Brandon Cooper was married once. After getting burned by his ex-wife, he’s not interested in a relationship. His life is good, it’s simple, and it’s free of the complications that come from being tied to one person. He much prefers to play the field.
Lindsay Hollenbeck isn’t looking for love. After losing her husband six years ago, she doesn’t believe it’s even possible anymore. She’s made a habit of keeping her distance from the people she meets and holding the men in her life at arm’s length.
When Brandon and Lindsay meet one night, the idea of a one night stand is more than appealing, but a chance meeting months later leads them to think that they might not be able to avoid the attraction they feel for each other. With the thought that a no strings attached relationship might be just the thing for them, they start to see each other intermittently. As feelings grow, they soon start to realize that even the best laid plans can backfire. And that when it’s all said and done, you can’t always control who you fall in love with – even when love is the last thing you’re looking for.
Love is Madness is a spin-off of Work of Art. You don't have to read Work of Art first, but it's recommended since this book contains references from the Work of Art plotline that are definitely spoilers.
Monica Alexander is a writer of contemporary, new adult, and young adult fiction. In 2011, she turned her lifelong love of reading and books into a career when she published her first novel, “Just Watch the Fireworks”. When she's not reading and writing, you can find her at the beach, in the mountains, or hiking through a city, soaking all the beauty of the world around her and turning her experiences into inspiration for her next book.
Another great book from Monica Alexander. I love how she intertwines her characters from other books and just a little peek at Zack Easton has me swooning for him all over again. He of course is my #1 of Ms. Alexander's characters and up until this book, Jase Brady was #2. But move over Mr. Hollywood because Brandon Cooper has just stolen my heart.
From the first time I met him in Work of Art, I couldn't help but fall in love with him. He had me the first time he asked Harper for a bj. He's rude, he's cocky, he's crass....and look at him for goodness sakes! But underneath all that is a really great guy...but only if you're lucky enough to get to know him.
Lindsay is a hardass in the entertainment biz and has sworn off love. Her story is sad and depressing, but she hides her pain well. Only when she meets Brandon does she begin to start really living again.
There are a few twists and turns in this book, some real stab-you-in-your-chest heartbreaking moments...just a great story altogether. When a book makes my heart hurt, I know I'm completely involved with the characters and this book totally did that for me.
Loved it and can't wait for the next Monica Alexander book.
Super-excited that this book is finally published! I've wanted to write Brandon's story for a long time and couldn't have been happier with how it turned out. I hope you love it too. He was such a fun character to write, and he ended up having a lot more depth than most people would think after reading Work of Art.
