has found the location to the Orecha Emerald, a magical stone with healing powers. Weakened by his illness, her father is unable to go himself, so when Kat jumps on the task to go, he warns her how dangerous it will be and that she needs to hire help, so he points her to Damis the demon at The Magic Cove Club. Upon meeting Damis and informing him what she needs, he will only agree to take the job if he is able to bring his friend Brock, because the stone is in the heart of the jungle and being protected, and if she allows him to pleasure her body. With her father's life on the line, Katrina has no choice but to agree.
Let's start out with what I liked about this book...1) Great storyline! Katrina is presumably human, on a quest to find this stone that will save her father's life. Pairing Katrina the human with a sexual demon as her guide/muscle...Making said sexual demon dude a hot piece of mansicle! 2) Plot: Katrina has a secret past even she didn't know about, but Damis sniffed it out, and kept it from her as well. How long can Damis hold out from telling her the secret before it's too late and something horrible happens! 3) Sub-plot: Gerald the dying dad's little secret. Fucker would have been better off keeping his daughter from the clutches of the demon to begin with IF he would have told her in the first place! Or not...
Next on my like list was the ridiculous amount of sex in this short 109 paged book! Every time I turned the page, they were screwing! Hi my name is Kim and I am a smut puppy! I loved the smexy scenes, ooh baby!! And a warning for anyone not a smut puppy there is a threesome scene in the book, just one though, and anal sex. So, I was interested in exactly how many sex scenes their were in the book, and there are nine. If I'm wrong, and I missed one because I was too hot and bothered to write it down, please don't hesitate to correct me and let me know.
My did not like list is very short, and strictly about wordage, not anything to do with the story, characters or anything like that. The words rod to describe his penis, and feeling her orgasm deep in her womb, no...did not like. I don't want to feel anything in my "womb" unless I'm pregnant and giving birth. And rod is not the term I want to use or picture, (like an iron rod) when describing a penis. It's a penis and it's ok to use penis or cock and dick even but not rod please. Those words were not used a whole lot so I was still able to thoroughly enjoy myself....I mean the book! So I highly recommend this book, the surprise is great, and the combination of the story and smut were in perfect balance.

This is an intense read about a woman needing to get this emerald in the Amazon jungle to save her father's life. She goes to this bar to get this demon to guide her there. When he first sees her, he wants her and she wants him also. Even though she thinks he's an arrogant ass, she makes a deal with him. This is an intense exciting hot read. Enjoy I did.

Very hot and steamy. Although the ending was confusing as I'm not sure if the characters are related, but still loved the book. Can't wait to start next book in series.
