Ilse Tielsch, 1929 in Auspitz/Hustopece in Mähren geboren, lebt als Schriftstellerin in Wien. Studium der Zeitungswissenschaft und Germanistik, 1953 Promotion. Mitglied des Österreichischen P.E.N.-Clubs und des OeSV sowie Gründungsmitglied des Literaturkreises Podium. Veröffentlichung von Romanen und Gedichten, u.a. »Das letzte Jahr". Ihre Bücher wurden in zahlreiche Sprachen übersetzt. Viele Preise und Auszeichnungen, u.a. Anton-Wildgans-Preis, Andreas-Gryphius-Preis, Südmährischer Kulturpreis. Zuletzt erhielt sie den Franz-Theodor-Csokor-Preis für ihr Lebenswerk.

Ilse Tielsch, born in 1929 in Auspitz/Hustopece in Moravia, lives as a writer in Vienna. Studied newspaper science and German language and literature, doctorate in 1953. Member of the Austrian P.E.N. Club and the OeSV and founding member of the Podium literary circle. Publication of novels and poems, including "The Last Year". Her books have been translated into numerous languages. Many prizes and awards, including the Anton Wildgans Prize, Andreas Gryphius Prize, South Moravian Culture Prize. Most recently she received the Franz Theodor Csokor Prize for her life's work.

Ein ehrliches Buch einer Autorin, die versucht, die Teile einer zerrissenen Familiengeschichte vor dem Hintergrund der Vertreibungsschicksale der Deutschen nach dem zweiten Weltkrieg zu einem Ganzen zu fügen. Sie verliert dabei nicht das große Ganze der Nachwehen des Krieges aus den Augen und schafft somit ein Werk, dass als Statement einer Zeitzeugin über diese schreckliche Zeit in jedes Bücherregal gehört.
